I put this in my PC case as a front intake because my case has sort of a thick mesh and it works great. Super silent, dropped my temps a few degrees C too! You might want to consider the Noctua A12x25, especially if you are planning to put this on an AIO but this is a stellar fan in it's own regard so you'll be happy. Something also to note is that this is a Chromax fan so it will not include the accessories from the non-Chromax fans like Y-splitters, low noise adapters, and an extension cable. The lack of a Y-splitter was almost a huge problem for me because I thought I didn't have another fan header until I found a chassis fan header under the M.2 shield on my motherboard.Pricing on the other hand is a little weird. I know Noctua fans cost a little more than other fans, but I was ready to pay that because they are great in quality. This wasn't the issue. Sadly, I think Microcenter's MSRP data on Noctua fans is a little dated because the price on this fan was about $10 higher than what the fan goes on sold by Noctua on Amazon ($35 in store vs $25 on Amazon). Looking at the other Noctua products on Microcenter's website, I think this is true across the board- not just on this product. Luckily, Microcenter is pretty awesome about price matching so all you really need to do is just double check Amazon and get an associate to price match the fan. Given that this really is just a minor hassle, only dinging a star.

I bought this a while back because the d15 I bought went too far out of my case with the 140mm that came stock, like it was a tripping hazard. So turns out I could mount a 120mm clear the ram and case.It is the standard noctua colors which are ugly, but a can of black spray paint fixes that if you like. It is more quite that an 18wheeler running down a highway at 70mph, slightly smaller than a modern breadbox, and draws less power than your average household. So all in all I like it more than my ex-wife and slightly less than my car.

When I purchased these fans I didn't expect them to be the quietest, I was buying them more so for the great cooling that they offered as that was my main issue. But I can't help but notice the noise after having these for about a year now. Even while I'm gaming with friends on mic they can hear these fans in the background and often make jokes about it. I have to use noise cancellation settings when doing video recordings and streaming or these fans will be very noticeable and annoying. I couldn't figure out how to control the fan speed, but thats more so my issue than the manufacturers so I won't knock them for it although some kind of software would be nice to include. I expected them to be a little noticeable but not as much as they have been(especially being Noctua brand) which is why I'm not leaving 5 eggs and even considered leaving a 3 egg rating. But they are good quality fans and they don't look terrible. The blades have nice contours to them, you can tell that they are quality products, but the noise. I'm not too much of a freak when it comes to noise levels, never have been. So for the most part I can tune them out and not really notice them but others who are more noise sensitive will probably have issues with these fans. Definitely do not buy if you are looking for an ultra quiet cooling solution. But do buy if you are just looking for a great industrial level cooling solution and sound level is not an issue for you, these fans will get the job done!
You get what you pay for. I'm somewhat of a Noctua snob/addict, having owned both the NH-D14/D15, NH-U12S/14S, NH-C14, NH-L9i... that's just CPU heatsink coolers. I am also the proud owner of various F12/A14/A15 fans as well as some "golden oldies" that are still in production: the P12 and P14 fans. Send a PM if you'd like a picture of my Noctua collection, just kidding. In all seriousness, I have spent hundreds and hundreds of dollars on various Noctua products and I don't intend on stopping, ever. On one hand, they are pricey. And until recently, there was very limited selection in terms of colour, with no RGB support, if you care about that sort of thing. But the many reviews are correct, and I can attest to this. And until recently, there was very limited selection in terms of colour, with no RGB support, if you care about that sort of thing. But the many reviews are correct, and I can attest to this. These fans provide excellent cooling capabilities, even at low speeds. At these speeds, which is your typical "normal" operation, the fans are very quiet. I do want to point out, to me (and most "normal" people) the fans are *obviously* loud at high speed. It's a stretch to think that a fan running at max rpm wouldn't be audible, but I digress. These fans are meant to perform well at low speeds, and provide the extra cooling you need in "bursts" at high speed. A final note: one of my fans was dying (made a very noticeable clicking sound at any speed). This fan was over 5 years old, and the RMA process was smooth, painless and *quick*. I live in a major city and received the replacement fan in just over a week: 8 days. I can't say enough about their support and was already completely sold on their products. Thanks again, Noctua, please continue to make great products and take my money!!!
Noctua has long been lauded as the best makers of PC fans, but the ugly tan and brown colors that are their calling card kept me from using their fans for far too long. This line of fans comes in a standard black color that matches most PCs. In addition, they include a spectrum of colorful rubber bumpers that can be installed about the corners to better match color-coordinated builds. Cable extensions are also included in addition to packets of screws. I purchased a pair of these fans to replace some stock NZXT fans that came with a Kraken AIO that I purchased purely for cosmetic reasons. The difference was immediately apparent with a reduction in noise and temperatures. If you think you're old enough to give RGB zero credits for performance then read on. Any 2000RPM single/dual fan doing all the hard work will produce undesirable results. The reason I say this is because I've put 6 of these in my Lian Li PC-011D case and all of them spin at about 60-70% speed while under load i.e. cooling an i7 8700K @ 5.1GHz all cores. I've replaced the ML 120 RGB fans on my Corsair H150i with these and I don't know if I see a temp drop compared to the ML's as I've swapped the ML's out right of the box. At idle I see temps not going beyond 48-51C (at 700-800RPM, which is less than 50% speed and quite the way I like it). With ambient temps ranging between 24-31C, the max I hit under full load is 68-73C (at 1250-1400 RPM). I personally like the understated look of these fans, afterall its not how the PC looks when it's turned ON (RGB), it's about how it makes you feel when you look at it while it's turned OFF (**Noctua**) as well. Anything that performs well in todays market doesn't come cheap - Employees, kids and Noctua case fans are no execption. Add Chromax bling to these and we're talking bail money territory. In short, these are one of the best fans you need if you want to squeeze performance, maintain a strict balance between balance itself and beauty; all while giving a subtle cultural shock to the overwhelming RGB madness.
First impressions matter and this one certainty placed it's foot in the door. No. Not even. Albiet it should be noted that said green painted fans that I previously used were of a used condition when I placed them toe to toe with these new industrial fans. Even for fans with the Noctua branding slapped upon 'em. I would suggest to anyone to only reserve these fans for cpu cooling to take advantage of it's focus flow technology. Nothing more as using these puppies as case fans will make your neighbors complain. Even if your building is segregated from theirs. All and all these fans were so good that I bought yet another set.
As with most Noctua fans, they are more expensive than standard run of the mill fans. However, this Industrial version is supposed to be more heavy duty, with a longer lifespan and producing more air pressure. Both of these factors are quite hard to comment on because you expect it to take a LONG time before this kind of product fails, or as an end user with a pc, I don't have the ability to measure actual air pressure through the water cooling radiator it is mounted on.That said, I trust Noctua's reputation for quality hardware, along with various independent reviews on this fan, and my own previous experiences with their fans. So I was prepared to pay more for the best.Scan delivered it in their usual quick and efficient way and I quickly mounted it in a living room Small Form Factor pc.The first and most obvious thing to notice is that this fan has rubber sleeves on the mounting screw corners, a simple idea which must reduce any vibration noise from it. ALL fan makers should follow this example for such a simple, cheap to produce, mod on their fans, as it eliminates vibration not just around the screw holes, but from both sides of the mounting frame, wherever it touches anything else. The second thing you notice is that there is no fourth control wire on it, as an INDUSTRIAL grade fan, it's obviously designed to run at full speed (2000 rpm I believe), maximum "thrust" throughout it's life. This actually makes it a little noisy air noise wise, in a quiet living room atmosphere, so slightly less desirable in that environment, something I should have thought about more before buying this model. It is however no more noisy than most fans during game play and it doesn't need to speed up or slow down, which can be more irritating, so during a game its not noticeable. I did set it to quiet mode in the Asus bios though, which actually seemed to make very little difference, obviously because of the lack of a control wire. With this being an SFF machine, which has an EVGA Nvidia 980 GTX graphics card in it, there isn't a lot of room for components, which is why I went for the high CFC fan in the first place, on the Corsair 80I enclosed water cooling system. The hot air coming out the back of this rig during gaming is just that, HOT, not WARM, so the 3 main fans including this one, are extracting heat efficiently when I have been running games at their highest settings on a 55" 4k tv. Keeps the room quite warm, along with the passive heat from the Yamaha AV Amp in the same rack.As I said you don't really hear it when in game anyway and it's the normal fan air movement whoosh, not some sort of jarring noise which would be irritating. This Noctua replaces a stock Corsair fan on the double thickness 120 mm 80I radiator, but there is no room for a second fan as a push pull setup, so I am happy with my choice. It cools the cpu well in what is a warm room, in a quite tightly enclosed case, even under the high heat producing stress conditions of high end gaming on an overclocked I5, so it is efficient at doing what it was bought for. Which is all that really matters that it protects my gear from overheating, while allowing me to game whenever and for as long as I want without any worries.

Thanks to the outstanding aerodynamic efficiency of the NF-F12 design and the use of a novel three-phase motor, the industrialPPC version provides superior airflow and pressure capacity while keeping noise levels and power consumption moderate as against comparable high-speed fans. While its fibre-glass reinforced polyamide construction and certified water and dust protection make the NF-F12 industrialPPC suitable for operation in challenging environments, the renowned SSO2 bearing technology guarantees an MTBF of over 150.000hrs. Topped off with Noctuas trusted reliability and 6 years manufacturers warranty, the NF-F12 industrialPPC is an ideal choice for highly demanding applications that require superior flow rates and ultimate dependability. Main Features Award-winning NF-F12 design - Having received more than 150 awards and recommendations from the international press, Noctua's NF-F12 has become a proven premium choice for 120mm cooling needs. Its renowned efficiency has convinced tens of thousands of customers all over theworld. 2000rpm industrialPPC version - Thanks to its elevated 2000rpm top speed, the NF-F12 industrialPPC-2000 provides a significant performance boost over the 1500rpm retail version. Combined with the industrialPPC series' robust polyamide construction and advanced protection features, this makes the fan ideal for challenging industrial applications. Three-phase motor design - While most axial fans use single-phase motors with 4 slots, Noctua's industrialPPC fans feature a three-phase design with 6 slots, which provides smoother transitions between the slots and thus allows for even higher running smoothness, further reduced vibrations and unprecedented energy efficiency. Class-leading energy efficiency - While the standard NF-F12 is one of the most energy efficient 1500rpm 120mm fans on the market, the industrialPPC version's three-phase motor provides a further 10% reduction in power consumption when compared at 2000rpm. Fibre-glass reinforced polyamide construction - Both the impeller and the frame of Noctua's industrialPPC fans are made entirely from fibre-glass reinforced polyamide. This material can withstand temperatures up to 140C and makes the fans even more robust and break-proof than Noctua's standard fibre-glass reinforced PBT fans. Certified IP52 water- and dust protection - Thanks to a special varnish coating that covers the motor and PCB, the NF-F12 industrialPPC complies with the ingress protection rating IP52. This means that it is not only highly dust resistant but also withstands dripping water equivalent to 3mm rainfall per minute. Focused FlowT Frame - Designed for pressure demanding applications such as heatsinks and radiators, the Focused FlowT frame features eleven stator guide vanes that straighten, channel and focus the airflow, which allows the NF-F12 to rival the performance of conventional fans running at much faster speeds. Varying Angular Distance and Vortex Control Notches - The NF-F12's stator guide vanes are set out in Varying Angular Distance and feature Vortex-Control Notches. Both measures help to spread the noise emission over a broader frequency spectrum and thus make the fan's sound pattern more agreeable to the human ear. HeptaperfT Impeller - Custom designed for the new Focused FlowT frame and to work in tandem with the eleven stator guide vanes, the NF-F12's seven blade HeptaperfT impeller has been carefully optimised to achieve a perfect balance between power and quietness. AAO Frame - Noctua's AAO (Advanced Acoustic Optimisation) frames feature integrated anti-vibration pads as well as Noctua's proprietary Stepped Inlet Design and Inner Surface Microstructures, both of which further refine the fan's performance/noise efficiency. Inner Surface Microstructures - With the tips of the fan blades ploughing through the boundary layer created by the Inner Surface Microstructures, flow separation from the suction side of the blades is significantly suppressed, which results in reduced blade passing noise and improved airflow and pressure efficiency. Stepped Inlet Design - Noctua's Stepped Inlet Design adds turbulence to the influx in order to facilitate the transition from laminar flow to turbulent flow, which reduces tonal intake noise, improves flow attachment and increases suction capacity, especially in space-restricted environments. Integrated Anti-Vibration Pads - Integrated Anti-Vibration Pads made from extra-soft silicone minimise the transmission of minute vibrations while maintaining full compatibility with all standard screws and other mounting systems. SSO2 Bearing - The NF-F12 industrialPPC features the further optimised second generation of Noctua's renowned, time-tes
