The edge of the container has a rubber collar to protect your portafilter. The bottom of the knock box is equipped with a 2 mm thick rubber ring to protect your kitchen surfaces and prefent from moving around. The bar is protected with rubber and the bar can be removed by unscrewing the knobs. The height of the knock box is about 11.5 cm.

This knock box is beautiful and functional. I have had mine flor 3 years. This one I just bought for my son in law as a gift. He loves it too. You dont have to use the rubber ring around the rim unless you want to. I usually just wipe it down when I empty it, but if youre going to submerge it, be sure to disassemble the bar so the screw insideThe rubber sleeve can dry and not rust.

As everything I order from Chris' Coffee, it arrives in perfect condition. If I am looking for quality coffee products, this is the go to place! The knock box is large enough that there is no worry of striking the side. It is easy to clean and the padding on the base is perfect. I have soap stone counters which are soft and the padding ensures there is no damage to the soap store (a very soft stone).

Good stainless steel. Nice bulky design with the large round nuts. Only had for a short while but looks like it will last. Larger than I thought it would be but that is good-heavy-stable. So far-great. But look for sources because prices vary from site to site.
I have nothing new to add. The knockbox is very sturdy and will last forever. I also purchased a stainless steel backsplash which has been extremely helpful. The rubber gasket stretches wide and stops fitting early in the game (the backsplash may have helped stretch it) and so I only seal the front lip of the knockbox and functions OK but with poor aesthetics.

It looks good and its large (dry coffee doesnt mold or attract bugs; so less trips to the compost bin). I wish the outer rim were rolled metal.. or had a beefier rubber piece.. When I took it apart for cleaning it kind of looked like metal that might rust. If it were stainless steel I would think they would have advertised it as such (but it kind of looked like stainless steel.. please comment if anyone knows). Playing it safe I blew (with my mouth) out the water from the threaded ends,. And let them air dry overnight. I doubt this thing will require cleaning like that very often (just dump the coffee pucks out).
