Great bang for the buck - there are no other bags this quality in this price range. Used them in the rain for camping and no leaks. Not as bombproof as high end adventure bags but fraction of the cost. They are velcro'd on. They are designed to go over the seat but I rigged them to velcro to my side racks directly. I actually cut some pieces of plywood to match the outline of the bags and keep them stretched out and maintain their shape better. Painted the plywood black so no one will notice.

Mounting isn't as difficult as some of the other reviews would suggest, same with opening and closing the bags. I have had these bags on my DR for ~4000 km over the last month doing 50/50 on-road and off-road riding. I have used them in heavy rain and they kept my belongings dry and secure. However, I would recommend these bags for ON ROAD RIDING ONLY. These bags use very thin material, making them fragile and easily torn. I have numerous holes in the bottom of each bag from riding gravel roads above 60 km/h. They also have tears and abrasions on the sides from bushwhacking when trail riding. I will be patching these bags up to make them water-tight again until I can get a better replacement. You definitely get what you pay for! If you are interested in these bags ... MoreMounting isn't as difficult as some of the other reviews would suggest, same with opening and closing the bags. Very good looking bags and great quality. They're fit onto a 2020 Tiger 1200 with really no issues. Like some have said, you need to have already the bike specific pannier brackets for these to be mounted on. Took some time to make the straps look neat but came out looking great. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because the buckles it came with are more like hooks. I just added some no-sew clips onto the loops and now it works better and feels more secure. They also allow for not using the top two straps making it easier for someone like me who goes into the bags several times a day. Got them online for a great deal which was a plus.

Used on Tiger 850 Sport. These are easy to mount to bike and they hold a lot of gear. Kept everything dry in two days of rain, too. Great quality--I have other Nelson Rigg gear that is also good. No complaints about quality. I like the roll top--it allows the bag to flex a bit to accommodate extra gear, if need be. For me, this is a great bag and a great value.
They're really good bags, can hold a lot of gear. Yes, they're not easy to put on and take off, but it's not that terrible. The one thing that bothers me is the lack of any heat protection for the right bag, which sits right on top of my exhaust. Had to rig it with a bunch of heat reflective tape and duct tape, hope it holds, but by the time I realized the heat had already done some damage to the bottom of the bag and inside reinforcement. Other than that, great bang for you buck, just make sure there's no heat directed to them, or try to figure out some heat shield or something.
Sturdy and very well made. The inserts maintain the bag shape. They include an inside tote bag so you easily remove your belongings. Purchased when on sale and used my RPM cash so got a great deal! Just awaiting my pannier luggage rack to arrive so they can be installed. '23 Triumph Tiger 1200 GT Pro.
Purchased the Nelson Rigg Deluxe Adventure Dry bags to mount on a Suzuki DR650 with a Cycleracks rear rack and very minimalist L-shaped brackets (with aluminum heat shield muffler side) for a 9500 km trip to Tuktoyaktuk. Very pleased with the quality of construction, simple design and nice touches. Among those nice touches: the internal stiffeners, the elastic strap keepers and removable inner bags which greatly ease loading/unloading.It took several mountings to get the fit just right, but thanks to the strong, simple straps and mounting points, it was easy to come up wih a system that is secure and prevents unnecessary wear and tear on the equipment. The protective pads on the bike side of the bags are flexible enough to conform to each bikes’ individual contours. The metal “G” buckles and cam locks held secure without loosening over long days and rough terrain. The extra long “ over the top “ straps will prove useful as i expand my luggage. All my equipment stayed dry throughout the trip despite rain and mud and hose offs; as long as the roll top is done properly and secured there should be no reason for it to fail.I did use a single Rokstrap over each of the bags for extra peace of mind to satisfy my inner Boy Scout. The only comment i have, and not a complaint, is that it takes the straps a while to break in and lose their intial stiffness to tension though the “G” straps . . . First world problem! All in all , super happy i bought these bags and look forward to many more trips, i am sure they will age well!
Great bags! Nelson Rigg has been around a long time and seemingly has things figured out. Bought these saddle bags 4 years ago to lighten the load when going off road.I do have metal racks that my hard bags attach to, so that helps these Nelson Rigg soft bags fit better by giving the straps plenty of places to attach to. They conform very well to the bike and fit is very secure. Straps included are placed so you can customize the fit of the bags on the bike. Was afraid purchasing the black color I would not be able to find things inside the bags. (One place 'motorcyle black' doesn't work). But the gray/silver liner bags that come with the purchase are a great visual aide for finding things inside. Riding year-round on Vancouver Island, I really need waterproof bags. With a limited budget, these bags are perfect for what I need. Water/dust proof, tough material, and cheaper than most of the other options I could find. They have a lefthand bag and a righthand bag. The shape is symmetrical, but the reflector strips are on the back of each bag and not the front, and the attachment straps require a left and right bag to make installation possible. The install was pretty easy. I took a few moments to re-route some of the straps after my first ride to optimize the height of the bags on my bike, but that was a very simple and intuitive process. The only drawback I found after my first all-day ride was the four G-buckle straps for closing the bags. Having to undo all four hooked G-buckles every time I wanted to open the bag was more tedious than my junky old bags with zippers, so I won't give a perfect score. But I also will keep these on my bike because of the huge amount of storage and the water/dust proof qualities. Absolutely worth it, especially considering the price. The lightweight saddlebag liners are not a tough material, but the fact that they are included was a very nice bonus for me. I used them for my picnic on my first long ride with them, and I have to say I really appreciated the convenience.I checked the box that I would recommend them to a friend, as long as they don't mind the four buckles for opening/closing.
Just rolled over 4000 miles and two months through Mexico. Bags have held up great. Easy fit and access. They really impressed me yesterday when a car accidentally side swiped me. Me and the bike (09 Yamaha XT250) were fine, no damage. The bag took all the hit. A bit scuffed and a couple loose stiches on the logo. The integrity of the bag held up. No real damage, just a cool battle scar that mostly rubbed off later. The car has a huge black skid mark down the side now. Absolutely amazed that the bag not only survived but is good to go for more travel. It saved my leg and probably my bike, not to mention my adventure from Arizona to Panama and back.
