When I received this to try from influenster, I was super ecstatic! Now that I am 40 years old I get more excited about skin care products than make up. I couldn't wait to use this retinol product! I waited till the last possible moment to review so I could give a good review. First of all this cream made my skin so soft and feel moisturized without breaking me out or feeling oily. Perfect for the cold winter air. My skin also had a natural glow to it. The scent is faint, it says unscented but it does have a slight sent but nothing unpleasant. As far as lightening dark spots I can't really say that it makes a significant difference. I've been using for about 3 weeks at this point. If it makes a difference it is a very slight difference. The jar is heavy and the bottom of it is a very dark gray/black color and the lid is white. Upon opening the jar I noticed that the color of the night cream was an off white/cream color. The consistency is on the thicker side, the texture is creamy and there was no noticeable scent. It immediately felt so smooth and lightweight as I applied it on my face. I loved how quickly it absorbed while I massaged it into my skin. In the morning my skin felt soft, smooth, hydrated, brighter and overall healthier. I would definitely consider changing my regular night cream to the Neutrogena Rapid Wrinkle Repair Retinol Pro+ 0.3% Night Cream. Have been using for 2 weeks. I don't notice my dark circles getting less dark but I know retinol is good for my 45 year old skin that I have always worked hard to care for. I do use a different retinol serum on my face a few times a week. That, as well as this takes some getting used to. It is not necessarily harsh on your skin but it isn't always pleasant. It doesn't necessarily dry your skin out but you feel it in your fine lines - I suppose that means it is doing its thing. I will continue to use this product until it is gone and may buy it on my own as I really like Neutrogena. The packaging is nice - the pot is a heavier glass with a good lid. This eye cream must really work well and be a premium product because it recommended by Dermatologist! If you are looking for products that are organic or Clean I can say that the eye cream is Fragrance, Parabens, Phthalates, Mineral oil and Dye free. It clinically and Dermatologist Tested non comedogenic and is suitable for all skin types. As far as being able to say that this product is a clean product I don't think that you could considering it contains Retinol. Speaking of Retinol Neutrogena stats " this cream is out highest concentration cream containing 0.3% Pure Retinol. On the side of the box the cream came in not only will you find a full list of all the ingredients but you we'll also find an important notice just advising you that as with any Retinol product it is normal to temporarily experience mild redness, a warm tingling sensation, or flaking (skin exfoliation) if effects persist or cause discomfort reduce the frequency or use until your skin adjust then revert to daily use as tolerated. In case of irritation discontinue use. Avoid contact with eyes if contact occurs rinse well with water. Keep out of reach of children. If swallowed seek medical assistance. Be sure to always use a sunscreen and limit sun exposure while using this product. On the back of the packaging you will find a recommended regimen with detailed directions. It advises that first you cleanse your face and neck then you can apply the cream into your face and neck massaging into skin until absorbed. It again warns that retinal is a potent ingredient and that it is not recommended for Retinol users not for beginners. But it does say that you can build up a tolerance to Retinol so during the first it recommends applying the cream 2 to 3 times during the week in the evening on non-consecutive nights. Which means do not use two days in a row or 3 days in a row use one day skip use the next day skip and use the next day and then skip. During week two you can use it every other night. And then week three plus use nightly as tolerated. It is highly advised that while using retinol you should always protect your skin during the day with a broad spectrum SPF 30 sunscreen or higher. This might sound like something you might not want to do or it might scare you but Retinol, a form of vitamin A is a dermatologist proven powerhouse ingredient. It also is formulated with a soothing ingredient to help minimize the potential for irritation so if you were feeling a little worried about having a reaction this can tame your anxiety a little. Also in the Box it states the rapid results which are instantaneously softer smoother skin. In one week skin feels hydrated, looks brighter and healthier and in 4 weeks see firmer look and skin and improved look of fine lines and skin tone. This moisturizer is very potent but vigorously targets the look of even deep wrinkles and stubborn dark spots. Retinol is an extremely amazing product but what really works while using retinol is the everyday long-term using of it. If you are a beginner and are following the recommended schedule and you don't see results right away or instantaneously my advice to you is to just know that the use of retinal everyday is what you need to really get the best results. If you are looking to rapidly repair your wrinkles, get rid of stubborn dark spots or are just looking to add hydration to your dull, rough, dehydrated skin then I recommend that you seriously consider purchasing The Neutrogena Retinol Pro+. If you do decide to purchase this cream keep in mind that it isn't as expensive as the top of the line creams ex... La Mer, Kiehls, Skincueticals etc... But it also isn't a $20 cream. Be prepared to spend around $30-$50 USD. Which to me is a fair price considering the product works as well as it is said to.
