Must Get If Missed on Wii UIncredibly enjoyable game. The last Mario I played was probably either Sunshine or Galaxy, so a new gen, old school side scrolling Mario is refreshing. The game comes with all of the DLC released for the Wii U version. Now this being Nintendo, there is no chance this game will ever go on sale(possible exaggeration, but you know what I'm talking about), so if you've already bought and played this on the Wii U then steer clear. The DLCs aren't really worth paying full price again.20 people found this helpful

Not great for casual gamersGame came in perfect condition, but the game is just harder than I thought it would be. It has different characters to choose from to make it easier, but it isn’t enough to make it easily playable for young kids. My son rocks as Mario odyssey (great game btw), but this one is too hard and not as fun. It’s like the old school mario games that get super difficult really fast and only really good players can beat it with Mario. But even with nabbit you still have to be able to make a lot of precision jumps and dodge things that can smash you.17 people found this helpful

The new version of my childhood game. The graphics are excellent, and the gameplay is very smooth. When you start playing, you won’t notice how time flies. You can play it together with your spouse or child at the same time. I downloaded the game from the Nintendo store, and it downloaded quite quickly, depending on the internet speed at home.

A classic that was rescued from the WiiU

This is a fun, although challenging in the later levels, typical 2D Mario game. The graphics are beautiful, the 2 local and 4 player online multiplayer is great. Toadette was added to make an easy difficulty mode. And yes, blue Toad is still in the game. Best game for those who want to try an original style Mario game before the new Wonder era

Challenging but fun!

Grew up playing super mario bros on DS. Enjoy all the new twists and some extra challenges compared to the older games. Multiplayer is definitely more challening especially with more than two people - the fact that everything pauses when someone gets hurt or dies really throws off timing and can be frustrating. but overall very fun!

LOVE IT!!!!

It's a game that's challenging yet good for those new to Switch! Teaches you some of the controls! (I'm a newbie switch user).Nice variety of game levels. Even things to do while not actually in the main game. Unlike original Super Mario, you can have access to more than one world, do a different sub world in different orders. Plus, if you lose all your lives, you dont hane to start all over again, even if you don't save progress! You can restart will all lives, at the beginning of each sub world. (to those who never played think of a world as a main level, sub world as another level on one)Plenty of online help at Nintendo, YouTube and Redit too! just dont watch or read too much ahead of what your doing or some videos can be spoilers!!

Really fun game for my 6 year old
1 February 2024

My son has most of the Mario switch games and we decided to add this one to his collection. What we liked about the game was the accessibility for the whole family, with options for a 'very easy' and 'easy' player whilst the adults or older children can play with normal difficulty players at the same time.We love that this game can have 4 players at the same time. A fun game for the whole family.

I got my nintendo switch during black friday and I picked up this game on sale. It is very fun to play and the gameplay is flawless. The visuals and audio are on point. If you've played super mario games back in the day, this will feel right at home. You will also have a blast if this is your first time playing a super mario bros game. The animation is amazing, the background scenery is stunning and I really like how the characters will stop and dance along with the music. The replay value is excellent, like being able to return to levels that you've played before. You can change up your gameplay style, choose a different path and/or find new hidden areas. These features truly increase the value of this game. I started playing recently and I have no regrets at all. ... MoreI got my nintendo switch during black friday and I picked up this game on sale. [Rewarded Review] Great Mario Game Updated for the Switch
8 April 2019

Following in the recent trend of porting excellent Wii U games to the Switch comes New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe. Considering most people never played this version, skipping the Wii U altogether, this is a fresh game to them. If, however, you were one of the few who owned a Wii U, you've probably already played this game. The original "New" Super Mario Bros. was released on the portable Nintendo 3DS in 2006. It was then updated for the Wii in 2009, and updated gain for the Wii U in 2012. This is an update of the 2012 release with a few twists. While this is essentially the same game as the Wii U version, there are a few new features to make it feel fresh-even. This is an update of the 2012 release with a few twists. While this is essentially the same game as the Wii U version, there are a few new features to make it feel fresh-even. It's worth playing even if you've played the Wii U version. The "story" is per usual--Bowser kidnaps Princess Peach and Mario and company set off to rescue her. It also includes the New Super Luigi U expansion. In this mode, you have 100 seconds to finish every level as Luigi. He jumps higher, but is a bit more floaty. It's just enough of a change to make the levels more difficult. So whats new in the New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe? Two new characters are playable: Toadette and Nabbit. Toadette is like an easy mode to the game, while Nabbit is a super-easy mode.Unique to Toadette is the Super Crown power-up that turns her into Peachette, giving her a double jump and Peach's floating abilities. Additionally, all 1-Up Mushroom blocks she hits now give 3-Up Moons. She is easier to control. She stops sooner than Mario and Luigi, making her less likely to fall into pits. She doesn't slip on ice. Swimming is also much easier. She gets an additional 100 seconds on Luigi U levels.Nabbit, historically a minor villain in the series, is now a playable character. He does not pick up any power-ups, but can still open the containers. He is not damaged by any enemies on-screen. However, he cannot ride Yoshi but instead bounces off of him. Like Toadette, he is less slippery and moves like she does on land, ice, and in water.Other updates: Additionally, the game now runs at 1080p, (up from 720p in the prior game) Nintendo has added some secret levels that were not available in the original game. While all of these things are good, we've been through this story, and the same power-ups, for a very long time. (2006!!) If you've played the prior games, you will notice the few changes and updates. But it's time for something more fresh from the New Super Mario Bros. I would have preferred an entirely new game instead of an update to the Wii U version.

Mario, Luigi and Toad are in. And as if that weren't enough, Mopsie and Toadette are also mixing in. Mopsie doesn't take damage from enemies, which is really handy. And when Toadette gets a super crown, she turns into Peachette. Peachette can perform double jumps, float in free fall and quickly escape from the abyss with a boost. Luigi's first leading role in the Jump'n'Run adventure New Super Luigi U also receives deluxe treatment and is included at no extra charge. Only one Joy-Con per player is needed and up to four players can be in the game in 164 levels anytime and anywhere.
