I have used this a couple of times for steaming vegetables mainly. Overall I am not totally satisfied with this steamer…it’s easy to use and clean but there are a few downsides such as: poor instructions in the manual( a bit confusing to be honest on how to use each tray etc) and it happened a few times when the steamer started beeping and stopped it’s program without knowing what the issue was, it had plenty of water in the container and it doesn’t show on the digital screen what the issue is. I’m still thinking if to return or keep.

I previously had a 48775 model Intellisteam which worked very well until the plastic of the container started going brittle and bits breaking off from it. This one having three steamer slots is certainly that bit more flexible and the plastic used seems less likely to go brittle as the previous one did. However, in comparison this one is significantly slower than my previous one; I have to add around 20% to all my previous cooking times. I'm guessing this is due to the elements on this one turning on and off (more efficient I guess) whereas the older model's elements stay on constantly. It has the same functionality of the previous model which I love as different foods can be set for different times. Hopefully it will last longer having stainless steel baskets and glass lids. The old model was great but plastic baskets deteriorated over time and lid handles broke. Mine was still going strong but the replacement baskets were discontinued

I bought this to replace a 3 tier steamer which had seen its best some years ago! It's probably overkill for a single person but I particularly like the fact that different times can be set for each container but everything finishes at the same time. Especially useful is the keep warm function at the end of the steaming cycle. The stainless containers are easy to clean and should last much longer than plastic ones. The included recipe book looks interesting with a comprehensive list of foods and suggested timings
I used to have the previous model, but as with most users, the containers eventually broke. This model is made of sterner stuff but otherwise seems identical. I love the machine and use it three or four days a week. Unlike some others, I find cleaning it a breeze and have not yet bothered to put it in the dishwasher as a quick clean is all that is needed. The divider is a bit fiddly, but I soon got used to it. The controls are simplicity itself.For vegetables in small pieces I use a mesh bag as it simply makes them easier to remove, but for likes of broccoli or asparagus it goes straight onto the container. Storage is easy and I love the way the cable and plug just clicks into place.So far I cannot find anything I would change. Perfect.

It also was tricky to clean and had a couple of tiny strainers that the writers of the manual didn’t know about.This one is entirely different. As I say, I’ve used it just once so far and it happily took smoked fish, root vegetables and leaf vegetables, all on default settings and my wife and I really enjoyed the result. It is destined t9 get much more use from now on!If there is one shortcoming, it is the front compartment divider which is rather a loose fit - though it did stay in place OK. I previously had the square intellisteam from Morphy Richards for around 12 years. It still steamed and after a few years the plastic steam "baskets/lids" cracked and disintegrated and with no spares available any longer it needed replacement. Really glad to see this upgraded metal and glass version! Only 2 minor irritations. The front metal steam basket has a huge sticker on the front which should be removed before using - except it leaves a massive amount of glue behind, no idea why it's adhered in such a fashion. Also the plastic separator doesn't fit well between the walls of the metal steam basket (it's not wide enough and so often falls one way or other), which is quite disappointing design flaw!

I really liked that you could set different steam times to different sections and either have just the back section on, front full section on, front left, front right or all sections steaming at the same time it certainly gives you far more control over what and how you are steaming.The steaming process is simple and highly adjustable, I found I got the time wrong on the new potatoes I cooked but it was a simple case of just setting that section to cook for additional time and the other sections just kept warm, the rice cooked perfectly as did the carrots, corn and green beans and I was certainly pleased with the results for a first attempt. I have since steamed fish, chicken, dumplings and a multitude of other items in the steamer with great success, I have found for me using suggested times more as a guide is better and giving additional time if needed to cook it the way I prefer.Overall a great kitchen tool that gives you precise control over everything you are steaming, I like that everything is easy to remove and clean, the water tank can be topped up at any time without having to remove the top section and that it has a front indicator of water level remaining, in conclusion great product.

Spares were available and not really low cost with deliver costs etc. I was about to buy abnother lid (I had 3 now) and could not see the part to order still waiting for MR to get to me with price etc . I decided to buy this one as it was on sales. It is an improvement compared to the older model I use for several years with 3 compartments that can be set to different times. Much easy to clean in sink. The plastic serperator is much to small for the twin compartment and fails to stay in place. Take sup a bit more space in cupcoard and is much to large to keep on to p of worktop.
