This little hacksaw is really helpful. The adjustment lever rattles a bit when it's locked down. Gives the impression that the tool isn't locked, but it is. It's nice having a small version .

Decent little hack saw, but the thumb lever to secure the blade rattles like a tin can when tightened. The blade rattles in the handle as well. Takes away the sensation of quality. This cannot be adjusted out. Sounds like a cheap $5 HF tool when in use and or storage. Expected more from Milwaukee. General overall design is decent, but the locking design needs an update. Too expensive for what it is. Embarrassing to see the Milwaukee name on such a tool. Their standard 12" hack saw is terrific, however, and I can recommend that one.

I bought and used this saw for the removal of an entry door part that had to be cut. It was okay but the blade is too fine for my particular need and it took forever. I like the idea but wish this were more of a “ multi-tool” with a variety of blades for metal and wood - like a hand version of a reciprocating saw. It seems sturdy enough to handle the cut off of up to 2” pieces of wood.

No surprises with this hand saw. Needed something to saw through an aluminum fitting on outside spigot that was mounted off the backside of house.Once a groove was started, this project was done in under 15 minutes. Aluminum fittings tend to weld themselves onto spigots. Almost called a plumber to do this same task. The Milwaukee saw was comfortable in the hand, worked well for this project. Look forward to using it again in the future.
It's the perfect tool I needed today for cutting down a few toilet screws. I really like it takes just regular blades that can be found anywhere. It also is perfect for those hard to reach places my larger saw won't fit. I'm a facility manager and I always have it in my arsenal of Milwaukee tools.
I used this compact hacksaw to saw two bolts off of a toilet seat. I had to use two blades to get the job done. It's a handy little saw, and it was easy to change the blades. The blade remained secure in the saw, even though it took me a couple of hours to finish the job. I did not realize until later that the handle had rubbed a blister on my finger, due to the way the handle and the mechanism that facilitates the easy change of the blade. I would use this saw again, but for a much lighter duty job than the thick metal bolts that I used it for this time.
I'VE BEEN USING A $2 PLASTIC ONE HANDED HACKSAW FOR 15 YEARS TO DO LIGHT DUTY HOBBY & ELECTRONICS WORK. WITH A BACKGROUND IN PRODUCT DESIGN I EXPERIMENTED WITH USING OTHER BLADES & FOUND THAT IN ADDITION TO HACKSAW, I COULD USE EVERYTHING FROM SAWZALL DOWN TO AN ATLAS MODEL SAW BLADE (like an X-ACTO).HAVING ONLY RECENTLY BECOME AWARE OF THE QUALITY OF MILWAUKEE'S TOOLS I OPTED TO UPGRADE TO A SAW WHICH COULD BE USED BEYOND THAT WHICH I'VE BEEN USING THE PLASTIC ONE.I WAS AMAZED AT THE QUALITY OF THIS NEW SAW, AS WELL AS THE BALANCE & ERGONOMICS. BUT BEST OF ALL, ALL BUT THE SHORTEST OF RECIPROCATING SAW BLADES CAN BE USED (it took a little finessing, due to differing blade thicknesses; I did have to remove/reinstall the C-clip so I could micro- adjust the bolt ... MoreI'VE BEEN USING A $2 PLASTIC ONE HANDED HACKSAW FOR 15 YEARS TO DO LIGHT DUTY HOBBY & ELECTRONICS WORK. The black metal lever at the top that you pull/push to lock the blade in does not secure itself completely. Functionally it's fine, but it makes a rattling metal on metal noise while you're using the saw or it's in your work bag. It doesn't affect the blade holding at all but it does get irritating and it sounds cheap. Considering the price of this saw is on the high-end, in comparison to the competition, you'd expect Milwaukee to design it a bit better. It doesn't have a slot in the back of the handle to allow you to slide longer blades in further to choke up on the blade. This is a feature included on other mini hacksaws from different manufacturers that cost less money. It's a useful feature and there's no good reason not to include it.The handle is ... MoreThe black metal lever at the top that you pull/push to lock the blade in does not secure itself completely. Overall, it's a functional saw but I wouldn't buy it again if I broke or lost it.
I was reluctant in purchasing it for just one purpose in the foreseeable future. I'm glad that I bit the bullet and bought it. Despite using some elbow grease, I successfully cut off the rivet/axels of broken luggage wheels and replaced with new and stronger wheels that I bought online. Its compact size (in its original package) also helps not take up too much space in storage until the next time it's needed.
Second one I've owned after the first finally rusted away. Used this convenient hacksaw to cut a whole lot of pvc for a water lines that were too big for the jaw cutters. Worked like butter cutting through schedule 40. Lightweight and e asy to use. I also used it to modify some plastic sawhorses for a different project. I do enjoy the fact if I want a longer 12 inch blade it's super easy and simple to get it in. Less than two minutes and back to work.
