Would not buy again. Battery does not like to stay in. Works ok but have used other brands that are much better. Have not used it alot. And now can't use at all because one contact that Battery slides into broke off. Used to be able to take to home depot for repairs but no longer. Stores no longer repair buyer has to deal with shipping to repair centers now. One reason I bought milwaukee was to get repairs in store. I have bought alot of milwaukee stuff but looking into changing brands now.

The Milwaukee M12 Multi-Tool is compact and powerful. It’s well balanced for one handed use. However, big disappointment for me is that you need a hex key to change blades. If not a quick, release lever, I would expect a hex key storage compartment built-in to the front tool itself at the very least. The main reason for buying this is because I wanted a compact version of my M18 Multi-Tool. I scored “Yes” to recommending this product, because there may be someone out there, who doesn’t mind carrying a hex key in their pocket for the sole purpose of changing blades.

I bought one of these to compliment my corded Makita multi-tool. I have a bunch of M12 tools and was excited to add this to the collection. All my other M12 and M18 (and Milwaukee in general) tools I am very pleased with, but not this one. It worked alright with the smaller battery. But after inserting a larger battery it would work only if I kept physical pressure on the battery (pushing it into the tool) with my hand. I tried multiple batteries and they all exhibited the same behavior. I examined the tool and batteries and found that the battery retention mechanism of the tool is very poorly designed. I don't know if all of these suffer from this problem or if there is a manufacturing tolerance that causes only some to fail, but after returning mine I looked through the reviews and found someone else describing the exact same problem.I would stay away from this tool and go for the FUEL version instead. I have not used mine extensively yet, but it is designed better and seems to vibrate less, which should reduce wear between the tool housing and battery.

This tool had so much potential…That Allen wrench change out is so dated.(My old Dremel had a better set up than this, you could spot the Allen wrench low pro.)It came loose on me, trimming some simple plastic shims. I had to SUPER TIGHTEN it. Get it together Milwaukee.It’s making me want to return my M12 fuel drill & impact combo because of this. Such a buzzkill.I like the constant “ON” switch, versus Dewalt’s lock. I still think Dewalt’s 18v oscillating tool is better than this 12v.
Amazing tool able to access most locations. The securing Allen screw keeps the attachments stable and allows for greater variations than some others seen/tried. Oscillations speed selector really helps dial into the materials attacked. Various M12 batteries keep it maximally portable and have never had any issues with 12 over 18V. A welcome and loved tool in the bag for everyday usage.
I started off with a Ryobi oscillator. In less than a minute, the cheap dial popped off! I tried to deal with that.Then the on/off switch got harder and harder over time. I returned it in the 30 day warranty and tried this Milwaukee.It's better and worse.The dial is integrated within the housing so that's good. The tool uses a smaller size battery which can be good.But the Ryobi had a quick-release blade and the Milwaukee not only requires a cumbersome Allen wrench, but apparently, there's no where to store it in the tool??Takes much longer to load blades.If not for that, it would be 4 or 5 stars.But as it is, 3 stars .
I am a loyal Milwaukee tool owner and love the majority of their tools but this tool has many flaws.The battery vibrates out with use. The process for blade attachment is horrendously designed- you have to unscrew a screw and hold in a tiny insert with every blade change (other companies have a quick connect design). The teeth that hold blades in place have vibrated off. Essentially useless after its first construction project with a few hours of use.
I’m a huge fan of the M12 line and wanted a multi-tool in the M12 battery. When I saw a combo kit with the new M12 Fuel Hammer Drill and Driver, I grabbed it. I didn’t realize until it arrived that it wasn’t the Fuel Multi-Tool and required a tool to change the blade. Nevertheless, I pulled it out for a couple of quick cuts. I was disappointed to see that after one use, the rubber lining inside the tool was already wearing off, and the metal retainers had damaged my battery.
I have had this tool for about 6 months. It preformed the first time as expected and it complemented my other M12 tools, using the same battery and charger. The second time I used it, it vibrated the battery loose and shut off. I also noticed the tool was hot to the touch. I pushed the battery back in, turned the tool off and on again, and it started to work but again it vibrated the battery loose. Because it constantly vibrates the battery loose (i have used different size batteries with the same results) I now have to keep pressure on the battery while using the tool, and it still gets hot. I initially purchased the tool to trim a 2x12 that was making contact with the garage floor. I have the M12 drill, M12 right angle drill, and the M12 impact driver, which are all great but sadly the multi tool has let me down. I had my sights on the M12 circular saw but I have decided to hold off. In all fairness I contacted Milwaukee before posting this and they said they would get me connected with their team. That was 10/2 and as of 10/7 I have not heard anything. I will update my post when or if I do. I had high hopes for Milwaukee, still do but we will see.
It works. Kind of. The tool is not very powerful and has a hard time clearing its own dust from a cut. Cuts slowly. Its light, so you won’t get tired waiting for this thing to cut.Don’t buy this version.The tool needs a hex wrench to change the blade. That and the adapter killed it for me. Needs an adapter for most blades, which my helper quickly lost.I also own one from Ryobi. It works way better and doesn’t have fiddley bits that get lost.Even the HFT version spanks this thing.
