I used the Nemo Dagger for 9 nights so far and find it to be a very capable tent. It has withstood a lot of rain those evenings and never a drop of water in the tent. The OSMO fabric is great. The Dagger is a reasonably large 2P tent and almost comfortable for two people (I am 300 lbs, so that means something). The head space is fantastic. At first, I wasn't a fan of the Landing Zone, but now I appreciate it even though I will not take it on hikes.I really like the way you can roll up the rail fly and doors. These clips are fantastic for that and the design is very thoughtful here. This is important, because with the rain fly fully deployed, you almost have to crawl into the tent. Better now but still occasionally have trouble. I think it works extremely well with the poles. In the end, the Dagger is a great tent that does it all.

Flimsy - very disappointed.

Regardless, I still got a large hole on the bottom of the tent! For such a pricey tent, I am very disappointed, and frankly angry, that it damages so easily. Nemo sent me some patches free of charge instead. I am glad they did, but it doesn’t address the fact that the tent is not durable enough to be used for what it was designed for.

I was nice and dry inside the tend except for the puddle of sweat I was sleeping in. I had the tent as vented as much as I could given the chance of rain and my PNW blood doesn't do well in the hot temperatures. On the few cooler nights I had the fly fully steaked out (again PNW). I struggle every time to roll it up tight enough to get it into the bag and there is no way you can fit the footprint in with the tent.I know weight is important when selling a tent but an ounce of fabric to make a slightly larger bag would be nice. I'm looking for a replacement bag now so I can pack it a little easier and it's not so compressed in the off season. Anyone know where I can find the tent bag MSR uses for the Hubba Hubba?

Great general 3-season tent with nice features
1 March 2022

This is a great 3-season tent with well-thought-out creature comforts. I slept in it for 6 nights with my dog in Southern California during the month of February in three different places; Desert, Forest, and Alpine. Love the lifetime warranty, and it's nice to see the outdoor industry finally moving away from harmful chemicals.I wouldn't hesitate to use it again if I were backpacking with another person, my dog, or if I had planned a route that wasn't particularly ambitious, did not have much vertical gain, and going ultralight wasn't a priority. I don't consider this an ultralight tent, as the website says, but it's certainly light for the comfort and features it provides. I don't consider this an ultralight tent, as the website says, but it's certainly light for the comfort and features it provides. I'll probably use this when I take my mom or sister backpacking. It's roomy, comfortable, and very intuitive to set up. I didn't even look at the instructions and I had it set up in about 3 minutes, which is great. The comfort/convenience features are what really stood out to me. There are lots of pockets for your phone, maps, lights, etc. and the well-placed use of varied fabrics on the inner tent makes it effective at blocking wind, spindrift, and sand. This would be a good choice for a desert/beach trip where you really want bug protection and sand protection. If you love looking at stars, then this fits the bill perfectly too.It would do well in a mild winter environment without much snow loading or violent winds. This is probably not a shelter I'd feel very secure in above treeline in any kind of heinous conditions, but it's not made for that either. I did not test it in any conditions that would create a lot of condensation, but given that it's a double wall and there are ample ventilation options, I don't think that would be an issue.Ultimately, I wish there could be some changes made to it to make it more versatile and high-performing:1. I wish there was a way to set up the fly with just a footprint, without the inner if you were going somewhere without the need for an inner tent. It's clear you can do this with the Dagger predecessor, but if you can do it with this generation, it's not clear in the marketing or instructions. That's a missed opportunity to appeal to a broader audience.2. I don't think the stakes are that great, but that's not a big deal. They only have a hook on one side, are darkly colored (get lost easy), and are not that light either. I'd rather them just leave them out or include great stakes.3. The way the pole structure is all connected makes me worry a little about how I might repair it if one section breaks. Probably not likely, but it gave me pause.4. The pole receptors "Jakes Feet" would create a problem if one of them breaks. It might be nice to include a single replacement with the tent. Since they are all plastic, and I had some difficulty getting the fly to unclip from it, I worry they might snap eventually, which would force some creative MacGuyvering in the field.

Great tent

Finally got to use the tent on the six foot track, blue mountains.Going from an ultra lightweight 1 man (terra nova laser) to something more spacious to fit in my other half and we were both extremely pleased. The tent has a superb design, fool proof and speedy to set up. Very sturdy once assembled, especially for how lightweight. In fact, it feels not too dissimilar to a spaceship! Most importantly, the increase in space was just ridiculous. Like moving into a barn after living in an old bath tub. Much appreciated. Generous sleeping space and ample bag storage. (With two doors)I think they’ve really found a great balance in this tent, optimising space, weight and functionality to the nth degree. Long time review: weak zippers, weak coating, rain
4 August 2023

We used the older version of this tent (Dagger 2 without OSMO) during 85 nights of backpacking since we bought it 2019.We like:Easy to set up, fairly quiet and robust in strong wind, was fairly cheap at that time. What we don't like:1. Fragile zippers. Both zippers from the inner tent failed at the same time. Probably due to design-based tension on them, and bad quality. Will send the tent to Nemo for repair.2. The coating on the inside bottom starts pealing off. Obviously the sleeping map rubs too much. Should avoid rubbing activities, I guess. Maybe the new material is more robust.3. Whoever designed this should go on a hike in the storm-prone Pyrenees.4. Use a footprint. The floor is prone to little holes and abrasion.5. Creaks a little, when in gusts the somewhat sticky fly moves over the poles. Not a big complaint, though, but wer're afraid that the coating will be rubbed off by this.

I want to love this tent. The design is great for two people who want lots of space and dual entries. I’m a big dude so wanted the extra space of this tent versus competitors. Overall this delivered. It’s fine in the wind, pockets are decent, and the vestibules are big enough to hold all our gear. But…within a week of use the mesh fabric developed a couple small holes and one zipper started acting up. We cleaned (and cleaned) the zipper and lubed it andadjusted the zipper pull and it kept separating. After a couple weeks the pull broke. Two other zipper pulls are also doing the same thing. We are careful and not abusing them. I’ve owned a half dozen tents from different manufacturers and never had this kind of problem. The two person version is definitively big enough for you and someone you’re close to and you have enough room to sleep without touching but just a few inches between each other and I had a few inches at the end of the tent. For context I’m 5’11 195 pounds and my wife is 5’5 150 pounds. We set up and staked out the tent fully without using any guy lines and the very first night were caught in a severe thunderstorm. There was intense rain, lightning, and 20-30 mile winds for several hours before it died down and the tent didn’t even flinch. There was intense rain, lightning, and 20-30 mile winds for several hours before it died down and the tent didn’t even flinch. It handled the weather with ease, no leaking whatsoever, and we had good ventilation as well with no condensation. It dropped from the 80s to the 40s at night. That night is when I realized how important it is to have gear you can depend on and as of now I have complete faith in my Nemo Dagger Osmo. Keep in mind my tent wasn’t even using guy lines either. I did use MSR ground hog stakes so I can’t speak on the stakes that come with the tent and I had the dagger groundsheet as well. Once you attach it to the bottom of the tent you can just leave it attached when you tear it down so you don’t have to worry about it ever again. The vestibules on either side were roomy enough for my gear and my wife’s and it kept everything dry. The pockets inside are convenient and the nightlight pocket for your headlamp actually works and isn’t a gimmick. The tent is easy to carry between two people but probably a little much by yourself. I would still personally use this for solo backpacking but think others would find it heavy.

Frist: this tent seems all ideal in store and through its details but it was 100% not waterprooof , in fact it rained inside due to the condensation even when it wasnt raining outside. the cool tech fabric is only good on paper.Secondly: this tents door requires to hands to actually open it bc of the strained angles the zippers move at along the fabric, this seems like a detail that a tent doesn't need but trust me there is a reason most tents have a rounded door, the werid pulling angles of the doors arent only annoying bc of that they also take apox 4 days or less to have rips at the top tension point of the door bc of the same problem, the doors also have two zippers meeting at a point of a straight angle triangle (which means you cant seal it and thee is always ... MoreFrist: this tent seems all ideal in store and through its details but it was 100% not waterprooof , in fact it rained inside due to the condensation even when it wasnt raining outside. the cool tech fabric is only good on paper.Secondly: this tents door requires to hands to actually open it bc of the strained angles the zippers move at along the fabric, this seems like a detail that a tent doesn't need but trust me there is a reason most tents have a rounded door, the werid pulling angles of the doors arent only annoying bc of that they also take apox 4 days or less to have rips at the top tension point of the door bc of the same problem, the doors also have two zippers meeting at a point of a straight angle triangle (which means you cant seal it and thee is always a tiny space no seeums can get through).Thridly: the tent dispite being advertised as a free standing tent cannot be used as such bc all corners of the frame must be peged down bc of its fabric shape v.s the ways the poles fit and the bathtub bottum lays bc of its weird shape and the fly will never be peged up correctly due to the curved pattern pecices of the door. This seemed like the best tent on the market and ive loved my nemo tents in the past but this shows how much nemo has fallen from a trusted gear maker. why are alll outdoor commpanys just getting worse? i wish i could have read my review before purchasing. bc it seems like the people who did leave positive reviews are just 1once a year type of campers. For the price point nemo should be making something much better....maybe like their old tents?
