top… brilliant. What a waste of my money and my time- I will not order from Nars again and will strongly advise against anyone who is considering.... Show more

Choosing a lipstick shade has been SO difficult for me lately. I've gone through a lot of makeup trend "phases" but I just turned 40 and have recently been using softer shades. I never wear bold or bright lipstick and have been leaning more toward tinted balms or stains. But after trying a few different brands they have been either too brown, too red, or too bright/bold. Or they wear off quickly. I was looking for something that would boost my natural lip color... less like a balm and more like lipstick but not look cakey or matte. The formula on these are fine; hydrating, lightweight, very summer friendly assuming you don't mind reapplying frequently. However, I returned both shades (Devotion and Turned On) as they were extremely warm toned. Devotion was described as a mauve rose, but was essentially brown. I generally like these types of glossy, semi-sheer formulas but this doesn't compare to my favorites which are the Chantecaille Lip Chics, which wear better and have a better color selection. Since my issue was mainly on color/undertone I would have normally rated this 3 stars, but I took off one star due to the cap constantly popping open for the brief few days this was in my bag. The packaging on this is cheap by Nars standards and I can't recommend it if you plan to carry it with you ... Great product, inaccurate shades

The product goes on well and has a nice sheen. However, should have listened to the reviews. Product does not match shade on the website or packaging. I've seen responses to reviews saying color may look different on different skin tones, but this isn't the case. You can see the color of the lipstick is completely different than what is represented. Devotion was by far the most off. The actual product definitely skews more brown/brick than mauve. Not even the same range. It's almost as if there was a production run that got messed up. I also bought dolce vita and turned on. Those two were slightly off, but not nearly as bad. This stuff is special. I have about a billion hydrating lip products but this will go to the top 5 in my favorites. If it had SPF it would be number one. It's so hard to find hydration/color lip products with SPF but it shouldn't be. Kiehl's had one but discontinued it, I loved that stuff. Fresh had one but that stuff turns to mush in the heat and THEY STOPPED PUTTING SPF IN IT. In the meantime, I got this in "Dolce Vita" and it is just a hint of dusty rose, sheer but the hydration stays with me longer than most products. Love that it's not sticky. Does't seem like it will melt in my purse. I'm not a fan of shine on my lips but luckily this one isn't overpowering. Overpriced and Poor Quality vs Lipstick

This is not the standard Nars Lipstick. Not even close. Dolce Vita has always been my favourite shade of lipstick but Sephora no longer has it in store in the lipstick. Instead all they have is this which is not a stick but a gloss. It is super sheer and it fades very very quickly. One kiss and it’s gone entirely. Plus the cost has gone up significantly as this packaging contains less than half of the amount of product than the regular lipstick. This is a terrible move for consumers. Less lower quality product for a higher price. No thank you.... Show more

The product packaging is beautiful. It has a heavy weight to it and it's easy to fit anywhere since it's nice and thin.The formula, however, could be better in my personal opinion. I have natural lips that tend to have lines and they are a bit dry and this does very little to nourish them (not that it claims to be a treatment or plump your lips by any means). I prefer nourishing tinted balms that slightly fill in the lines and leave my lips cushiony. This isn't it.Overall, it has a very thin balm-like consistency and it has a sheer tint. I didn't pick up a fragrance or taste. This is nice to toss in your purse when you want to through something on for a natural look.... Show more

Let me start off by saying I am not a big lipstick person. I don't wear it on a daily basis, mostly because I don't like how lipstick looks on me. My friends and family also agree that lip color just doesn't compliment my look. My lips are skinny and most colors just accentuate how small they are. ENTER this Nars Afterglow Lipstick. If you like the afterglow lip balm, but want something with a smidge more pigment, this is for you! Beware though, the Orgasm shade in this line up is not equivalent to the lip balm. Overall, this is definitely a medium pigmented lip product. I have relentlessly dry lips - this doesn't dry my lips and is more forgiving than a lot of lipsticks. Its definitely not an apply once and forget about it all day kind of lippie, but its easy reapply and fades gently. The fancy luxe metal cases are my favorite, but I am sure there are similar products out there in less fancy cases for half the price. I am kind of annoyed the cases are all the same color because I can't tell which one I am grabbing without closely examining the sticker on the bottom or opening it. As for the ... The orgasm lip balm is a cool toned pink which I love, but the orgasm sensual shine is straight up pinkish/orange peach when applied which isn't flattering on me. It makes my lips look washed out almost. Dolce vita is more of a cool tone natural pink mauve (reminds me of another lippie I have called pink chocolate). Nars Dolce Vita in their original lipstick formula--that appears to be discontinued--has been my favorite dusty rose/nude lipstick for a while, the only caveat being that it can easily break. I was excited to see this product in this new packaging, which would prevent the breakage that can happen with their original lipstick packaging. I was hoping this would be the same formula as my favorite lipstick since it seemed that their sheer lipsticks were being discontinued in the original formula. That is not the case.
