Neutrogena Rapid Wrinkle Repair Retinol Oil 30 ml

This review is for the Neutrogena Rapid Wrinkle Repair Retinol Pro+ . 5% Power Serum. This product is beyond amazing. I wish I had before and after pics. It has taken my skin from dull, rough and acne stricken to super soft, smooth and glowing in only about 1.5-2 weeks. I had a pimple coming in on my face, a mean one, so I put some of this oil serum on it in the morning and by dinner time it was no longer a concern. The lines under my eyes have started to disappear. It has improved every skin concern I had! I still have my dark scars, but with continued use I believe they will fade. I will use this stuff until they don't sell it anymore. One of the best things I've found so far.

0.3% pure retinol

This is an oil serum with with 0.3% pure retinol and Vitamin E, and comes in a bottle with a push button dropper. Retinol is an ingredient that is prized for anti-aging but the difficulty is in formulation, as it is a very unstable ingredient that degrades quickly. I decided to give this a go after learning that Neutrogena does stability testing and their retinol is slow release. This product has 12 months POA on the label. The Ordinary's pure retinol (not their granactive retinoid products) formulas, on the other hand, have to be stored in the fridge and 3 months POA. This product is good for those who want a decent percentage of retinol in their product. Beginners can probably tolerate it if their skin is not too sensitive. It's easily available over the counter at pharmacies and even supermarkets and is often on sale. For me personally, it's not quite strong enough to have any effect. I will try the 0.5% Pro+ version soon.

A dud for me

Meh. I wanted a serum product to use on a larger area (decolletage and neck) because its easier to dispense and spread. Noticed it said retinol OIL but I read the ingredients and didn't see an oil in it, so I bought it. It is very oily and greasy, don't like the texture. Not only that but the dispenser is cheap and doesn't keep the oil in until you push it out, so the second you pull the dropper out of the bottle it starts dripping everywhere. Inevitability, oil gets on the outside of the cap and it is such a slippery plastic that its hard to hold and deal with while its so oily. I have used L'Oreal retinol serum before and liked the texture and the dropper doesn't leak. I will go back to that and won't buy this again.

Contains 0.3% Retinol

This retinol product from Neutrogena contains 0.3% pure retinol. It comes with a push-button dropper for easy dispensation. The product feels a little oily at first but absorbs fully on my combination skin after 30 minutes, and I can still apply moisturiser after. Even though it has fragrance, it is barely noticeable and I experience no irritation using it nightly. Retinol is the gold standard ingredient for anti-aging This is a good product with a decent percentage of retinol that should suit beginners. There is also a newly released pro version with 0.5% retinol which I will move up to. It's one of the best off the shelf retinol products you can buy at the chemist/pharmacy that's reasonably priced and often on sale.

Great introduction to retinol

This is a great product to use to introduce retinol to your skincare routine. The oil base is really nourishing which helps stop dryness that retinol can cause. The product soaks in quickly and doesn't leave any residue. There isn't a noticeable smell which is nice. The dropper is super handy for dispensing the right amount without making a mess. Product spreads well and you don't need to use very much. Once the normal retinol purge was done I noticed a great difference in my skin. Plumper, tighter and looking more hydrated. Love this product!

The Neutrogena Rapid Wrinkle Repair® Retinol Pro+ .5% Power Serum is excellent. I am over the moon that I was able to try it, and it is really good. I love the bottle and the dropper. The dropper and button on top makes it easy to get the perfect amount needed. The serum is very lightweight, non greasy, non sticky, and absorbs easily. I had no issues with irritation, and love that the formula is gentle on the skin. I apply the serum after washing my face, and it always leaves my skin glowing. In about a week, I could see a significant difference in my skin. My skin was clearer, softer, plump, glowy, and smoother. My dark spots have lightened with prolonged use, and I hope they continue to fade. After cleansing my skin at night I disperse 4-5 drops of the Rapid Wrinkle Repair® Retinol Oil to my skin by using the dropper to drop the oil into the palm of my hand then using my fingertips I gently massage it into my face using circular motions. The oil is sweet in smell, absorbs really well and efficiently into my skin leaving no residue or a oily shine. As someone with combination skin it can be hard to find oils that work for me, this just does. When I have used retinol serums before i usually need to really use them gradually otherwise I can look a bit flushed and will almost always having some dry skin and peel, this also didn’t happen with this oil to be extra cautious I did begin using it on alternate days but quickly realised I could use it daily. As it is enriched with retinol SA it provides faster results then some other forms of retinol alone. After using this for over a month I definitely have noticed a difference in my skin. Overall there is a a much better skin tone, colour my skin appears my hydrated the fine lines are more plump and skin appears smoother. I would definitely recommend this oil to those wanting anti-aging results with other skincare benefits such a improved appearance of skin and fine lines/wrinkles.

Not a fan...

I used (and loved!) Neutrogena Healthy Skin Anti-Wrinkle Cream for 24 years until it was recently discontinued. Why, Lord? Why! It absolutely changed the poor condition of my skin. Now my skin is suffering its loss. Since then, I've unfortunately been forced to find a comparable retinol product that suits my aging skin. Staying with Neutrogena, I decided to try this "oil" with hopes of achieving similar results while layering with a basic Neutrogena moisturizer. Well, that's been a flop. This oil has caused me to breakout, a few pimples at age 51...ugh! And it's not hormones, already been through that stage of life. For me, this product was a surefire, $25 disappointment. So now I'm ordering the Neutrogena Rapid Wrinkle Repair Hyaluronic Acid

Very effective anti-aging serum

This Neutrogena Rapid Wrinkle Repair Retinol Pro+ .5% Power Serum is just perfect for my aging skin. This serum has quickly become the favorite part of my nightly skin care routine. This potent skin-nourishing serum contains 0.5% pure Retinol. I use it at night after cleaning my face. The serum really goes on so smoothly and absorbs fast. It has more of an oily texture but it does not leave my skin feeling greasy or sticky and it feels lightweight on my skin. It has a refreshing, clean scent. It really makes my skin feel so soft. It is easy to use because of the dropper. I only need four to five small drops so this bottle really goes a long way. Wishful hopes crashed

Tried this product as an upgrade from the Neutrogena Rapid Repair Serum. I've always been a fan of Neutrogena products. But this product has my ideas swaying differently. Needless to say, after 2 uses, I will have to discharge this bottle! I am extremely careful in how I apply my products. HIGH skin irritation and made dry spots on my face worse. Hours after I apply serum, if anything grazes my face, feels like open Jalapenos just touched my face- burning sensation to the highest degree!! Face turns red and just burns. If I try to wash it off, will worsen the burning sensation. Not satisfied whatsoever!
