I was so excited to try this shampoo when I received it. I used it right away. 1st of all it smelled amazing & it is really purple! I lathered it up & left it on my wet hair for about 5-10 minutes. 1st thing I realized when I rinsed it off is my hair was not dried out like alot of purple shampoos leaves it even wet I could tell. So I toweled dried my hair put in my products & styled let it air dry and my hair was amazing. Brassiness was gone the color looked good it fresh and vibrant. The Moroccanoil Blonde Perfecting Purple Shampoo actually extended my color I didn't have to re-do it as soon as I usually do. I very pleased, absolutely recommend this shampoo to everyone & I did buy the Full Size which will be a regular staple in my haircare regimen.

I don't write reviews for everything, but this is a standout product that deserves one. Tried many purple shampoos for my natural greying dark blonde/lt brown hair that for some reason was going reddish brassy. This completely kills the red/brass tones in one shot, without drying my hair out. I do use a deep conditioner after. A warning-this is the most concentrated, intense purple shampoo I've found, so some hair types may want to start carefully, using a little less, not leaving it on for more than a minute, etc. It stains my hands and nails purple, ,so I use a scrubby exfoliant after on them right after, and that removes it. If I didn't keep my face really well exfoliated, I'd be a little worried about it taking on some of that stain, lol. Typically, when I want to brighten up my locks, I use "Not Your Mother's" purple shampoo (no conditioner). But clean and healthy feeling. I used as shampoo then rinsed … swueeze out all water from hair with hands and reapply from front hair line back to ur ends and massage thru without sudsing up the product and leave set for 10/15 minutes depending on how porous ur hair is. (Do this for more toning effect) Mines was needing toned again and is pretty porous so I left in longer… but not too long. Anyhow I’d recommend to anyone who has chemically treated and or damaged hair needing give it some TLC.Price is fair considering other brand and they dint work as well as this one trust me.. I’ve wasted a lot of money trying to find the right ones to maintain my blond locks!! Also I left my conditioner in for about 5minutes too. But my hair is very dry of course. Thus those luxurious healing oils in moroccanoil products… u get more strength tans healing from them than any other!! This is a pretty good purple shampoo/conditioner pair. I love most Moroccanoil products. They have all performed just as described. However, I don't think at the price point, that it is any better than my current purple shampoo/conditioner that I use. I use Eva NYC purple shampoo/conditioner and the price point is much better and dare I say maybe even performs a little better and quicker than Moroccanoil. But it honestly comes down to preference. If you like Moroccanoil products and they are within your budget, then go for it. You won't be disappointed. I'm just very happy with my current purple products and am much happier paying their prices than these. I took away 1 star only based on price point, not performance.

I get more orange than yellow since it’s not a level 8 or more but this actually works to neutralize! I do leave it in my hair for the five minutes because unless you have a level 8 and higher blonde leaving it for less doesn’t work the same. I also use a clarifying shampoo first then a toning shampoo because it works far better that way. This smells amazing like all the other products so if you’re a fan this doesn’t disappoint. Then I conditioned with olaplex conditioner, rinsed again, towel dried and applied the Kerastase blond absolu mask for damaged blond hair (NOT the one that is a purple hair mask for brassy hair, which kerastase also makes in the blond absolu line, but the one made just for processed blond hair that needs moisture) I left that in for an hour, rinsed thoroughly and towel dried again. Then I applied olaplex leave in hair serum and rough dried my hair with a blow dryer, then when it was almost dry I put the kerastase blond absolu hair serum in (a little of these serums goes a long way!) and then finished blow drying. My hair feels like silk!!!I was super afraid to try this bc I thought it might ruin my hair or make it super dry (my hair can get really dry if I don’t constantly moisturize and condition). But then I read that this isn’t even permanent and it will absolutely wash out so I went for it. LOVE, LOVE!! Buy it!!
