You can tell from the moment you open the box that you are dealing with a company, Next Level Racing, that is serious about the racing cockpits they manufacture and sell. The box is heavy, so I opened the box on the first floor of my home and carried the various pieces upstairs and laid them out on the floor of the room. This is a full size cockpit, with the frame being 65 inches long once assembled. I also purchased the F-GT 3 Monitor Stand, and after placing 27" monitors on the stand it measured about 64" across, so overall it will take up a good bit of room.I thought the instructions were well written and if you are mechanically inclined at all, you shouldn't have any problem putting this together. I was very impressed with Next Level Racing because they have updated the wheel area by adding braces you can use if you feel you need to. Also, with the 3 monitor stand I purchased, they had listened to customers and they had put an update kit in that item as well, which was support arms on each side which initially were not provided. The reason I gave this item 5 stars was because of this company's very close attention to detail in everything they make, at least everything I have seen.I would definitely purchase this again. It is a great Sim Unit.

The latest model I received had a new bracing package that makes the pedal tray rigid. You can stand on it and it doesn't budge. I can't stress this enough, the extra bracing on the pedal tray extends to the top so the pedal tray is bolted down at both ends now, not just at the base. There's not a load cell or a hydraulic pedal set-up that could budge it. As far as the steering upright moving, you simply have to install the supplied felt gap fillers. They make it really difficult to get the bolts back in, so don't install them until you have it set up just how you like it. That said, the new brace kit comes with upright braces that would makes it super rigid, but I never get any flex, so I didn't bother with it. Couldn't be happier with my purchase, although I was ... Couldn't be happier with my purchase, although I was about a dozen washers short. I had plenty of spare washers in supply so it didn't slow me down. I also added double bolts to the pedal tray brace by cutting down a couple of the extra bolts it came with. Comes with plenty of spare bolts and nut, but about 12-14 washers too short for my liking, but you could skimp with washers and it would be fine, I like them on both sides of the bolt, not just the nut side. Looks super cool once it's all set up. I spend way too much time just sticking my head in the room to look at it.That's how cool it looks. Took me ages to assemble, but I'm hyper OCD and used 7mm cable conduit, pull ties and adhesive pull tie anchors to direct and protect all the wiring. You HAVE to buy the carpet or mat that comes with it. The feet need it to grip on or it will move around when you get in and out... plus it looks waaay better. It's top quality car mat style material with Next Level Racing embroidery on it.The seat has embroidery on it to and it's amazingly good quality. Makes it look better than some 'real' seats IMO.

The F-GT Sim Cockpit is a nice unit. It is very complete and the quality is much better than most Chinese built products. It is well engineered and if very stable when all put together with everything tight. I saw a YouTube video where this guy clamed he put it together in an hour. Well maybe if you have done 20 or so and you know where all the adjustable parts should wind up. That being said, the assembly isn’t bad. All the parts fit well and you don’t need any other tools besides what is provided. I also saw on line where some people said the instructions were good. I have seen far worse. They are ok and if you follow them it goes together quite nicely. Love it for the money.

50/50 on it. Assembling took far longer than it should have as the package arrived incredibly damaged with the screws all over the place and not in the blister pack - but thats on BESTBUY not NEXT LEVEL RACING. Relatively solid however using a high torque Fanatec Wheel it creeks alot. Anything greater than a 5NM DD Wheel will probably the same results. It's more a set it and forget than enjoy that position even though it does have adjustability. That being said even spending hours in the set up it's not uncomfortable considering the overall thinness. Absolutely a must on the coasters to help it move around. For the price? Another win for a sim chair under $500.
If you're looking at this cockpit, chances are you want the F1 style racing position. It's just ok. Not a true F1 seating position. But that's what you get for a hybrid between two different seating styles. Obviously more so than your usual GT style seating. But just something to consider. It's definitely not for short people. I am 5'7 and I have everything pretty much as close as possible. I even have the steering wheel mounted where the shifter mount is supposed to go. I could've solved these issues by just sliding the seat forward, but then you lose that F1 style position that was the sole purpose of this cockpit in the first place. I then had to modify the shifter mount so it'll mount next to the seat rather than by your shins. And also had to put weights on ... I then had to modify the shifter mount so it'll mount next to the seat rather than by your shins. And also had to put weights on the opposite side because with everything basically on one half of the entire assembly, it would start to tip when you were getting in and out of the seat.Lastly, I've probably changed the seating, pedal positions, and monitors over 10 times. I do full length F1 2020 races. So about 90 minutes to 2 hours of straight sitting. Not including practice and qualifying sessions. I had to find a seating position that would not give me major lower back pain half way through the race. I think I have it set up the way I like it now but even still, it's not very comfortable for much more than an hour.Given it is about half the price of the cheapest Playseat F1 cockpit, it is still pretty decent value if you also end up getting the monitor stand for the F-GT. Which I do not recommend if you are using multiple monitors but I've written a separate review for that already. But overall, once you have it all adjusted and ready to go, it's a pretty decent set up. Kind of hard to get in and out of if you have everything super close like I have to. But it does the job. Even still, having had this cockpit for about 2 months and about 60 hours on it, I find myself wondering if I should've really considered saving up a bit longer and spending the extra on the Playseat.
I bought this because it was (relatively) affordable and I was tired of attaching and detaching my wheel from my desk every time I wanted to race or do work. Plus trying to comfortably race in a desk chair with wheels is a nightmare. That said, this thing is absolutely infuriating to assemble. It might as well not come with instructions at all. All they really amount to is drawings of the rig and vague mentions of which screws to use. It never mentions washers at all so don't forget to use those. Once it is assembled it's a huge pain to readjust. I've had it over a month and still haven't found a comfortable seating position. In the end, however, I don't regret the purchase. I would have been interested in trying the Lite version, but it didn't look very sturdy. ... I would have been interested in trying the Lite version, but it didn't look very sturdy. This thing is a beast. My other options were to keep doing what I was doing (and hating) or spend hundreds if not thousands of dollars more for something better. It does exactly what I wanted, and paired with an ultrawide monitor it's actually pretty sweet. Do yourself a favor and watch an unboxing and assembly video on YouTube before you start in on it yourself.
If I was to need a stronger rig it would have to be a custom 8020 aluminum rig. As of now this is an awesome comfortable sim rig. Putting it together took about 2 hours. Don’t tighten all bolts up at first leave them loose so you can go back and make sure it’s all straight and tighten them down. The rig did come with the bolts to mount my CSL DD, V3 pedal and a shifter mount. I also enjoy flight sims, fabricating something to hold the hotas and throttle doesn’t seem like too much of a hassle. Racing for 4-5 hours doesn’t leave me sore as the play seat challenge did. This rig is solid and comfortable and it just works. Cable management is pretty easy. Solid enough for a direct drive wheel. Buttkicker gamer 2 is a nice add on
Pros: The overall frame is pretty solid and holds my wheel and pedals well but that's pretty much where the praise ends for the practicality of the product. It is a good width, being just 60cm wide, so doesn't take up too much room and does look better than a lot of other frames. I have only used in GT position so far as it is a bit of a process to change to Formula setup.Cons: The seat itself is very poor quality sadly. It also moves around under breaking with a load cell. Has some play in the mounting which causes it to clunk when getting on and off, this can also happen in game when braking or adjusting seating position. The stitching on the seat had a loose thread, the mounting frame was crooked and required a lot of adjusting before it would mount and sit ... Has some play in the mounting which causes it to clunk when getting on and off, this can also happen in game when braking or adjusting seating position. The stitching on the seat had a loose thread, the mounting frame was crooked and required a lot of adjusting before it would mount and sit correctly and finally the handle to adjust the seat back and forth sticks out too far and presses into my leg when racing. The build instructions also left a lot to be desired. Now I have spent some time with the product, overall I was pretty disappointed but having spent hours building it, I didn't have the motivation to deconstruct and return. I am also pretty handy so can make adjustments myself to improve, I just don't feel I should have to even for a relatively fair price. I wanted to love it but couldn't honestly reccomend it, even for a casual sim racer unfortunately.
It's a nice sturdy build. Took some effort to assemble. Not to much flex with my fanatec gt dd pro with load cell brake pedal. Seat is surprisingly comfortable. My issue is my size. I have quite long arms and the steering wheel is to close to me. I'm pretty comfortable with pedal orientation though. I'm almost 5'11'' 280 lbs and it holds my weight fine. Wish adjustability had a little more in it. I just need a few inches distance for my arms. A further tilt up in the steering wheel or 5 inches more in seat moving back would have been fantastic. More for average build person.
It is indeed a chair and the seat isn't very bad at all comfort wise. What was absolutely terrible was the instructions (or lack thereof). For example, there are washers that are never referenced for use. I used them because I've built stuff before but there was no guidance on what to do. I'm 80% sure the pedal base is a defective part with the lip for the base bent in the wrong direction. It will still be a base. But the lip being reversed means the pedals can slide upward during use if not otherwise secured. As for delivery, it came and all the screws were scattered within the box. I'm not sure if that is Best Buy not telling me it was a resale or Next level quality control.BUT it is exactly what I bought and it is nice to sit in with a lot of potential ...
