Morphy Richards 1.6L Clarity Soup Maker

I looked at several and decided I wanted a clear bodied one so I could see whats going on inside. The clear ones were all glass bodied ones and were all way too heavy. The other thing I wanted was a freestanding jug one as opposed to the ones that sit on top of a motor base. The reason for this is that the freestanding jug type take up less storage space.This leads me on to the Clarity soupmaker. I saw it first in a newspaper review of soupmakers and it came out top. It was also very quick and sat firmly on the worktop, sad I know but it was interesting this first time watching the process. I must admit I thought there was no way all the vegetables would have been cooked in the program time but they were perfectly.One thing I hadn't realised was the number of recipes that call for sautéing, this model does not have that function so a saucepan is necessary if you wish to do that.I do not think you need to saute and can skip that part and put it straight in the jug. It's personal choice.All in all well impressed so far.

Forget about the old-fashioned labour intensive method of making soup in your stockpot and the trying to make space in your freezer for litres of leftover soup!This soup maker is a kettle and blender all-in-one! It makes chunky soup in 28 minutes or puréed soup from scratch in 21 minutes.I love pumpkin soup but hated making it because it’s such a chore. Now I cube up half a pumpkin and store it on the veggie crisper and make it up 1.3 litres at a time. Enough for one to four generous serves ready to enjoy in 21 minutes.
