Moondrop Discdream 2

After missing the drop of the first one, I couldn't pass up the opportunity for the second. As a CD player it is absolutely amazing, with great reading speed of CDs and shock resistance ensuring that impacts won't affect your listening experience. With the inclusion of USB IN, it becomes a great amplifier for at home listening and minimizing amount of items needed on your desk. For some downsides, the outputs are limited to 3.5, 4.4, and optical. The analog outputs are amazing, but the digital output being only optical limits desk setups. Very much worth the price and easily my favorite all in one audio solution for those looking to do some at home listening. I'd be very excited for a dedicated desk version. Until then, this will do absolutely wonderful.

Wish the optical/line out port would be on the back next to the USB-C port, doesn´t make much sense that it is on the side in my opinion, USB-C output would also be nice. Otherwise very happy with the player, doesn't skip even while shaking it and it looks and sounds good.

Absolutely happy with this player. I don't have anything to compare with, but the sound is clear, tracks (or parts of them) are not being skipped. Case quality is pretty good, only thing I noticed is slight backlash of the rotating mechanism during the disk extraction. Shipped carefully packaged, original box's film was not even scratched. Special thanks to the support team that was staying in touch and responded quickly on my requests!

I really don’t have an opinion. I still haven’t received the moon drop disc stream portable CD player so I kind of think you’re putting the cart before the horse. I tried to contact you and I received no reply. You have my email address I would like you to email me and tell me why I haven’t received it yet.I need to think that you guys are a scam. Wow. . the sound delivery at this price point is unmatched plus not mention the cool modernistic appearance of this player. Just when you think your headphones are already sound good this unit just enhances everything about them. Details and soundtstage plus also delivering a nice midrange. In other the words the Discdream 2 has been perfectly tuned for all your headphones. Although this model only has a 3. 5 output the sound is exceptionally balanced. This unit also has an optical output which brings to mind the infamous Radio Shack Optimus 3400. For the classic audiophile this is very much in comparison to the 3400. . if not better. Just remember delivery may take a week or so. It was sure worth the wait.

Delivers the Goods!!

The CD player works as advertised. The single ended headphone jack has decent output, able to drive IEMs at a loud volume level. The coaxial output also works with a 3.5mm male to coaxial cable hooked to a pre-amp. Sound signature is unolocured in the territory of neutral to slightly bright neutral and corresponds well with recording and mastering of records. Worth the money imo.

Fully functional CD Player with Extra features

I don’t know what I was expecting for the price but I thought maybe some of the case would be metal or it would have more weight to hold it in place on a table, but the whole thing is plastic. It doesn’t change its functionality though. Primary purpose for my purchase was an affordable option to try something that could be used as a transport that wasn’t an uber cheap DVD Player and it does that just fine. Overall a pretty fun item to play with and also a reason to keep all the CD’s I collected in the 90s.

I was on the waiting list a good while, but Peter and Sheila from Apos kept in steady touch with me. It was exciting to know mine was finally on the way! I have enjoyed portable CD players ever since Sony released one in 1984. Subsequent top models from them were in my collection. A few Pro-level units from Denon and Marantz were also in my arsenal. What every one of them didn’t quite have was the sonic excellence the Moondrop Discdream produces. This player has a warm and wide presentation. Tight controlled bass and engaging resolution. The connection to a hi-res player or Micro SD card works beautifully as well. Over all I have a good experience dealing with this company.First, after I order this item, this went on sale and the price was adjusted and refund made promptly after my request as they guarantee.Second, in transit of shipper changed the tracking number and I lost a track of it but this " kink: in the shipment is solved by Apos. within a day providing revised number. This was an unexpected issue nut support staff was on top of things for me.Third; Initially I thought this was good but I was not impressed as a transport using optical connection. I compared this with Cambridge CD transport.
