Our 3 year old fell in love with Mario 3D world on the Wii U a couple of months ago and its been Mario everything in our house. We didnt even realize this came out before that for the Wii U. Its a little more difficult for him because 2D forces you to go to battle with the enemy vs exploring in a 3D level but hes catching on quickly. He loves the ice fire balls, squirrel Mario, purple yoshi, etc.

I have a bias because I have always loved the Mario Bros. games from Nintendo. This one is no exception, and the graphics are incredible! If you really enjoy the left to right screen play, this game will not disappoint. What I love about this Nintendo game is the simplicity of controls. The game gets more challenging without my needing to learn how to use 6 or so buttons on the controller. The world view is far better than previous iterations.

Don't buy games from Marie's Market its a scam. I bought this game brand new and it didnt contain the game manual or work at all. Disappointed and ruined my little nephews Christmas.

This is a great game but if you aren't an expert at playing Mario Brothers you will get frustrated real quick. We are retired and enjoy playing Mario Brothers game but we cannot get this game at all. Luckily we found a way to get the maximum lives thanks to the internet but it's still a challenge. So I would not recommend this game for amateurs but only seasoned young folks with quick fingers and lighting reflexes.
This game is great! It puts me in mind of Super Mario Bros for super Nintendo. The only reason I docked a star is because it is not exactly a 2 player but it is. You have to have a wii u controller and game pad. The controller has to be player 1 which is Mario and the game pad is player 2... player 2 is blocks. Not a character. It's a cool idea for an adult game but younger kids can't really understand how to play. So I recommend having kids take turns or else the parents will have to play every time. I love it though. Just a little advanced for younger ages.
I grew up with the original NES and this game is all I expected it to be. Feels like a perfect combo of SMB3 and Super Mario World style with 2016 graphics. Game starts very easy then gets harder but never too had. DLC and multiplayer add huge relay value if your into that.
Really fun game. Probably the best "New super Mario Bros" game so far. Only downside for me is they replaced the raccoon tail with a flying squirrel suit. I prefer the raccoon tail. The level design is amazing and the graphics are really great to look at. This game is a lot of fun. I've only played thru world 1 so far and I'm looking forward to the rest.
Both these games are excellent! It's a whole new Mario game with a lot of elements of both old and newer Mario games. There's at least one secret exit in every world, which opens up a hidden level. Once you've beat the game another world opens that has a level for each world in the game. If you've gotten all the star coins in a world, there's a correlating level in the new world that opens up for play.Super Luigi is great, too. Each level only has 100 seconds, so you have to finish each one as fast as you can.
I purchased this game when I got my Wii U a few months ago as I didn't want to spend $60 on New Super Mario Bros U for what I thought was essentially the same game. I couldn't make it past the second world because it was way too hard. So I ended up purchasing Mario, finishing it (and getting better in the process) at which point I could attack this game.It was a challenge, but once you've finished the Mario game you should have no difficulty completing this one too. It's additional content for the original game, even if they sell it as a separate game (hence the cheaper price tag) so don't expect anything incredible here.
