Unfortunately, I'm marking the product down for the shortness of the USB - C cable that it comes with. It's too short to charge the Joy-cons and play effectively. Additionally, the Joy-cons have such a good battery life that charging and play hasn't really been necessary. It hasn't been a worthwhile purchase. The grip is alike to the one that comes with the Switch in form and usability. I have few complaints with this. I wish it was a little bit wider. I would not recommend this product purely because of the cable and the good battery life of the Joy-cons.

I thought this controller had a built in battery so that the controller could charge the joycons and then the controller just needed to be charged using the USB-C cable.Unfortunately it is just a controller with a pass through charging system that charges the joycons when fitted in the controller. The cable that comes with it is way too short to be connected to the console and allow you to sit a reasonable distance from the TV and nobody wants to play with a controller that has to be cabled!Very disappointed and wish I could return it. I have since bought a Pro Controller and that is what I should have bought in the first place!

It’s a controller cradle, almost identical to the one that comes with the switch. Is a must though because nintendo don’t supply a controller that charges the joy cons, so if you buy a extra set of joy cons, you can slap them on this and charge all 4 joy-cons at the same time. It is a nice touch though its slightly transparent where the supplied one is solid. The switch should really come with this one instead of the plain one it is what it is.Also its nintendo, so obviously its well built and functions flawlessly.

Simple item but useful. My son has directional problems when holding the controllers when apart so the buttons don’t do what he wants them to do. The controller holder helps to position the controllers and therefore his hands correctly.
My friend and I both bought one at same time. My left rail is so lose the joy con falls out whereas right side has the snug regular before locking in rail feel you know what i mean. Out of warranty. Just saying quality control is not good at Nintendo anymore. This charging option is another rip off. How hard was it to add a charging dock with expensive console?? Then there’s micro cards we need, money!!!
Great product, good quality and fast delivery. Ordered to go with a second set of joycons as only one set is provided with the Switch. I had mistakenly thought this charging grip provided wireless charging - I’m new to this world and hadn’t understood the description! But after double checking the choices available, this does what I wanted - it provides a comfortable way to hold the joy cons and you can easily plug it in to the console using the USB cable provided to charge them overnight.
A good accessory to have for the Switch. However, the USB lead connecting the charging grip to the Switch could be made longer in order to facilitate longer screen distances.
For me this was my number two priority accessory purchase (after a screen protector), as I primarily use the Switch connected to a TV. This grip removes the pain of having to periodically attach the two controllers to a docked/powered Switch just to recharge their batteries. Charging is quite conventional and is performed via the grip's built-in USB-C port, using the USB cable provided connected between the grip and a USB port on the Switch Dock. Charging can be performed during play if necessary.
Bought as grip for second pair of Joycons. Works well to be able to charge first pair on the switch and second with the grip. Great, simple idea and good price.
Pros: Grip works fine and charges the joycon well.Cons: Product name is slightly misleading in being called a charging grip as the grip does not contain an internal battery which I had expected for the price. Have to have the grip plugged in via USB C at all times to charge the joycon so not so useful for travelling. Would recommend buying a separate charge stand for 4 joycon or 2 joycon and 1 pro controller instead as I feel these products are better value.
