We ordered the Moccamaster after reading overwhelmingly positive reviews - and we have not been disappointed. The taste of the coffee is next level, you can't tell the difference between this and a freshly brewed coffee from a barista and a professional machine. What you can tell is that the machine is of superb quality. Only some parts are made of plastic but that makes for very easy cleaning.We're also positively surprised about how quickly the coffee is brewed. On top of that, the noise from the machine is extremely low. Lastly, the design is just beautiful. We were on the fence about getting the brushed silver or the pastel green but eventually decided for the latter to add some colour to our otherwise grey kitchen, and we didn't regret it. Had the machine for 3 months. Working fantastically. Does have a vintage look which does look cool but slightly cheap parts. Easy to keep clean. Wish it had a removable water tank.Has been super convenient - I dose out the beans the night before, fill up the water tank. In the morning its grind, press the button and filter coffee is ready within 5 minutes, brews more than enough for 2 people, for all day kept in yeti flasks.

I really like the design and simplicity in using but over time I found that the water doesn’t spray across the coffee grinds as it did when it was new. It has slowly deteriorated into just drizzling water at uneven amounts. It’s gotten to the point where I have to physical move the basket around to ensure the coffee grinds are getting wet. I feel as if the pump is failing or just not operating as it did new for some reason. I wish I could by a new pump but they don’t seem to be available. I would fix it myself if I could.Also, the basket has a lever on it that allows for someone to stop the water flow into the pot, slow the rate of the flow or have it at full flow. That stopped working so all I can do is cut off the flow or allow it for full flow. We bought the Moccamaster Select in Matt Black in December and have been enjoying it daily. I usually start my day with a long black made with my Cafelat Robot and then make a pot with the Moccamaster to take to work in a thermos. Throughout the week we have lots of family and friends visit and can't make an espresso for everyone. The Moccmaster makes a strong smooth delicious coffee quickly.We looked long and hard at what coffee maker to buy and then when we decided on a Moccamaster we decided upon the Select mode. We often make less than a pot and it works a treat. We like the look and that it is handmade in Europe.Alternative Brewing shipped quickly and efficiently with no problems. I highly recommend both AB and the Moccamaster Select.

We have this machine for about a year now. I do like it's minimalistic look. It does the job of making coffee but not more. I did an extensive research before purchasing this and the last hint was a friend's raving review. I was previously brewing with V60 by hand and hoped that this would be somewhat not too far. But I was wrong. The coffee it brews is ok, it's quite smooth and pleasant but with no clarity and aroma of the hand brewed. To be honest- filling the tank, putting the grinds in putting the fiddly filter and cover on seems not much less work than brewing by hand. The problem is that it has no blooming stage so it just spays water like every other machine for 19 euros. Leaving the bed very uneven. I loved this machine for the first few months, but now the basket clogs, overflows, and the water won't empty into the coffee pot. I've tried everything I can think of. I ran plain water through and that was fine, but the problem seems to be when coffee is in the filtered basket. This is a very expensive coffee make, and I should not have to be dealing with this.
i cannot understand some negative comments,as a retired engineer chemicals etc my teaching was and is if working well,then leave alone and that is certainly what the company has done. it is so simple really not much to go wrong but simplicity here make a perfect coffee quietly and superfast,simple to clean too. yes i have one minor gripe and that is the fastening of the lid on the container it is very hard to clean without knocking the lid off,it would be better with a metal pin through it which i may do myself. but the maker is solid and with good plastic,highly recommended.
