Take advantage of increased airflow and reduced noise with the brown NF-F12 PWM 120mm Cooling Fan from Noctua. Using an SSO-bearing design, this 120mm cooling fan is designed for reliability. Thanks to a 4-pin PWM connection, fan speed can be controlled directly from your motherboard. Delivering 54.97 CFM of airflow at 300 to 1500 rpm and 22.4 dBA, this fan also comes with a low-noise adapter that can reduce fan speed to 1200 rpm while also reducing operational noise. Anti-vibration rubber pads are also included, as is a 4-pin Y cable, allowing users to control 2 fans from the same 4-pin motherboard connection. The Noctua NF-F12 PWM has a lifespan of more than 150,000 hours.

I have a R9 295x2 overclocked 9% memory 30%, and CPU overclocked over 5ghz in a single loop on a triple 120mm rad. Keeps my temps at 2 degrees over ambient running benchmarks. I'm only running three of these badies in a pull configuartion. Just impressive.

I'd consider the Corsair SP120's as a good alternative. Push almost the same amount of air and you can get a twin pack for $5 more than just one of these.

So like i said i bought this fan to replace a old broken 4 year old drobo fan. about 1 month ago the fan started to make some noise but the other day it went and died. So i needed a fan asap. Looking for other options I found this fan and I cut the wires out of the old fan and added them to this fan worked no problem. problem sloved drobo5n back working. Hope to get another 4 to 5 years out of this one. I'm thinking i might need to order another of these to just have for when it dies again.

more pleasant to look at than the classic noctua
Noctua for fans with any build
I've not sprayed water at it, as it says you can, because I'm not rich or stupid. It's the best fan. And, for that price, it had better be. I do indeed build computers for people, and myself, so I'll give my opinion on the matter, regarding builds: For a serious air-cooled system, I think this fan (the PWM version) is a wise investment, for strapping onto a CPU cooler. Strongest fan around that you'd actually wanna be in the same room with. As far as filling a mid-size, or greater, case with these, I wouldn't suggest it, or do it. The additional airflow does merit the high cost. CPU cooler fan: The best. If you want the best, then stop clicking around and buy the PWM version for this fan (or the 3000RPM version, if you wear headphones and hate your wife and family). ... MoreI've not sprayed water at it, as it says you can, because I'm not rich or stupid. Stop being argumentative and go play games or something. Case fans: Not *this* fan. I wouldn't recommend the iPPC F-12 for anything but CPU cooling, because of the price, and, if you have the superfluous cash, possibly for a fan mounted to blow on a GPU. I would definitely consider it for a fan set to blow on multiple GPUs, as the top card general is somewhat choked off by the bottom card. That would be a worthy use for this fan, as well. As far as the case itself, can't see it being worth the money. The majority of fan noise comes from the backside, where the air is being ejected from. Ergo, these in the front would be rather expensive, for the gains. However, I've found the top-rear fan to be pretty crucial to good case temps (I say "I've found" like it isn't really obvious or something...), so, an NF-A14 iPPC-2000 would be a fine investment (if you can fit a 140mm fan there), moving mad air as quietly as possible. Storage Drives don't need tons of cooling, so it's overkill there, too. Although, me, personally, sans the CPU, GPU, and top-rear fans, I would like to fill my Phantom 530 with as many Noctua Redux fans as possible, so it wouldn't sound as much like an Apache Helicopter, as a computer. It's just a fan, and yet, somehow, it's significantly, and noticeably, better than other fans. Kudos, Noctua, for making such a seemingly benign and innocuous component excel so far beyond the standard.
Highly recommended and would buy again. Beautifully engineered. Even the packaging exudes quality.
I have a Corsair 550D case and replaced the 2 front fans with 2 of these, and even at max speed they are still very quiet in this case. Temps are 5-6c lower for the hard drives and CPU, the 1060 I have in the case runs around 35-37 at idle and around 65 while gaming. Very happy with these fans. Bought another at 140mm to replace my CPU radiator fan.
