Video Game for Switch Nintendo New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe

Game is great! 4 player action. You would think that more players would make this game easier, but in actuality it becomes more difficult, fun, and frustrating. As a parent, I think this game is definitely a good game to play with your children. They have enjoyed beating and rebeating the levels with me as I push them to collect all the big coins! The Music is fantastic. The levels and hidden items, paths, are superbly made. Mario and Luigi and Toad and Toadette (who can transform to Princes Peach) take on this epic adventure. Also there is an easy mode with a rabbit. If you want to use less skill on a certain level, then go with the purple rabbit. 2 thumbs up here, though.

A Modern Take on a Classic Platformer

The Super Mario Bros have been at the pinnacle of platform games for decades and this game follows their established model very well. The animations, power suits, and level design all work together to produce an enjoyable experience for Mario fans. While it doesn’t necessarily break any new ground, it is a solid offering from a company that knows fun. Definitely play as a single player, but only do multiplayer if you’re not easily angered by your gaming buddies.

As fun as it ever was!

This was the Wii U's big launch game in 2012. I played through it then, along with New Super Luigi U expansion that followed later, and 100-percented both of them. They were equal parts fun and frustrating, due to Nintendo's pixel-perfect stage design and propensity for devious challenge. U Deluxe may not be a necessary purchase for those who owned and played it for the Wii U, but it's still a solid game that has been given a second chance at life on the much more successful Switch, and that's a win for everybody. Having a version that you can take with you on the go is a definite added bonus, since it's a game that can easily be played in short bursts and lends itself well to the portable format.

Classic, 2D Mario!

My family and I love just about every Mario game. I originally played this on the Wii U, but bought this Switch upgraded version after seeing the Mario Brothers movie that got us hyped to play the games again. This version is a graphical upgrade from the original NES games. My children have a lot to learn about 2D side-scrolling platforming. Aside from the occasional indie game, kids don't get accustomed to platforming games anymore. If you grew up on the original Mario games, you'll enjoy this one quite a bit.

Good Game, Wait for sale

it's a good game, but this is definitely not the best Mario game you could get for the switch. When compared to the original release, it is nothing special. The new additions are not too fantastic, just 2 characters that serve as essentially super easy modes. However, if you have never played this on the original release, it could be worth picking up. Better to wait for a sale, since it is one of the few Mario games that drops under 40

Great game for fans, or anyone for that matter

A pretty fun game. If you grew up playing Mario 2d like myself on nes and snes (80s kid) then you should like this. It’s boat loads of fun, although I found it really frustrating to play with kids in multiplayer as it takes a lot of communication and working together. If someone decides to just run ahead it messes everyone up. So I definitely prefer single player. It’s a bit short, if you want Mario and 2d this is still fun but probably only worth it on a sale. I think I paid $39.99 for mine. If you want 2d Mario with tons of content then Mario maker 2 is awesome with never ending content as it’s community driven. Mario maker 2 just has a weak story but that’s not the point of it. This would be a 5 star from me if there was just a bit more content. I could probably ... MoreA pretty fun game. I’ve never played the wii version but I heard it’s essentially a 1:1 port. If you’re a Mario fan this game is worth it. I also feel the replay ability is high with Mario games.

It's great for families who've never played.

This game is pretty good, if you are a family or someone who has never played a game in the new super mario bros series it'sgreat for you or family! My only problem with it is thatIf you HAVE played the games before it, it kinda follows the same pretty boring formula and for a full $50-$60. Overall, it was pretty fun, if you or your family members have never played, Totally buy! But if you have played the games, it's not too different from NSMB U on the Wii U, You could still enjoy it, though.

Both Mario U and Luigi U (the 2 campaigns) are good, but unoriginal (Mario U more so than Luigi U). But this changes with ‘challenge mode.’ If you thought the main campaigns were hard, this will be much harder. It is tons of fun trying to get gold medals on all of the challenges. And the game even offers two multiplayer modes to play against friends in, Coin Battle and Boost Rush, which are both fun. Overall, the game is very good, but it is similar to previous Mario games so only 4 stars. Music, graphics, and gameplay are standard, but the game itself is great!

Super Mario World Nostalgia

As a 90s kid, brought back many great memories of Super Mario World and Super Mario Bros3. Many elements of each combined together to make a modern version, just as challenging and equaling exciting. Hard to put down the game once one starts playing. Highly recommend for those who loved Super Mario World. Nostalgia galore.

I picked it up on sale, and I can safely say this fixed most of my problems with the original game.NSMBUD (what an absolutely terrible name) plays like a sequel to Mario Bros. 3. It's the 2D Mario game I never knew I wanted.A few negative points worth mentioning: As with basically all modern nintendo games, there are completely pointless motion controls that should have been mapped to a controller. But it's Nintendo, so they aren't.
