NYX Professional Makeup Bare with Me Blur Tint Foundation Yellowen Light

As someone with a light olive skin tone, it's hard to find a foundation shade that can pass as a good match—they're always too pink, too yellow, or they make me look sick. This foundation (unfortunately) doesn't come with olive tones, but the shade light neutral is a good enough match! This foundation is so nice—lightweight, not sticky or tacky, and it has a really nice medium coverage matte finish that doesn't feel super drying. It lasts all day with very little powder to set it (as I say in every review, I live in Florida—I've spent summer days in theme parks without this foundation budging on my face). My skin is also becoming more fickle with foundations as I get older, so that's not helping. Otherwise, it's a great foundation and a great price! Highly recommend!

This foundation is medium coverage and has a matte finish. It can be light coverage if you use a small amount, but definitely buildable to medium. I received the color Vanilla 05, which has a relatively warm undertone. I think it the shade and undertone didn’t work for me, a deeper shade with a slight olive tone might’ve worked better. I blended down my entire neck to not have 2 tones of face and neck. I have pretty oily skin and the final result was very, very matte. It was a bit too matte for my liking, since I usually wear minimal makeup and prefer a dewy or natural finish. Luckily, it didn’t bunch up on any problem areas, like around the nose. I paired it with the NYX Bare With Me serum concealer, which I already own and love and is light to medium coverage. I tried it with liquid blush and highlighter, which didn’t move the foundation. Topped it off with UD all nighter setting spray and it stayed matte. Kept the makeup on for the full day and went out, nothing looked cakey. I usually get oily during the day, but didn’t use blotting papers or powder because I preferred the more natural look after some oil came through the foundation. It’s a product I would use sometimes if I want to do a full face of makeup, but likely not in this shade. Go for it if you love matte finish foundations but don’t want the full coverage that most of them have.

Blotchy, flakey and does not blend.

This foundation left me looking blotchy, washed out, and parched. It did not blur anything for me. I was hoping for a light coverage foundation to replace my BB cream. This was not a tint, it was medium coverage that didn't blend well. I have combination skin, more on the oily side & live in a hot humid climate but even in the summer this made my skin look so dry and flakey. It did a decent job of covering redness, but the ashy texture around blemishes made them even more noticeable. My pores looked rough even though I used the NYX pore filling primer under the foundation. The only upside, is that there are a wide range of skin tones available.

Colour match great, formula disappointing.

I have used Born to Glow foundation for years, but as it is hard to buy I gave this a try. Have been using it for almost a year now, and have been disappointed. The colour match is fantastic, and wonderful to see so many different shades but hasn't agreed with my skin in any season.Have used it with the studio perfect green, and the angel veil primer, along with three different NYX setting sprays. Every time it cakes into pores, clings to dry spots, and won't stick onto my skin any time it is perfectly hydrated. No matter how little, or much I use it comes out patchy, and cakey. Even with the primer, powder, and setting spray it will transfer onto anything that comes in contact with my skin.Point for the colour range.

Foundation melts off face

I love the shade, matches well. I used it with a primer of the same base and just had massive problems with the foundation coming off mid application on the parts of my face that were warm. I get big red patches on my face (not irritation, it's a blood flow thing) and if that's happening Id love to even out my skin with a tint/foundation. Put it on a couple times without the red flares and totally fine, but as soon as i try it with flushing it rips off with my beauty blender. In huge patches! Ive removed, applied, removed, 3 times the other day and it still happened on just one cheek. I love NYX products but this is a solid no. Maybelline super stay saved my evening.

I really tried to love it

I was using the Bare with Me skin veil which I loved. But of course they discontinued, as they do with so many products that seem popular. I gave this one a try, a lot of tries actually. First off, the shade was just slightly too light even though I had researched and researched. But that's my fault. But the formula itself is very thick. Creamy, yes, but still so thick it was difficult to blend. And very matte. Almost chalky as it dries. I realized soon to not use with my normal primer. I actually found it worked better without any primer and just my moisturizer. But still it was tough to get it smooth on my skin. I mixed it with another liquid to try to get it a different consistency, and that helped a little. It was just too much work for an early morning. And it did have staying power, even without my primer. But it just didn't look right on my skin. Blotchy, streaky, chalky. Don't even try to put powder over it. That made it worse. And the bottle is awful. It's a flip top, squeeze bottle. It was always a mess. I kept having to wipe the top and all around the edge. This one was just a fail for me.

Lightest Shade Pale Isn't Ultra Pale

I have normal leaning dry skin type and I love this foundation! For my skin it does everything it claims. It looks smoothing and blurring and gives me a soft matte finish. I can change the finish with whatever skin care or primer I use under it. If I want a more natural or satin finish, I use hydrating and glowy products under it. I just read the previous review complaining about the shade Pale being too pale for them. They have a choice to buy a deeper shade that matches them, but I don't have a choice to buy a lighter shade. This is not pale enough to match me, but I wear it anyway. It's actually deeper than I thought it would be. For reference, some matches that are light enough for me are KVD balm in 002 and Too Faced BTW in Cloud. I've noticed a lot of people who complain about the lightest shades of foundations being too light or "ghostly" as they call it, are choosing the wrong shade. They don't realize they can easily choose the next deeper shade. They think they are pale but don't consider us that are truly ultra pale or people with albinism. We buy foundation too and we only have the lightest shade to pick. Very strange to complain about the lightest shade being too light when they have twenty or thirty other shades to choose from.

I’m so conflicted. I know it’s matte and I do prefer more of a satin finish. It looks good from afar. However, up close it looks patchy sort of around my nose; but smooth at the same time. It’s hard to explain. It does feels lightweight like a BB cream. I used my hands the first time and a brush the second time. I prefer the brush better. I also did use the gel primer that goes with it. Maybe the application is better because of that. I’ll continue to use it, to see if it gets better. It doesn’t look creasy or caky though. I took pictures in natural light and no filters. I chose a shade lighter than what I thought I really needed based on the names. NYX Professional Blur(skin tint)Foundation Makeup

I loved the color of the skin tint foundation; but the wearability of it kind of dwindles with this product. I’ve used many different NYX foundations before, but none of them have faded *within a matter of mins of applying it* to almost invisible on the skin - like this foundation did. As an A.A. - I wouldn’t recommend this product to people of our colours due to the fact that our pigment is darker, and heavier than others/the majority’s; therefore any type of fading/loss of color with product can be very noticeable with us. Overall it wasn’t a horrible product, but I would not purchase this item from Nyx again. :/

On the fence

I’m really on the fence about this foundation. The first day I used it I was blown away by how blurred my skin looked, definitely good coverage and looked fab when I finished my make up. Wanted to give it the test if time and waited until the end of the day. I noticed it has started to highlight my dry skin around my nose which does happen with other foundations so wanted to give it another couple of days. Second day I used it and I noticed by the end of the day it had highlighted my dry patches even more and then some. Tried a third day and it strangely started highlighting creases in my skin or where parts of my skin got a bit oily started creating lines which was very odd to me. I’m giving it 3 stars as it was really bad but it also wasn’t really great, I’m just a bit unsure about it even after 3 days wear.
