Nikon make three excellent standard zooms (plus the re-badged Tamron) so there is plenty of choice and they are all great options. For me the 24-120 f4 is a perfect choice as it covers a very useful range and is a constant f4.Optically this lens does not dissappoint, it is very sharp and so far I have not found anything to complain about. The size and bulk, whilst more than the 24-70 f4, is perfectly acceptable. It is a comfortable lens to use and is light enough to be able to hand hold for prolonged periods without tiring. It fits comfortably in my Billingham Hadley bag with other equipment so it all works very well for me when I'm on location.I've used it for some event photography as well as for a large portrait session so far and have been very pleased with it.

Pros: Excellent all-rounder with long Zoom range and relatively light.Cons: Long extension on full zoom. Poor quality protection case, but then that’s not used much.
Pros: That extra reach is just perfect for a walkabout Len’s.Cons: Not as compact as the 24-70 f/4
I have been waiting for this lens since it first came on Nikon's roadmap and it doesn't disappoint. Lovely and sharp with excellent contrast and colour, way ahead of the F mount equivalent. I think Nikon has a winner here.
This lens is great. It is fitted to my Z611 90% of the time and the images are sharp throughout the zoom range. So glad I waited for the lens release and did not get the 24-70 f4 as the extra reach is so useful.
Pros: Great zoom range. Sharp as a tack throughout the zoom range. Love the function button and the function ring as I can set it for changing my iso quickly betterCons: Better lens hood would be great

It is a general Purpose lens which covers my most used focal lengths. Very happy with the lens.
