I haven't seen a review on this, so I thought I'd write one. This won't replace your $1,600.00 Schoeps shotgun, but it will work well on your camera, for maybe a little less than some of the low price competition. I bought it because I needed a very directional mic to record music in a very loud club on my Tascam DR-05. I had to eliminate all the ambient sound. Haven't done an extensive test, but seems ok. It's a metal body, so it gives you a quality feel (but smaller than you think!). It comes with a nice wind tribble, and a foam pop covering. The cheap plastically mount included is a hoot, but dang if it doesn't work OK and anchor on the camera just fine. You'll need a 5/8 to 1/4 adapter if you want to use it on a real stand. It IS a mono mic, but uses a stereo mini plug so the sound ends up on both channels, a smart move! Sure it's inexpensive, but not worthless, and performs well enough to find more than a few uses. Get your feet wet with this, and you can eventually move up to that Schoeps!

I've only used it once, but so far so good.

It's small and compacted. Which I like!. But I would have to have a base part to set it down to record because I normally use it to record guitar parts and a little vocals.
