The build quality is good and feel comfortable in hand. I used this on almost anything that require a stronger grip. The tool can withstand some beating to it when you just need an extra force.

After struggling without success to remove cut flooring brads from floorboards using a Bahco nail remover, I had a eureka moment. Using a 7mm metal drill bit (slightly wider than the jaw tips) I drilled a hole 6mm deep either side of the brad, then clamped the tips of the long nosed locking pliers onto the brad, then with a bit of twisting and pulling out it came. The holes in the board can easily be repaired using two-part polyester wood filler afterwards.

Even though these are long nosed pliers they are definitely sturdy enough to dependably hold materials in place when you need that extra hand. These assist in fabricating materials in an enclosed or minimal space and are precise and easy to set and clamp in place. They are precisely adjustable with the set screw on the top handle. The plier jaws may be placed to hold the material and the set screw turned until the jaws are holding the material and then by closing the pliers the material is clamped firmly into place. Additional pressure may be applied by putting a lever - usually a screwdriver - through the set screw and rotating the set screw to the proper holding pressure. I've always preferred the long-nose locking pliers to the typical round nose ones. This design upgrades the basic concept in a couple of ways. First, the grip jaws seem wider than other pliers I have owned, might give a bit more bite on something that's really sticky. Second, the knurled knob to adjust the grip lock has been replaced with a tab that is 1) easier to turn with gloves on and 2) easier to grip with something else should the pliers get stuck (as happens to me all the time) and the grip needs to be backed off while the pliers are locked. All-in-all a great tool.
The Milwaukee 9 in. Long Nose Locking Pliers has a powerful gripping action. It has a red loop-end screw on one handle which allows the user to place a screwdriver blade through it to get maximum torque to lock the pliers onto something so it really holds. The pliers should not slip now. The long nose has also allowed me to access objects that I would have been unable to with a conventional locking plier. The nose portion seems solid enough that it should be able to handle a strong turning force. The one potential flaw is that the screw on the handle is made of plastic. Why not metal? My prediction is that either the threads will wear or the loop screw will break as a result of tightening.
There are times when you need a locking pliers, but the nose of the pliers are too wide to fit into the area you need to use them. One instance for me is changing the float valve on my evaporative cooler. The corner that the float valve is installed is to narrow for most tools, and to hard to hold onto while you are working on the outside removing the nut. A long nose locking pliers is just the thing to lock on and wedge into the corner so that you can work on removing the nut.
I received this product for free for the purpose of reviewing. My old locking pliers had a know to turn on the back. The main difference with these is that there is a flat handle to grab and turn. It is much easier to turn. The leverage is better.Great for any project where you want to get a really tight grip on something and hold it there. From welding to pulling nails.
These grip like a limpet with vertigo. I used them to grip and extract a broken screw in a window immediately next to the glass. 2 attempts and the screw was out. Much better than my older larger mole grips. These have really grippy jaws as well as the actual super grip that can be tightened on them.
this product is fantastic. I use it a lot to remove drop links from vehicles when the whole nut and thread are spinning together. provides a good grip and really like the thumb screw.
