My Dell Inspiron 5675 gaming pc got fried, this was the first recommendation. - It supports all ryzen series chips. B450 boards should be able to flash bios to support the new Ryzen 5000 series chips about to release. - Build quality is great, heavier than I expected. - Fits my Be Quiet Pure Base 500dx case perfectly. Just remember to put the I/O shield on before the Mobo so you don't have to waste time unscrewing. - BIOS is easy to navigate. I set my RAM to XMP profile 2 (3200mhz). The CPU fans went to full blast, loud as hell. But you go into the BIOS, hardware monitor, and I let the auto smart fan settings do its magic. There could be a better configuration for the fans but they're pretty silent now (Pure Wings 2 fans that came with my case). - Plenty of fan ... MoreMy Dell Inspiron 5675 gaming pc got fried, this was the first recommendation. - It supports all ryzen series chips. Shouldn't be an issue for streamers/gamers. - No wifi. It's fine to get your own separate pcie wifi adapter anyway since they'll most likely be better than pre-installed chips on other mobos. I'd prefer that over a usb dongle on my desktop. - No USB type C header on mobo. This makes the front USB-C on my Be Quiet 500dx case useless unless there's an adapter to buy. Overall, one of the best B450 motherboards if you get the Max versions, really similar to the Tomahawk Max. Really nice that they will support the new Ryzen chips in 2021.

I'm not a gamer, and I don't know anyone who is. I'd rather not buy a gaming board, but if a board meets all my needs, the fact that it's a gaming board isn't a problem. Many times, a budget gaming board gives me the best balance of features, compared to a business kind of board. I'm not stuck to one board brand...I use what I feel is best for that situation, which is why I used this board. I needed a entry-level but solid build as a business computer (and family computer) for a friend. - Ryzen 3 3100 CPU - CORSAIR Vengeance LPX 16GB (2 x 8GB) memory - AMD R7 250 GPU - Rosewill Tyrfing II case - EVGA 110-BQ-0500-K1 500 BQ PSU

This looks like a promising motherboard, only problem is that it wouldn't start at all. Its like electricity won't even run through it. Power supply was working on old PC build, 24 pin was inserted properly, RAM/CPU was inserted properly, made sure the RAM clicked onto the motherboard. Power Switch from case to motherboard was inserted properly, I even inserted the motherboard into another case and yet it still wouldn't turn on. Consulted 2 of my friends that Knows how to build a PC and it came to the conclusion that the motherboard is defective. RMA'd already and hoping I will get a working Motherboard. Will change my review based on that. Disappointed with MSI and I hope they will send me a working motherboard.

For my build, I've run into two distinct issues, one of my own doing somewhat and one of simply flat out missing or wrong documentation. On my end: before you do anything with your build, download the latest bios for this board and flash it before you get started. There are YT videos that show this in detail. Trying to update the bios once components have been installed has been a headache. On their end: I bought two sticks of 16Gb DDR4 3600 MHz memory and the board's install manual says to place those in slots 1 and 3 and I did so. Power on the machine and the BIOS simply doesn't recognize the clock speed of the memory and defaults down to 2133Mhz...clearly not what I need and it appears that doing that is causing BSODs with Win 10 and it throws the "UNEXPECTED_KERNEL_MODE_TRAP" error referencing "Wdf01000.sys". I went into the BIOS setup and tried to manually set the memory clock speeds at their rated 3600Mhz...and the reboot failed and reverted back to default. A second attempt at 3200Mhz seemed to take and while I got one BSOD thereafter, the system was stable having been left on overnight. However, nobody wants to simply assume that a single BSOD has somehow magically fixed itself and will never happen again so after much further Googling it appears that the issue is that the memory modules needs to be in slots 2 and 4 and NOT 1 and 3 as per the directions. I will be swapping out 1/3 for 2/4 later today and see what the BIOS sees after that but, yeah, if you're planning on going with 32MB of memory, I can't help but suggest 4x8 and not 2x16 as, apparently, 4x anything is no issue according to what I'm seeing on various forums.
This motherboard was not what I was expecting. Once I got into the bios everything was slow from there on. My pc would boot up faster with the old motherboard. The fans would not work properly with this motherboard nor did the RGB on my cpu fan. I properly installed this, but even booting up the pc was slow with this motherboard. When I would plug in my headset the sound quality was beyond sub-par, my headset audio got cut in half essentially. My mic wasn't as clear as before compared to my previous motherboard. This product was a let down to me and I don't think I'll ever purchase this product again. I had a terrible experience with this product. It is hot GARBAGE. I would not recommend this to anybody! Avoid it at all costs. MSI has lost a customer today...
I got this for a Ryzen 3600. Default core voltage seems reasonable, and I have not had to use a negative offset to get temps in the 80's running a stress test. Performance of this combo seems very good to me, and it comes at a great price point. I have enabled PBO but don't intend to do an all-core overclock. I am using a Cooler Master 212 CPU cooler. The XMP profile worked @ rated 3600 with no tweaking. This is a great board and a tremendous value. I would recommend it.
This is a great motherboard and I've been using it for a few days now without any issues. No matter what, trust the LED lights, if cpu is on and u have a new cpu then first update bios to latest version and if that does not work then try 2nd or 3rd gen ryzen. Dram light is never wrong, if bios update does not fix dram light then change the sticks at least 3-4 times (buy as many as you can afford from Best buy and return the rest once 1 works). Use lower frequency ram if you have to. My rgb 3.2k hz sticks failed until I tried something lower 3000 hz. I was unlucky and got 2 sets of ram that were either DOA or had compatibility issues.
Overall the thing just works!!! Had a bad experience with a new board from ASUS (good company, it happens). I thought I had forgotten how to build computers. It was wonderful hooking this board up and it started without issue. One click overclocking gets me the most value out of my ram and processor!! I wish the main PCI Express slot would be the lower one to leave more room for large cooling solutions but it seems most manufacturers position them this way. I suppose it leaves more room for the video card to cool itself. My son is getting 400 fps on many of his games.
I like this motherboard from product presentation to performance and design. The black and red skin of this mobo makes it look great in my setup. At this price this motherboard performs epic. There are 2 rgb pin header from which you can connect any number of fan and other rgb devices, you have a M.2 slot and 6 SATA ports, thats plenty. Can't complain about VRM cooling on this board, its good. I highly recommend it.
I bought this 2 1/2 years ago and still don't have a working board. First one lasted maybe a year.Returned, came back with 90% of the same problems [Bios errors causing blue screens, bad clamp that won't hold processor in place, bad front USB ports, etc], returned and they sent another and it was DOA, returned and they sent new one, which was a Tomahawk but essentially the same with the same physical defects. However, was DOA. They refuse to give the money back, claims they can only send another board. Went thru the BBB and they ignored that. Will try the CA state attorney general next. Will never buy another MSI product.
