Because this knife always works hot, it is always loaded when you put it in the operational mode. And because it is locked and loaded it packs more torque and leverage than the utility knives that retract. How many times did you bear down on the retractable knife to do serious cutting and have it pop back into its shell? This knife doesn't back down. For that reason I pay attention and do my work and when re-positioning the material I'll set the knife down when not actively cutting. This knife is "the cat's meow" for the job. When not using it I ALWAYS stow the blade in the handle. The oversize wingscrew with large threads takes about 3 turns and the halves of the knife are quickly separated or in the same way reassembled. It comes with one blade. Next time you're at HD pick up spares. They store in the handle. There's a spring there so they don't rattle around and get dull. There's a hole in the end so you can tie it to a string, wire, rope or chain and keep it in the area where cutting would take place. Or so nobody can walk away with it. I didn't know they made non-retractable utility knives until I saw this but they do have a very observable advantage. I like it. You'll like it. But do, for all of our sakes use it carefully. This Milwaukee fixed blade utility knife is perfect because you can take it apart with just your finger tips. I can see this razor knife being perfect for scoring/cutting sheetrock or for any other thing you might need it for. If you are looking for a quality razor knife I would definitely give this one a try. Milwaukee is known for making great tools and this one is no exception.

It is 6” without blade, with blade closer to 6.5.”This utility knife comes with 1 blade already stored inside the handle. You can store more 5 blades inside the handle. When you fix the blade into its slot, it’s held firmly by the cut-outs in the blade matching the notches in the handle so there’s no wiggling around. The screw is on the left hand side if you’re holding the knife in your right hand. I think it’s made more for a righty than a lefty but when I hold it in my left hand, the screw sits at about the bottom of my index finger in the space between my finger and my thumb so I don’t think it’d be a problem for anyone who’s left-handed. At the bottom of the handle there’s a rectangular hole so you can hang it on your belt loop or on the wall. It’s metal coated so that it’s smooth and actually feels kind of like plastic but not cheaply so. Someone really put some thought into its design. It is made in China. The palm of my hand is 3.5” wide and the angle fits easily and comfortably in my hand and the rubber on the underside gives you a good grip. It comes with a “Limited Lifetime Warranty” but there is no information included about the warranty. I can’t imagine what you could do to this in the normal course of events that would break this in any way. My only complaint about this product is the same gripe we all have with plastic packaging: you feel like you need a pair of hedge clippers to get into the package.

Like other Milwaukee tools, this fixed-blade utility knife is an excellent design and has good features such as hand-free blade change, lanyard attachment hole, and a grip. Other things I like are the internal blade storage with a flange to hold them securely and the solid tangs for holding the mounted blade in place; both can be seen in Photo #1. Photo #2 is the knife side-by-side with another brand to show the slight tilt of the blade; this allows for the user's wrist to be in a more natural/neutral position when in use and reduce fatigue.I would recommend this product.

Much better than the other utility knives I have. The handle contour makes this knife easier to hold and control. The contour has a curve that comfortably fits the index finger and the knife has a curved shape that positions the blade at a more comfortable angle than my other utility knives. No tool is needed to open the handle to get to the spare blades stored in the handle. It is easy to rotate the lock without using a screwdriver or the head of a nail, making accessing the spare blades much easier than usual. The spare blades do not rattle around in the handle, helping to preserve their edges, because a leaf spring presses into the pocket that holds the blades. This knife is my clear favorite.

The MILWAUKEE Fixed Blade Utility Knife is the perfect hobby knife. It is light weight. The knife can store 5 blades inside its body for easy access when a blade change is required. A screwdriver free blade change is possible via the button screw in the side of the body that can be pinched and rotated between the thumb and index finger. The blade is fixed in the open position and cannot be withdrawn. The overmold grips on knife provide a comfortable and secure grip without hand slippage. Without a scabbard to shield the blade it would be easy to be injured if walking around a job site with the blade exposed. Milwaukee has other great FASTBACK folding utility knives for this purpose. However, for a hobby knife where the user is sitting at a desk and doesn’t need to carry the knife around with an exposed blade, it is perfect.

This fixed-blade knife is a no-frills utility knife. It’s light in weight and comfortable to use with either hand. I’ve found that cutting with it is very easy. I’ve used it to open boxes and to trim some plastic to size. The lone razor blade that comes with the knife is extremely sharp and durable. I presume the blade is a Milwaukee product; I’ll have to get some spares the next time I’m at The Home Depot. What is meant by “tool free blade changes” is that there is a thumb screw fastener that holds the two halves of the body together. The blade is too sharp to leave in a position where it could cause a significant injury if the knife is mishandled.Made in China.

This is a no frills, no nonsense knife and it comes with a blade inside the handle, where there is space to store up to five spare blades. There is even a small spring clip to hold the stored blades from rattling about in the handle. The knife body is metal, yet lightweight. One can open the knife to change blades without any tools, simply by unscrewing the fastener by hand. A nice feature. It is nicely shaped for holding and pressing down hard. There is also a hole at the end of the knife that allows it to be tethered.I don’t think one can ask for any more from a fixed blade utility knife!Limited lifetime warrantyMade in China

Very nice and well constructed utility knife. This fixed blade knife from Milwaukee is built out of metal with a nice red powder coat paint. There is on board storage for your blade when it is not in use.Key thing to understand with this utility knife is that the fixed blade means the blade does not retract away. If you do not want the blade out then you will need to unscrew the handle and place the blade in the storage area. The knife takes the fastback blades and has a nice handle on it. Super nice utility knife and quality made.I would recommend this utility knife if you are looking for a fix blade knife.
