Excellent drill driver with tons of torque! This tool replaces/supplements my very old Makita brand NiCad/NMH drill which is 3 times the size and much heavier. This drill driver has enough torque to accidentlly shred driver attachments (i.e. flip bit driver) if you're not careful with the torque adjustment. Only minor quibble is that it's easy to slip your finger off of the trigger and hit the forward/reverse buttons. Not a big deal, just takes getting used to...I've seen some complaints about getting the battery out, also with other M12 tools. The secret is to squeeze much lower on the battery casing than seems to be indicated and the battery will pop out relatively easily!

Upgraded to this drill from an older non-Fuel model. So far I'm very happy with it's performance. It's slightly smaller than my old drill (at least in length) and feels more powerful. Drills through wood and decently thick metal effortlessly - even when using stepped drill bits. Ergonomics are great with this tool and it is relatively light. Speed selector and the torque selector collar are both easily to manipulate. LED on it is sufficiently bright. Battery life has been great, even with smaller 1.5Ah and 2.0Ah batteries.

This is a great compact drill that is perfect for my DIY projects like pre-drilling screw holes. I'll have to drill a few holes, then switch to a driver. Then move on and drill more holes. For those small projects, I don't need hours of battery run time, so the smaller, lighter 12V drill is more than adequate. And the drill clutch is great to have on such a small drill--I regularly use the drill clutch for driving the small screws on cabinet hinges and driving pocket hole screws, preventing me from stripping the wood. The smaller FUEL 12V tools take up less room in a tool bag than the equivalent FUEL 18V tools, so they're much easier to carry around. And I often have to use both a drill and a driver at the same time, so the smaller and lighter FUEL 12V cordless tools are very convenient for me.The drill chuck on the Milwaukee FUEL drills is great--it is so smooth and easy to use, and locks the bit with a twist and a few clicks. I've never had an issue with the FUEL chucks. There are two small ergonomic differences between this 12V model and the 18V model. First, a minor point--the tool / belt hook on the 12V model is much smaller than on the 18V models. The hook on this new model is slightly larger than the hook on my older 12V Milwaukee driver, but it's not large, so I find that it's not as convenient to use.The second design difference is that the grip of the FUEL 12V tools is much wider than the 18V tools. I personally don't mind this, but a friend doesn't like the wider grip on the 12V, and prefers the slimmer grip of the 18V. I don't have large hands, and I find the 12V grip perfectly comfortable. If you are having to carry your cordless tools around or regularly switch between a drill and driver on a project, these smaller, lighter FUEL 12V tools are great.

I received the drill driver in good condition. This is the newest Fuel model. It is slightly shorter than the previous model, but the specifications show it is slightly more powerful. It is identical in size to the new Fuel M12 hammer drill model. It has two speeds, and it is made in China. I tried the drill in various modes and it functions well. The only thing that I find awkward is that under medium to high loads, the tool protects itself by shutting down momentarily. For standard drilling or fastening, it does fine. This is the same behavior that the previous model exhibited. The chuck appears to be made out of steel. There is a belt clip on one side which could be put on the other. This is the same behavior that the previous model exhibited. The chuck appears to be made out of steel. There is a belt clip on one side which could be put on the other. As with most of the M12 handtools, the grip is somewhat bulky because of the battery location. The grip is comfortable with rubber over mold. A battery level indicator is present on the left side of the tool. The sides of the tool are protected by small rubber nubs. An offset LED lights the work area and goes out 10 seconds after releasing the trigger. The battery can be stubborn to remove when new.Since I just received this tool, I can’t speak to durability, but my experience with previous Milwaukee tools tells me that it should last a long time and provide good service.
The drill is great. It has enough torque for everything that I need it to do and I can dial it back for small stuff that would break if I tried it on a higher setting. If I need anything more than what this offers it's definitely time to break out the 18 volt. It's exactly what I needed.
Not impressed. Drill has been used only a few times and can barely sink a drywall screw. Maybe there is something wrong with the drill from the factory. Plus the batteries that come with are worthless. They don’t last or have any power.
Milwaukee M12 FUEL 12-Volt Lithium-Ion Brushless Cordless 1/2 in. Drill Driver (Tool-Only)The MILWAUKEE M12 FUEL 1/2 in. Drill/Driver is a powerful and compact Drill Driver,It is fast under load and is hammer capable too!At 5.9 in. in length, this drill is the shortest solution in class.I love the size for tight spaces. It has a belt clip on the drill - nice to hang from your belt and keep handy.I like having two or more drill setup in my work area - one for drill bit and one for screwdriverIt can use M12 REDLITHIUM 2.0Ah compact and 4.0Ah capacity battery packs. These will work with all the other Milwaukee M12 tools too.it has an all-metal 1/2 in. chuck and all-metal gearcase. It feels durable in the hand and does the job!
I have alot of tools but this is probably my favorite sheerly for convenience. It’s not the most powerful and you shouldn’t expect a super heavy workload out of it but it’s strong enough for me to use to handbrake a screw or bolt. I’ve used them for roughly six years and am on my second one (the original still ran it was old and I wanted an update)It’s perfect for ladder work or attic work, great for renovations or assembling, it’s something I can throw on my side and forget it’s there.
