This advertisement for this product is absolutely misleading, even false. I ordered the shade ‘On Edge’ expecting a warm pink as written in the description and showed on the images, however what I received was a very unflattering and unpleasant pure orange lipstick. The colour is horrid, and so far from what Nars is advertising it to be. To further worsen the issue, after calling customer service with my complaint I was denied a refund but I was offered the amazing tip of just wearing it but with another colour lipstick on top… brilliant. What a waste of my money and my time- I will not order from Nars again and will strongly advise against anyone who is considering.

Choosing a lipstick shade has been SO difficult for me lately. I've gone through a lot of makeup trend "phases" but I just turned 40 and have recently been using softer shades. However, I returned both shades (Devotion and Turned On) as they were extremely warm toned. Devotion was described as a mauve rose, but was essentially brown. The product goes on well and has a nice sheen. However, should have listened to the reviews. Product does not match shade on the website or packaging. I've seen responses to reviews saying color may look different on different skin tones, but this isn't the case. You can see the color of the lipstick is completely different than what is represented. Devotion was by far the most off. The actual product definitely skews more brown/brick than mauve. Not even the same range. It's almost as if there was a production run that got messed up. I also bought dolce vita and turned on. Those two were slightly off, but not nearly as bad. Disappointed because I was really excited about devotion.

This is not the standard Nars Lipstick. Not even close. Dolce Vita has always been my favourite shade of lipstick but Sephora no longer has it in store in the lipstick. Instead all they have is this which is not a stick but a gloss. It is super sheer and it fades very very quickly. One kiss and it’s gone entirely. Plus the cost has gone up significantly as this packaging contains less than half of the amount of product than the regular lipstick. This is a terrible move for consumers. Less lower quality product for a higher price. No thank you.
If you like the afterglow lip balm, but want something with a smidge more pigment, this is for you! Beware though, the Orgasm shade in this line up is not equivalent to the lip balm. Overall, this is definitely a medium pigmented lip product. I have relentlessly dry lips - this doesn't dry my lips and is more forgiving than a lot of lipsticks. Its definitely not an apply once and forget about it all day kind of lippie, but its easy reapply and fades gently. The fancy luxe metal cases are my favorite, but I am sure there are similar products out there in less fancy cases for half the price. Dolce vita is a winner for me, but still some how not quite what I expected. Hopefully I can swatch the shades in person before buying next time.

The product packaging is beautiful. It has a heavy weight to it and it's easy to fit anywhere since it's nice and thin.The formula, however, could be better in my personal opinion. I have natural lips that tend to have lines and they are a bit dry and this does very little to nourish them (not that it claims to be a treatment or plump your lips by any means). I prefer nourishing tinted balms that slightly fill in the lines and leave my lips cushiony. This isn't it.Overall, it has a very thin balm-like consistency and it has a sheer tint. I didn't pick up a fragrance or taste. This is nice to toss in your purse when you want to through something on for a natural look.
