A Fantastic Shoe for Day to Day Training Runs

I like this generation, but I’m a bigger fan of the Infinity 2 for reasons that may or may not be important to you. Regardless it’s a very worthy shoe.I’m generally not a fan of
flyknit for any athletic shoe due to the lack of support. While very comfortable, you can really only run in a straight line. Tight turns are totally out of the question and even
moderate curves I can still feel my foot sliding in the shoe and edging toward a rolled ankle. The 2 also had a supple upper, but there was definitely more support, so turns
were much more manageable. I absolutely would not ever recommend taking these on trail runs. I think you’re asking for trouble if you do.I like the soles on the... Show more

The 2 has a cool design on the sole, but I knew I was going to wear through, which I eventually did. I think these will last quite a bit longer.Lastly, the Infinity 2 had a rounder shape to the foam in the sole that lent itself to rolling weight transfer if you ever find yourself heel striking. The 4 also has a round shape, but the center has a longer flat patch which feels more stable. Not sure I’d call it better or worse, just different.Either way, these are still great running shoes and looking forward to logging a few hundred miles on ‘em... Show more

It seriously feels like wearing a sock. These shoes replaced my Pegasus 38s (I was convinced I could not find a better running shoe then my pegs) and so far they have held up very well. The biggest difference between the two pairs is that the Pegs felt like a lot faster tempo trainer than these Infinity Runs.I am a 400/800 runner in high school and our workouts normally consist of 150-300m fast pace repeats and possibly a mile or two easy run every once in a while. Comparing the two shoes, the Pegs would definitely be better for my faster workouts and the IRNs would be better for slower, longer runs (the Pegs were still great for the mile jogs).... Show more

I started wearing NIKE last year after developing Achilles tendinosis and all the other shoes just didn't work without adding a heel lift or insole. Started with ZoomX Invincible just a hail mary. Ohmygosh! Made running more enjoyable again. Found about this InfinityRN on IG. Ordered a pair on sale just to try in normal running size W 9.5. Did well on short runs up to 6 miles. Started getting numbness and tingling. Came and tried a W 10 and M 8.5. Ordered both to give a try. I mean they are nice colorways for walking around and recovery 😉 . Training for a Full marathon and think I am sticking with the M 8.5!! I like way the hug my feet without added pressure from swelling. I think the upper could be a bit more breathable. The midfoot and heel are supportive. ... MoreI started wearing NIKE last year after developing Achilles tendinosis and all the other shoes just didn't work without adding a heel lift or insole. I am heavier about 200lbs and don't feel like the cushion wears away fast. I do rotate ny women's for shorter runs and men's for longer. Oh bought the Gortex model too!... Show more

OK, but disappointing
18 May 2024
The previous Infinity Run models were fantastic long run shoes with a slightly firm, but very shock absorbent foam, a lot of cushioning, and a nice smooth rocker. I've run multiple 16 mile runs and one 20 mile run in them and they don't lose comfort during the run and leave my legs and feet feeling great. They were also very durable. The Infinity RN 4 has a softer foam that has a little bit of bounce, so the rocker isn't as smooth (though it's still effective). There's still a lot of cushioning and shock absorption, but my feet don't feel nearly as good in it (especially in the forefoot) and it feels incredibly heavy, which my legs really notice past 8 miles (but notice at least somewhat the whole way). I don't dislike it enough to return it, but I think that I will ... MoreThe previous Infinity Run models were fantastic long run shoes with a slightly firm, but very shock absorbent foam, a lot of cushioning, and a nice smooth rocker. I don't dislike it enough to return it, but I think that I will struggle to get miles on it, as I probably won't have it in my regular rotation, and will probably save it for mid-length long runs (8-12) miles and use something else for longer long runs (like perhaps my Infinity Run 3's which even with over 500 miles on them still feel better than the brand new 4's).... Snug Fit!
24 June 2024
So, I have a pair, size 10.5, of the InfinityRN4 GORE-TEX and absolutely love them. I ordered this, Flyknit upper running shoe, a half size up as recommended, and am happy I did. The ultra-comfortable collar and tongue enables a snug fit with flexibility. The ReactX in the midsole makes it feel as though you’re walking on air. I think the Waffle outsole will make this InfinityRN4 way go to for my Tempo Runs; Especially during transitioning from paved to gravel paths and vice versa. It’s likely they will conform to my feet better after a few runs.Tip: Your first thought after putting them on may be ‘they are tight across the top.’ Though the fit will be a lot more comfortable if you adjust the laces correctly.I recommend you order a full size up If you prefer a ... MoreSo, I have a pair, size 10.5, of the InfinityRN4 GORE-TEX and absolutely love them. Though keep in mind they will stretch a bit after you run in them, and may become too loose.I think Nike’s design intent for these is to make a running show that is comfortable and conforming. Thus, making them feel almost non-existent.... Show more

snug fit, but very comfortable
21 August 2024
These are really cool shoes! The tongue design really lends the shoe to a nice, secure, and flexible fit. My initial reaction when putting these shoes on right out of the box was that they were really flexible and responsive shoes. So, from there, I laced these bad boys up and took them straight outside for an easy 2mile run. When I started running, I was a bit fearful of the snug fit. Yes, the notes/additional information about the shoe says they're a sung fit and nike recommends ordering a size up... but I didn't see that. You can't expect me to read that closely while buying shoes! However, I think nike is right about this, if you don't like a really close second skin/sock type fit, you should certainly go up a half a size. However, I think nike is right about this, if you don't like a really close second skin/sock type fit, you should certainly go up a half a size. But as I continued running, the feel really grew on me. They feel snug without being suffocating or binding if that makes sense. The ReactX foam underfoot was very springy and responsive. because they were so soft and spongy, I don't think I would wear these for long grueling runs or runs where your pace is steady, upright, and comfortable (like a noncompetitive 10k run). With such a soft springy underfoot, they seem a bit unstable for a full foot cycle through type run, but I feel like these would be perfect for a quick 5k or a 1600m race pace street run. I ran my 2mile run at a VERY comfortable 12:30 min mile pace. I ran too slow and upright to let these shoes really shine. I will definitely be taking these back out and paying them the respect they deserve. All in all, these are great shoes for the price. I would certainly recommend them.... Show more

Super comfortable; interesting fit
18 April 2024
The shoe fits almost like a sock and stretches with your foot’s movement which gives it a nice snug fit. The midsole cushion is amazing. However would like to see more arch support and more cushion in the toe box area. Definitely take the advice and order a half size up per the online recommendation. These definitely run smaller than most shoes due to the stretch fabric design. They are water resistant to a certain extent but not “waterproof” like the Goretex version which would make this the ultimate running shoe. However the Goretex model is limited to only a few color options so that’s why I stuck with these. Overall a really comfortable and lightweight shoe with good color options to choose from. Very happy with my choice.... Show more
