Mutti Pizza Sauce 400g

One of the best pizza sauce I have ever bought. Excellent sauce for homemade pizza and everyone at home approved it. So tasty with a good balance of ingredients and it doesn't have any chunk of tomatoes that makes it easy to spread. Nice tomato flavour with a hint of basil and garlic, I also use it as a spaghetti sauce as it already has some herbs on it that makes my dishes more flavorful. I highly recommend you to try this brand and you will never go back to your old brand of pizza sauce ever!.

Absolute favourite!

Cannot praise Mutti ingredients highly enough - they really are fab, authentic and feel so fresh and healthy in any meal. A real taste of Italy, we use many different Mutti products. Friends in Italy even use them, so we can compare our choices!

As it should be- authentic

I’m very fussy. I make my own dough and having family in Italy I have experienced authentic. Italian pizzas often. Usually I make my own sauce but I often find our tomatoes too acidic, whether tinned or fresh. Mutti tinned tomatoes are the closest I can find to what I’m looking for so I was happy to try this sauce. It’s good. I use it. Very happy! It’s quite thin, as it should be - pizza should only have a film of tomato base - and it’s not too acidic, nor overloaded with herbs. I’m using it instead of making pizza sauce and am intending to keep a stock in the cupboard.

Great Pizza Sauce

Great Pizza SauceBrought this for my grandson as he has a lot of intolerances, and it was good to see that it was the same price as the ordinary one. I also had it on my pizza, so as not to waste any and I was surprised how much I liked it, a bit herbier but I was really happy with the quality and taste.

It really just tasted like normal tomatoes.I had to put olive oil, garlic , salt and Basil with it to bring out the taste.Just as easy to make the sauce and better. Sorry!Service is alway excellent

Sauce review

Very tasty, nice consistency sauce.Family and friends perfer it over the classic.Saves time and mess over home made sauces and it comes in a can so easy to take camping.We make about 5 12" pizza's per can.

The real deal

This is the pizza topping that the best pizzerias in my area use (from catering sized cans of course). If it's good enough for them it's good enough for me, and having tried it at home it's the only one I'll use. Fresh dough and this sauce are the base for the most Italian tasting home pizzas I've ever made even if I mess up the other toppings.

The worst product I have bought from Waitrose

Our usual pizza base sauce has been unavailable for some time so we bought this one. What a mistake! Turns out it creates a very wet and uncooked pizza (the base sauce needs up to be dry)Did anyone at Waitrose try this product before they put it on the shelf? The problem with a sauce like this is that if it’s poor quality it will spoil all the other ingredients. Sadly our pizzas were unedible, all the other Waitrose products we put with it were ruined and our evening meal didn’t happen.If that wasn’t bad enough we bought 2 tins of the stuff!!!!!Easily the worst product we have ever bought from Waitrose, please take it off the shelves.

Too wet

It's too wet, at nearly 20% added water. Just use the Mutti Polpa Finely Chopped Tomatoes instead - adding salt and pepper (plus a little bit of oregano, to taste). It makes for a richer sauce and a crisper pizza.

Very Watery

Made pizza last night & thought I would try this Mutti Pizza Sauce instead of making my own. Found it to be very watery which meant other ingredients seemed to slide off the pizza. If I use again I will cook it down to thicken it. Good flavour but terrible consistency.
