Flak Jacket is my favorite. Tried the Flak Beta because of the price. Really like these…the only issue I have is the way hold to my head. The Flak Jacket has the rubber boot that keeps the glasses in place. These are secured mostly by one point…at least on my head. Not sure I can wear them for long periods without some discomfort. But I will give them that chance. My favorite thing about these is the lens size…they are larger that the Flak Jacket. But just the right amount larger. At this point I would buy them again.

This is actually my second pair of flaks. I had my first pair for 12 years before I lost them. I love these sunglasses. I can wear them all day without any discomfort. These glasses are also very durable. I dropped my previous pair more time than I can remember, and they just kept on going. There are very few companies that I stand behind but Oakley is one of them. I have owned various products of theirs from glasses, googles, boots, to a ski jacket and they have been top notch products.

I've had 6 or 8 pairs of Oakleys over the years. I recently went to the eye doctor & was told I have Glaucoma in 25% of my right eye. I knew that was serious & the doctor said wear sun glasses to help. I immediately knew I was going to get some Black Iridium lenses like I used to wear years ago. The Flaks fit close & tight to your face, helpful if your trying to avoid sun with my diagnosis. I love the fit. Thanks Oakley for your Flak Betas that are just right.

Got my new Flak Betas and love them. Previously I had the Oriental fit as I have a small face. These are a bit bigger (not much) but I actually like them better as the coverage is complete. I can’t really see the edges of the glasses like I could with the others, which is great for tennis, mountain biking, etc. I went with the dark lenses—I had a pinkish tint before but prefer the dark for sports.
Recently had cataract surgery; and with my new "natural" lenses, sunlight became a problem. As I am a golfer, I am in the sunlight often. After researching, the Flak Beta's seemed to be good choice; and they are. Good fit (I have a small head), no issues with sunlight, look great, and being on sale; where at a price point that I was comfortable paying.
Third pair of Oakley prescription sunglasses I’ve purchased. Most likely the last. I was unable to order standard Flak Jacket like the last two pairs. These Flak Beta are not the same quality as the Flak Jacket I’m replacing. With each purchase I noticed corners progressively being cut on the quality of case being sent with each pair of glasses as well.
Bought the Flak to replace an older version of same model which I accidentally ran over. Loved this model and reordered them. Newer version is so much different. Gone is the flexible frame, rubber accents, replaceable lenses. Older version was very comfortable. New version is stiff plastic.
While these are nice glasses, they are not the best replacements for the Flak Jackets / XLJ ? etc glasses. They sit on the cheeks of the face a little more and cause the bottoms to get smudges on them easily. Also, when you have them on your head, above your eyes, they sit lower to the face/hair causing them to get more smudges on them. They are increasingly difficult to keep the lenses clear. And they are slightly more narrow from side to side - it just looks a little more weird. But they are lightweight and sharp glasses.
Like always with Oakley products, the quality of this products is very good. They also look great. They offer good sun protection from all direction. What didn’t work for me is that they are too narrow and close to my eyes. I could feel my eye lashes against the lenses. I am not sure if these are junior glasses and I didn’t notice. If they are for adults, they might be too small for most people.
I selected the high-transmission/high-contrast lens with all available coatings … the best I’ve yet seen. I also used a prescription grind, which of course has some trade-offs when you go from a flat-lens prescription to a curved lens, but I’m very pleased with the result. I run rocky trails in (usually) mixed sun and shade, and the glasses are great! Much better than the photochromic lenses I used previously.
