After many year I’ve finally found a great socket, this Milwaukee shockwave 1/2 drive 5/8 deep socket hands down is great. I carry both a 18v 1/2” and 3/8 impact wrench’s in my primary car and 1 each in my other cars, Milwaukee shockwave products have been great and hold up to heavy use without failure, what I like is these shockwave sockets are laser engraved and the numbers 5/8 is painted in and makes for easy identification instead of rumbling around trying to find right size especially after been used for awhile and numbers wear down. I use a different brand of 18v tools but use nothing but Milwaukee shockwave products, I spend a little extra up front but in long run save a lot more. Plus the 6 point opening make a great for and has reduced rounding of nut or lug nut 99%.

These are awesome. They stay on the ratchet until released. So many sockets just fall off the ratchet. This is important when working on a car or reaching to a tightening spot. They have a nice deep pocket and seem well made. Most of my drivers are 3/8 inch so I stay with that. I have one set of 1/2 but prefer the 3/8 for ease of use.I occasionally use sockets attached to a drill. These are SHOCKWAVE heavy duty rated, so I feel comfortable using them. I only had one project using a drill since getting these and it held tight to the adapter and no issue with torque. They hold well on the adapter which also has the ball to hold the socket. I had no trouble removing the socket from the adapter after removing several bolts.Very solid, should last a long time.

I have an older set of Deep Impact Sockets that I need a flashlight to read the markings. I ended up labeling all of them myself with foil labels. These Milwaukee Shockwave Deep Impact Sockets are forged and then stamped with deep markings that are then filled with ink. The "3/4" marking can be seen even in a dark garage/under a car without having to get out a flashlight. The clever Ring Recess (the red band) helps tremendously when mounting/ejecting the socket from the gun with greasy hands. My old set was glossy and had no such recess--I had to get a screwdriver to release/eject the socket from the gun a few times. These are the best sockets I've ever had. 5 Stars.

I bought this to replace the anode rod on our electric water heater tank. There was no way it could be opened by hand, even using a breaker bar. The breaker bar was appeared to be on the verge of breaking itself. I had to use a corded high power impact driver, using several short bursts (as advisable when using impact drivers) and after 5-6 bursts of impact driver, the anode rod came loose and was removed without any damage to the threads. I installed it back with some teflon tape and all is well. This socket didn't show any signs of damage and I expect it can withstand prolonged use. This socket comes in minimal packaging (which is good) and is pre-lubricated for protection against rust. Make sure you keep your sockets protected from rust.
Wow, it came super fast. Free shipping was one of the reasons why I got this impact socket. It wasn't in stock at any of the five locations near my place (Burnaby, BC). Works well with the lug nuts on my 2006 Honda Ridgeline. Although I could have used an SAE equivalent, all my other impacts for the vehicles I own were from a Milwaukee metric set. 22mm was not part of that set. Anyway, good to have all the sizes and looking the same.
Milwaukee’s latest iteration of impact socket is a high quality offering that will not disappoint.Best features:- precise in fit and finish- high quality materials- excellent size marking that is cut into the socket so that it will not wear off.- detent holes on both sides- the socket maintains a low profile all the way to the base- moderate broaching (not too shallow or deep)- part number on the socket for ease of warranty (if you ever need it)There really is nothing to complain about with this socket. Time will tell how well it holds up, but given Milwaukee’s track record and that it’s made of Chrome Moly, it will probably last most people a lifetime.
These Milwaukee Shockwave sockets are excellent quality and take a beating, I have a sister brand of tools but has switched of to Milwaukee shockwave products. This 3/8 drive 18mm socket I put in my emergency bag in trunk of car with a 18v impact wrench for tire change outs, saved me several times and assisted others stranded on side of road needing assistance. Instead of pulling out a socket trying to see the size, Milwaukee shockwave has it lasered on the side and painted numbers for easy identification of size, the 6 point fits great and no more rounded out lug nuts. With the black harden steel shoes less dirt then the chrome, and with extra care and cleaning no rust issues. Absolutely 100% would recommend these Milwaukee Shockwave 3/8 drive 18mm socket to ... MoreThese Milwaukee Shockwave sockets are excellent quality and take a beating, I have a sister brand of tools but has switched of to Milwaukee shockwave products.
