NeilMed Wound Wash 177ml

Hello, We tried this product on a ankle scrape and my skin took an allergic reaction to the sodium choloride wound wash. The next day I developed three skin ulcers that are very sore and painful. I am able to work and get around allright but the damage is slow healing. Our doctor said about three months but no major or permanent damage to the ankle or skin. We are treating the skin ulcers with neosporin and A and D ointment to relieve the ulcers and skin rash. There is a lot of drainage and swelling combined with the ulcers too. We feel this product is not safe for everyone to use. We contacted Neil Med but they never replied back yet!

A great solution for piercings

I don’t know what it is about piercings, but I love them! The other day I just got three fresh piercings: one helix and one in each of my third lobes. Because all three of my piercings were on thicker lobes of my ears, the piercer advised me to be more cautious when caring for them. I’ve had issues in the past, so I knew that I needed to find a really good solution that would prevent infection but also stay within my budget (I had already spent a lot on the piercings themselves). When I got home, I opened up my computer and began my search. After some time, I came across one product that served the same purpose as the others, but at a lower cost: NeilCleanse wound wash for $6! I questioned myself. Are low-cost items truly any good? I made a quick trip to Walmart, and there they were, expensive ear piercing solutions and cheap wound wash products right next to each other. I went back and forth in my head but ended up walking out of the store with the $6 NeilCleanse wound wash, and I’m glad I did!When I brought the bag home, I didn’t have big expectations or anything. I was just hoping it would do the job. Right off the bat, the nozzle is one aspect of the product that I had problems with. The nozzle was difficult to press down on to release the solution, and the whole top actually broke off. I had to stick it back on, and I can still use it by pressing firmly on the nozzle, but it sucks that I had to press so hard and at exactly the right point to get anything to come out. That’s really the only negative about this product, and maybe it was just a bad bottle, but it contains a sufficient amount of the product (it lasted me about a month) at an affordable price, so it was worth it to me.I used it for a few days and it was by far the easiest piercing recovery I'd ever had in such a short amount of time. Other solutions caused my ear piercing to become infected in just a few days due to the strong ingredients and slowed down my piercing recovery, but not NeilCleanse wound wash. In the past, I've used h20cean’s piercing solution which contained sea salt and lysozyme. This product made my ear piercing irritated and the ingredients felt too rough on my piercings. On the other hand, the NeilCleanse wound wash contains grade water and sodium chloride. These ingredients are very different from the h20cean’s piercing solution but less harsh on the skin and are very effective when it comes to cleaning the freshly pierced area.Overall, I think the solution is great, but the nozzle can be annoying. I have suggested this product to several family members, and they like it too. This is the only product I've been using for the past 3 months and I don't think I'll switch to a different product even though the nozzle situation can make me rethink my choices. Good for Wound

I stepped on a pitchfork and had a massive wound. Was told to clean with saline wound care on top of other treatments. This works great and I love the pressure. Has very high pressure so it really cleans the wound. Only issue I have is it last two days. I wish it last longer or I could buy a larger size. Cost does get expensive.

Good wash, bad container

The wash worked well on my newly pierced ears but the spray container was terrible. The first one I bought had a broken sprayer so I took it back and got a replacement. With the second one, if I didn’t keep it totally upright, the liquid spilled out around the sprayer. I didn’t get much out of it but my piercings had healed by the time it ran out.

Here’s a solution!

I actually read the reviews when I brought this for a piercing of mines. It does squirt out a lot, so much that it caught me of guard. I sprayed the solution into the cap and followed up with a cotton swab and it’s working pretty well in my favor. Some people stated that it doesn’t have a stinging, however, I felt minor pain from my wound when I put the solution on. However, I have no complaints. I just wouldn’t want someone to expect this solution to work as a numbing solution when it’s doesn’t work like that. It does the job! Just try spraying in the cap and then using cotton swab or anything of your choice if you would like the solution to last longer.

Outrageously overpriced product, but does the job

Dealing with a wound is no fun, %26 finding affordable wound care supplies is difficult but absolutely necessary. After paying thru the nose at CVS etc, I found this product at Walmart. To clean my whole wound area properly, it literally takes me the entire can. So every time i clean my wound it was costing me $6 just in saline solution alone.That's all that's in here, sterilized salt water. $6 for a couple ounces. Yes I guess it's somehow pressurized, but if you have a chronic wound there's just no way to keep up w the cost of this product.Finally I came up w my own idea, I sterilized a spray bottle w rubbing alcohol inside %26 out, found some sterile saline solution at an online medical supply store, %26 now instead of $6 for 4oz or whatever this can is of ... MoreDealing with a wound is no fun, %26 finding affordable wound care supplies is difficult but absolutely necessary. Also you can make your own sterile saline solution, but I haven't tried that yet. Just sharing tips because I know life with a wound is expensive %26 hard.All that said though, this product does what it says, it comes well-sealed, %26 works great to clean your wound. It just comes at an outrageous price.p.s. To make it more comfortable to use, warm the Neil's canister under warm running water or by holding it in your hands for a few minutes before using. That way the saline doesn't come out ice cold %26 shock your wound.

Piercing cleaner

Like most..I purchased this product to clean and treat my new ear piercings. Initially was a little hesitant as the name states “wound wash”; however, if you think about it aren’t piercings a wound that you treat thus it heals properly! For piercings, I would advise spraying the solution into the cap so you’re not wasting product. The spray attachment only does stream no mist or sprayer option hence, the solution dripping down everywhere. It works for the intended purpose and I had no issues. To assist in removing all the crusty dried blood and flakes drip or soak cuticle q-tips into the capped solution and place it on the area.

Sprays out like water to a firehose.

This is good for piercing areas. Ive done my own piercings and have used this product alot. Only reason for the four stars, it sprays out like water coming out of a firehose. So j7st a small bit of advice. Take a small cup, or a sauce dish and spray the small amount you need to put on your pierced areas. Place a qtip in the solution and clean the areas inside and out. This does help with healing faster.

Works great.

I purchased this for cleaning my piercings. I usually use the regular Neil Med piercing aftercare spray , but this has the same ingredients and is a lot cheaper so I use this in between. The regular Neil med piercing aftercare spray is harder to find and I only get it when I’m available to see my piercer. Harder to find in a lot of other places.

Works!

I had a bad injury to the top of my hand where a large piece if skin was peeled back. There was no way I was going to be able to wash it with any type of soap. I went to the store and spoke with the pharmacist about it and he said because it was saline it would sting, even though the info says it doesn't. I decided to try it anyway and I didn't feel a thing. I used it twice a day and applied petroleum jelly to the top and bandaged tightly. After about 10 days I was completely healed without any redness or infection. It does spray oddly but even after how much I used I believe there is still a lot left. I went back and bought a second can so I can always have it on hand. Definitely recommend.
