I volunteer to receive free 3M products in order to review them. I am reviewing Nexcare Clear/Waterproof Bandages. The package includes 3 sizes of bandages. The bandages are sized to be used to cover a variety of minor cuts. The bandages include a small thin cushioned patch makes up the part of the bandage that should cover the wound. The bandages are invisible to a point, depending on how they are placed. The bandages do stick well, however I found that they last longer when placed on flat surfaces. At least in my case, the bandage didn't remain in place on my finger for as long a time. I am a frequent hand washer. I would have rated these higher but the invisible part of the bandage, in my opinion, is much too thin. I found it very hard to separate the sticky portion of the bandage from the white glossy paper backing the bandage. This resulted in me having to go through several bandages before I could get one to properly stick to my test wound. The bandage has to be slowly and gingerly removed from the backing. With some improvements these bandages could be top notch performers.

Might be this style but I initially had trouble getting the bandage out. Seems this style sticks to one side and it's important to use the peel back part. These mimic the sturdy surgical style bandages hospitals/clinics provide but the borders can much more easily tear. This is a good assortment to have on hand and stick well once you figure out how to use them right. I have used this company before and liked their bandages. I might be a more regular style if I buy again IF the waterproof aspect is featured. That's a main selling point with these.

I purchased these bandages to cover a wart that I am treating on my pointer finger. I have been using them for a least a week now and they really stay on and are water proof! After a long day of teaching with multiple times of handwashing and applying hand sanitizer, the bandage stayed put. I even did some gardening that afetnoon; watering, planting and rinsing herbs; again the bandage held. It was only when I really scrubbed to get the garden dirt off my hands that the bandage started to peel off, but I already had it on for about 10 hours at that point.

I purchased this product about 3 days ago at walgreens because my daughter has a really bad cut on her leg. So I needed something that was big to cover the area and I decided to give these a try since they were waterproof. The adhesive on this bandage literally made bumps and blisters on my daughters leg. They skin that was covered by the adhesive was red. I would recommend trying this on a small area. My daughter had the bandage on for two days and I feel terrible about it. The only reason why I took the bandage off is because she started developing bumps around her mouth as well and thats when I knew it had to be the bandage because I haven’t introduced anything new in her routine.
I love these bandages and use them for pretty much all of my smaller skin-damage injuries (paper cuts, skinned joints, nicks from kitchen knives), and if I apply them correctly they can prevent damaged skin from getting wet in the shower, while doing dishes, washing hands, etc. They seem to adhere best if you clean the surrounding skin with alcohol first, and make sure it dries before you put the bandage on. I sometimes leave these bandages on for multiple days in a row without them ever coming loose; it depends where they are placed and whether there is a lot of friction at the bandage edge. They can absorb pigment from clothes, carrots, etc, but it doesn't affect their adherence. The plastic stretches out a little if it's on flexing skin so you don't even feel ... MoreI love these bandages and use them for pretty much all of my smaller skin-damage injuries (paper cuts, skinned joints, nicks from kitchen knives), and if I apply them correctly they can prevent damaged skin from getting wet in the shower, while doing dishes, washing hands, etc. They seem to adhere best if you clean the surrounding skin with alcohol first, and make sure it dries before you put the bandage on. The plastic stretches out a little if it's on flexing skin so you don't even feel them after a bit. They work best on flat skin, and are less waterproof when applied on wrinkly/frequently folded skin or near fingernails because any tiny wrinkles in your skin or the bandage can lead to channels where water can get in. But unlike big hydrocolloid bandages, the edges of these bandages do not absorb water, so if they are sealed on, you are good to go.Nexcare/3M: Please sell packs of the small size bandages only! I never use up the large or medium ones in the multipack.
These are the best bandages for adherence all over the body, even on non-flat surfaces like fingers and chins, especially when exposed to water. The full-circumference adhesive area on every size provides complete protective coverage without gaps. I was never a fan of multi size packs until I bought NexCare and tried the tiny ones on some little finger nicks - the little strips in other brands don’t stay on for long and don’t fully seal around a wound, so they are often a wasted item. With NexCare, even the tiny ones have such good adhesive that they are perfect for small area coverage because they actually stay on even when repeatedly wetted. These save money because you’re not constantly replacing them for healing over a few days. However, they take a little getting used to when sticking them on - you peel them out of the paper wrapper, press on the wound fully, and then carefully peel off the little white edging or they will fold back on themselves and you have to start over. Worth the effort, though!
My toddler has been picking the same scab daily on his face for over a week, and it’s been driving me crazy! I really don’t want it to take months to heal. So I scoured the internet in hopes to find some guidance. I found an online forum where another mom swore by this product. I ordered it that very day; that’s how desperate I was. It’s now been 48 hours since I first applied the bandaid, and my toddler STILL has it in the exact spot right above his eyebrow (even partially on it). I even gave him a bath, and it didn’t budge. This is the toddler who has gotten through most things I’ve ever baby-proofed, including removing plug covers from outlets! Yet somehow, this bandaid stays in place! I am truly amazed and will be recommending this product to everyone!
I received this product free in exchange for my honest opinion.I very much like the Nexcare™ Waterproof Bandages. They do indeed keep the area of the wound dry when applied properly. They are also very easy to remove to clean the wound area, not sticking to any part of the wound itself. If the Nexcare™ Waterproof Bandages have one downfall it's taking off the white tape around the bandage once it is applied to the skin. I found that it would pull off the bandage from the skin if the white tape is removed too quickly. It was easy enough to press down on the bandage to create a good seal but still a bit of a pain to do.Since I do swim a lot, the Nexcare™ Waterproof Bandages are great for my uses. These are wonderful bandages. To be honest, I failed happily and miserably at applying them, but I am sure I placed them where they were not designed to optimally be. I have pustular eczema seeming issues on my hands, and it gets pretty bad when I am stressed, which is often. It's itchy and well.. ends up needing bandages sometimes. When these bandages are applied CORRECTLY and sealed properly.. wow they're really cool and pretty dang impressive. Ain't no water getting in there, it seems. It's pretty simple to figure out how to place the bandages while maneuvering the protective tabs off so they stick. But it can be troublesome and annoying as well. I've lost quite a few of these, using them on my fingers especially. These feel so smooth and pleasant to the touch ... MoreThese are wonderful bandages. I feel futuristic as heck using 'em. Sci fi stickies. Packaging is as expected as far as the box. Love the assorted sizes, maybe I'll have to try the bigger forms! Great quality, I say.
