I purchased this Xlear brand of sinus rinse when I discovered that it had xylitol in it. This was an ingredient that I had seen only in gum a few years back. Our pediatrician suggested that my daughter chew gum with xylitol in it to help with her chronic ear infections. It helps to keep bacteria from sticking. I have not tried the rinse yet but was happy to purchase it and give it a try. If I find that it is anything other than excellent-- as I head into cold and sinus infection season (for me- early spring) I will change my review on here.

I, unfortunately, had sinus surgery (partial turbinectomy) 35 years ago due to constant headaches from sinus pressure. As soon as that happened, I then began what was to become a chronic sinus issue for me that continues today. Any cold or stress results in a sinus infection that lingers and lingers, that does not normally respond to antibiotics. I found the only way to remain infection free from day to day was to do a sinus rinse twice a day, in the morning and again in the evening. It does cause some stomach irritation for me, so I adjust my dose to ease that a bit. My doctor has me using 4 cups of boiled or distilled water at each rinse with a teaspoon of salt and baking soda to the water. To this mixture, I add 2 packets of the Xclear Sinus Care Solution packets. Although the product does not give me diarrhea, it does a real “roto rooter” to my colon., causing the colon to spasm a bit for me. This causes some discomfort, but does take care of my sinus infection.

Healed my 6yo son's chronic two-month-long sinus infection!!My son had a bacterial sinus infection with a high fever. I treated at home with some remedies (not xlear) for several weeks and it did not go away so we put him on antibiotics. The antibiotics (10 DAYS!) still did not clear the sinus infection. We tried some home remedies again to no avail. Finally, when researching I came across XLEAR and we did it morning and night for 3 weeks and his sinus infection was finally healed!!! I am thankful for XLEAR and now we have a backup pack in our cabinet at all times!

This product is truly awesome. I have been suffering from post nasal drip with constant coughing for more than 4 months.
