Nest Cam Indoor Security Camera

It’s a good indoor camera. Very easy to set up on your phone, to WiFi and installing it wherever it needs to be installed. I initially had this installed in my house and later installed it at our store, the transition and set up was very easy as well. I like that it detects and notifies you of any motion. The video quality is good too.

Great indoor camera! You can’t go wrong with Nest. The view is incredible. We put it on top of a kitchen cabinet and have a literal ariel view of the entire downstairs. The app is great and you can modify anything- turn it on/off for privacy with a click; change the zoning with a click. The audio is also great. It actually caught my sons first steps ♥️

The product is definitely more expensive than most smart security cameras available in Amazon. However, the nest cam app is very user friendly and intuitively designed. Kinda makes sense since it was originally founded by an engineer who worked at Apple and it is now owned by Google. The motion and sound alerts work very well too. This camera is definitely better than one of those cheap, never-heard-of-companys' security cameras. I know because I owned one before. The app UI was crappy, some options were only available in Chinese, etc, etc. In order to fully take advantage of this camera, you will need $50/year subscription + good wifi in your home because it will eat up your data at least 300GB per month if you decide to record everything in high quality. Love the Nest indoor cameras for monitoring our home and pets while we are away. The video quality is great, provides great night vision, motion detection provides alerts and that all comes from the mobile app. The shop quality is pretty good overall. Our only complaint is the ability to playback as it requires an additional fee for anything much longer than a few hours.

We have four of them around the house. I feel secure to have it since I can monitor my kids’s rooms, kitchen and living rooms. The motion detection is perfect. They have sent me the notifications when having motions. The video is quality to see not only real time but also review back for what happened and can zoom out. Audio is nice as well that can communicate each other. Mobile app interface is great and I can monitor our place at anywhere. Like it very much so far!

Nice little camera

I purchased these to use as out-facing cameras due to the fact my condo association does not allow outdoor cameras. I'm sure these are great for indoor use! These serve my purpose during the day, even though looking through the window screens doesn't give a crystal-clear picture. But, forget it at night, as soon as it gets dark, all you see is bright light. The reflection bouncing back off the window means you do not see ONE thing outside. But, they are probably a great crime deterrent as a person can see the glowing light. :) I now have four of these pointed in every direction, thus I do feel safer. Note to Google/Nest - it would be great if you could make these to be both a day and night vision camera for those that cannot have outdoor cameras!

Review of Nest Cam Smart Security Camera

Good Points: Bought this to use as a baby monitor, so far it has been priceless. We are able to watch the live feed, and receive notifications if sound or movement are detected. The microphone is incredibly sensitive when turned up fully, so I can hear my daughter breathing on the live feed (better than when I'm stood next to the crib in fact!). It has a 'talk', function which works well although I've not needed to use that yet. The picture is very clear, both in day and night mode. I've been so confident in the camera that I've felt able to leave my 11 week old in the room next door alone for 2 hours in the evening prior to me going to bed. Also, the camera is smart enough to tell you the difference between “your camera spotted someone” “your camera heard a dog barking” “your camera saw activity/movement” I can tel when UPS arrives because the dog barks at the front door and the camera (upstairs at the end of the hall) alerted me to the dog barking. Just a warning tho, they give you a free trial of Nest Aware which is amazing and it helped us sleep train our baby and report back to our son’s doctor/Occupational therapist what was going on at night and we could even substantiate it with video. We haven’t had it for about 3 weeks and I miss it! Not sure how long we can hold out not having Nest Aware. You’re unable to move the camera from the app, but it does have a decent viewing angle so we see everything we need to. But if you’re looking to be able to pan with the camera you may want the Nest cam IQ. I’d say happy camera system searching but you should really just stop here.

Useless without expesnive subscription

The quality is great no issues with the camera itself but its useless as a security camera without the subscription. I was led to believe the subscription was only needed to store 30 days worth of footage. I started to use this product and all was great until I lost certain features. I thought there was a problem with the camera but it transpired there was a free subscription that run out. They don't tell you about this free subscription so you think the product is great and then when the subscription has finished you cant take it back and you are forced to buy the expensive subscription otherwise the camera is useless. All it displays is a picture of the motion detected, no person alerts and no clip of what happened.
