The Pro Controller includes many of the great features found in the Joy-Con Controllers: motion controls, HD rumble, built-in amiibo functionality and more. The primary difference in the controls is that while the directional controls on the Joy-Con (L) are made up of different buttons, the Pro Controller has a single + Control Pad, similar to previous systems. The Nintendo Switch Pro Controller contains 2 linear resonant actuators, each with independent HD Rumble capabilities, creating a similar effect as with the Joy-Con Controllers. The HD rumble function included in the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller creates an immersive gameplay experience that isn’t possible with images and sounds alone. You can also use amiibo on your Nintendo Switch by tapping them to the NFC touchpoint on the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller! This accessory comes with a USB Type-C connector and a USB Type-C cable that allows you to charge it. The Nintendo Switch Pro Controller battery life is approximately 40 hours. Please note: this is the estimated battery life. This may vary depending on the usage conditions. The official Nintendo USB Power Adapter (sold separately) allows you to charge your Nintendo Switch Pro Controller with any three-pin socket (connecting to the USB cable included with the product).

I purchased from two retailers Cocatos and KosasK which were both shipped using Chinese shipping companies. I believe that the products shipped were fake. You can tell because the spacing on the words used on the box were spaced differently than authentic box. Also the image quality was a little blurred. The controller looks and acts identical to the actual controller. Even has the Nintendo labeling but I don’t trust that these are genuine Nintendo products from these marketplace sellers. Buyer Beware.

Excellent, colourful controller with some issues.
18 September 2022

Excellent controller for Nintendo Switch with the best colour scheme they offer, a unique texture and an additional plastic midframe compared to the standard Nintendo Switch Pro Controller, this is probably the best official Nintendo Switch controller made by Nintendo. Not without fault, the initial set-up isn't as easy as an Xbox Wireless Controller or a Nintendo Switch Joy-Con Pair, the fit and finish is below expectations for the price with seams visible and large, and the additional plastic midplate makes the face of the controller opaque, hiding the circuitry and text usually visible through it. The sticks exhibit snapback like all Nintendo Switch Pro Controllers, leading to some menu misinputs. The latency is excellent, comparable, and sometimes better, than a wired controller. Overall an excellent controller but not perfect.

Fake
6 March 2023

Seems some people who have more recently bought this item say it's real, but when I ordered this in March of 2022, I thought it was too good to be true. And I was right. When it came and I went to use it, I noticed it didn't quite feel right. Upon doing some research and opening it up, there were some clear signs it was fake. Like the battery contacts being completely different from an official one and there being no HD rumble, just on or off which was very off putting. While I was given a full refund and told I could keep the controller, I still feel the need to let others know. It worked fine as a controller for a while, but started drifting as all controllers nowadays seem to. Walmart allowing sellers to sell fake limited edition controllers should be investigated.

Good Hardware, Questionable Software
20 July 2021

Arguably, this is the definitive controller to use for switch games. It is durable and sturdy yet still lightweight, and is comfortable in the hands for many hours. The buttons and joysticks feel good and activate solidly. The problem with this controller lies in both the rumble feature, and the design of switch games. Too many games overuse the rumble feature, to the point that much of my time on the switch is spent using the default joy-cons. Games like mario maker and mario 3d all stars make the controller rumble every time you jump or collect coins. The problem with this is that you are constantly jumping and collecting coins. The rumble becomes straight up annoying very quickly, and you have no way of modifying or de-activating this feature. This is a great controller, but it is held back by the software that it was created for. Because of this, I can only recommend this controller based on the games you play the most, as well as how you feel about rumble. If you don't mind constant rumbling, then I encourage you to buy this controller. If constant rumbling bothers you, and you play lots of games that heavily utilize this feature, then I would recommend you purchase joy-cons instead.

Great!

I wasnt sure at first how worth it getting a pro controller would be, since I was perfectly content using joy cons for a long time. But eventually I just got tired of how often the joy cons would develop glitches and issues, and I wanted something new I knew would 100% work when Splatoon 3 released (something I was very much looking forward to), so I finally gave a pro controller a try. It took a little getting used to of course, but after a couple of days I now find it much more comfortable and satisfying to hold, and the lack of the joy cons reputation for developing drift etc. is reassuring. Simple but appealing design. Love the subtle translucency, letting you see some of the inner workings. Reminds me of an old GameBoy Advance I had, and is nostalgic and cool. ... MoreI wasnt sure at first how worth it getting a pro controller would be, since I was perfectly content using joy cons for a long time. The buttons and sticks all feel great to use; especially the triggers (ZL & ZR) which is nice for Splatoon as I will be using them a lot! Not to mention this listing was 20 cheaper than it wouldve been to buy a pro controller from the Nintendo store. All around a great experience.

If you can justify the price, this is the best controller you can get for switch!
30 December 2021

I never write reviews but I really want to because of all the mixed reviews to give some perspective. Before the getting this controller I tried using a PowerA brand wireless rechargeable controller because of the design and mappable buttons. The PowerA controller looked really nice but the quality of the controller was very poor. The controller kept de syncing, there was tons of input lag, and the build quality was very poor. The materials used in the controller felt cheap. The switch pro controller is the way to go in my opinion. Every issue I had with the third party controller is completely gone. Though I have seen some complaints about the D-Pad I actually like it. The controller was much quicker to sync up to the switch, I have had zero input lag at all and the quality is better where I don’t feel like the controller will break within a couple of gaming sessions like I did with the other controller. The only downside is the price and the fact that the Switch Pro controller doesn’t come with different designs. To sum up, if you can justify the price of the controller it is definitely worth picking up. The 3rd party wireless controllers go for around $50 so for the extra $20 I think it is worth it to pick up the Nintendo Brand Switch.

Official NINTENDO Pro Controller just not labelled
6 January 2023

First off, buyers should know, this controller is NOT labelled as a "NINTENDO" product. The images you see on this product page are not accurate. However, it absolutely IS the exact same controller as the official NINTENDO Pro-Controller.And I don't mean it is a "copy", I mean, this controller IS literally an official NINTENDO Pro-Controller, it's just not LABELLED as one. This controller is literally identical in every way to the official NINTENDO Pro-Controller.The plant that manufactures the official controller, also manufactures this controller, they just don't stamp the name "NINTENDO" on it so they can sell it for far less. However, because the images for this product listing are technically wrong, I feel people should be aware of that.
