Neutrogena Ultra Light Cleansing Oil, 4 fl. oz

My DHC Deep Cleansing Oil was almost over, I decided to get the Neutrogena Ultra Light And test it to see if it would be a good substitute. I got mine at Target for $8, which I consider a good price comparing to the previous one. I gotta say it totally exceeded my expectations. The texture is more fluid than DHC's and the fragrance is really good and delicate, comparing to the olive oil scent that is kinda strong in DHC's. Effortlessly, it removed my make up in seconds, including my waterproof mascara (Maybelline's Sky High), which was a bit of an ordeal with the other cleansing oil. I strongly recommend it if you're looking for a new cleansing oil to add to your routine.

I've been using this cleansing oil for a few years now, and it's def one of the best! I've used it against the most stubborn waterproof mascaras, matte lipstick, etc and it always melts everything off. I know some people like to emulsify it to use, but I find it works best if you put a couple pumps into your hand and work it onto your face in circular motions. Once I see it has melted off my makeup, I just rinse and follow up with a gel cleanser. The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is because I have to be careful around the eye area. It doesn't sting your eyes, but it does cause slight discomfort. Also, I wish it came in a bigger size!!

This oil is gentle on skin. It has little to no fragrance and it leaves no trace of makeup or oil behind when rinsed off with water, per the directions on the bottle. The packaging is nice because it has a pump dispenser. 2 pumps cleans a full face of makeup, including all eye makeup products. I apply the oil to dry face with makeup on. Spread the oil around over entire face and eyes and then moisten with wet hands and continue to work the oil in circulation motion over face and eyes. I finish with splashing face with tepid water and pat dry with a towel. This works so well that there is no trace of makeup left on the towel! This cleansing oil as comparable or superior to high end brands which I have tried. The pump packaging makes if a pleasure to use.

Okay so this product isn’t for kids. I used it for myself everyday and I have sensitive skin that breaks out easily. This took off my waterproof makeup easily and washed off completely in the shower with minimal face wash and no scrubbing needed. Now imagine my surprise when I find out my expressive diva found her way into the waterproof Halloween makeup, I cringed thinking about how I was going to have to do several washes to get this all off. Her poor skin! Then I remembered this cleansing oil. Let me tell you… I was blown away!!! I rubbed a dime size gently over her entire face and I could instantly see the pink lifting. I used warm water and a soft wash cloth to gently wipe it all off in one go. Her skin was glowing and soft for days following. I need to buy more!!

Great budget oil cleanser

It's gentle, non-drying, and removes dirt and makeup very well. It is not advisable for eye makeup removal - use designated product for that. One pump is sufficient for entire face and neck. I use a wet wash cloth to gently remove product and exfoliate. One bottle lasts a few months.Most cleansers dry out and strip my skin leaving it more prone to breaking out as skin barrier is compromised. Other cleansing oils are wonderful, but this one does the same job on a budget.

In love with soft skin

I started using the Cleansing Oil because another brand had changed their formula and my skin started feeling tight and dry. I tried several different products and was excited to get the results I did. My skin felt clean, without that squeeky clean feel, smooth and soft. I have a toner which I use afterward and if I don't get all my makeup off, it will show. The Cleansing Oil removed all my makeup with no problem.I put a couple of squirts in my dry hand and rub it all over my face. It is great for eye makeup. Most Affordable and Effective Cleansing Oil

I do wear a fair amount of makeup on most days, and I cannot live without this oil cleansing at the end of each day. Glides on so smoothly and dissolves the makeup efficiently, even my waterproof mascara. I just sit down for a couple of minutes and enjoy gently massaging my face until makeup is fully off. After washing off with warm water, I generally use a gentle foam face wash to make sure all the cleansing oil is off, followed by toner and moisturizer. I’ve been doing this for years now, and this has worked best for my combination skin. I’ve tried some other cleansing oil in the US, but so far, this is the most effective and affordable option. Honestly, I think it works far better than brand names that are more expensive. STRONG scented product - not for rosacea/sensitive skin

Got this while waiting for another sensitive skin-friendly cleansing oil. Unknowingly bought this, which has very strong scent - must rinse off very thoroughly. It left my face and hairline pin-prickly itchy until rinsed off again completely. Skin blotchy red, but didn't trigger breakout. Product probably great otherwise, with light oil consistency and got my cc cream off completely.

Seems to work but not fragrance-free

This is the first cleansing oil that I've tried, so I can't say how it fares compared to other cleansing oils. I do not wear much makeup, and usually micellar water & face cleanser, which removed whatever I was wearing very well. However, on days that I wear something like CC cream for more coverage, the micellar water wasn't removing the makeup as well. So, wanted to try a cleansing oil, and picked Neutrogena since it's much cheaper than other brands that run $40. It seems to work better in removing makeup, except my waterproof eyeliner. I still need to use my eye makeup remover first. After rinsing the oil off, I still feel a little residue on my face since it is an oil and follow up w/ face cleanser. This is egregiously bad.

I rarely write reviews on skincare, because we all have such different skin types. What works for me may break you out, and I might be allergic to what you love. But this? This was so bad, I had to alert the masses. I would tell anyone, regardless of skin type, to avoid this. Why? - It has an extremely strong artificial scent, which is not something you want near your eyes. - Speaking of eyes, it burns. A lot. Which is ridiculous because it should be an oil… it shouldn’t burn. No other oil cleanser I’ve tried does this. Why would a product meant to remove eye makeup burn eyes? - Speaking of mascara… guess what this doesn’t get off? I only had mascara on, no other eye makeup, and it wasn’t waterproof. To summarize, even if you don’t mind that it smells strongly and burns your eyes, it doesn’t even get light makeup off. I can’t imagine how hard it would be to get a full face of makeup off. I double cleanse with oil every day and I have tried almost every brand, so please believe me when I say this is awful. I’m not sure how this even got out of the testing phase. I hope they reformulate.
