The only thing that gives this a 4 star rather than 5 is that you need to use a Windows program to configure the switch. It would be much better if Netgear included a HTTP or HTTPS configuration utility rather than needing to install software. Overall it greatly increased the speed of my network. Now I just wish my whole home was wired! My setup is: Cable Modem > Cisco ASA 5505 > Netgear GS108PE. I then have a Cisco 1142N dual band PoE access point, a Dell laser printer, Windows 2012 R2 domain controller, and office computer hard wired. Pros: Not a bad 8 port switch for the money for home use. 4 of the 8 ports provide PoE. There are some management features such as port status, that provides the link speed, and Loop detection. The switch also provides very basic VLAN and QoS functions.Cons: Have set the default gateway to a 'dummy' IP as the switch is seemingly communicating to the Netgear Cloud which is not something I want it to do. For me manually updating the switch is not an issue.
Great value for Money, easy configuration, small footprint and does what it says on the tin.
There isn't much to say - there's nothing exciting about a PoE Switch! I'm satisfied that it does what I expected.

That was a beautiful plan and this Netgear plus switch more than admirably handles the job. Phone calls are crisp, clear, consistent without any detectable dropouts, ever! On top of the amazing SIP performance, the IP cam streams have been amazing with very minimal stuttering or loss of frame rate. This switch has four other Netgear switches connected to it and it forms the core backbone interconnecting the entire rack of equipment. It's a beautiful thing. Hence the five-star rating I give it! Thank you, Netgear, you all are my mainstay and the brand I always recommend. The only disappointment is I wish that you sold stickers with your name or logo on them I would buy them to put on my laptop and my toolboxes!
Powering some PoE cameras with this switch, works as intended. Netgear management software makes configuring the switches across multiple subnets pretty easy actually.
Powers my IP Phone, and Access Point with no issues.
