I used this product in my skincare routine with both of the recommended moisturizers (the peptide at night and the gel C moisturizer during the day). The first time i applied it on clean skin without any moisturizer, my skin got red and burn for a while. After i started to apply a thin layer of mousturizer before it which resulted better. İt smells very good, as if an orange peeled in the room but the serum is very thick. The texture is more like a cream rather than a serum. Also after like a few minutes (dried) it feels sticky similar to sticky hands after peeling oranges. İt is obvious it includes high amount of vitamin c but difficult to use. If you are unsure about how your skin will react to this yummy product, patch test it first in-store on the inside of your arm/elbow, behind your ear, etc., and give it a full 24 hours before deciding to go back and get it. I have been a long-time user of Ole Henriksen products. I have used the juice truth cleanser, dewtopia and Truth serum for years. Recently I picked up the Banana bright serum on accident when I needed a refill on Truth Serum. The products look similar and when I realized I picked up a different product, I was excited to try it since seemed similar but that might have some added benefits. Sadly after using the product for a short time, it caused my skin to swell, peel and turn red. The effects lasted a few days even after I stopped using it. I have never had an issue like this with another product and love all the other ones I use. It is an expensive product so may want to try Truth Serum which has never caused any problem and had great results.
Although very pricey, I do have to admit, this Vitamin C serum is absolutely gorgeous. Goes on a dream and absorbs really quickly. I can't say I can see a a real difference in my skin, because every time I look in the mirror, I'm too busy looking at all the imperfections on my face. But friends and family have said my skin looks lovely. So it must be doing something right. I have dry, mature, lined skin, as well as thyroid eye disease. Obviously, I only apply the serum to my face, nowhere near my eyes, but if the serum was too strong, my eyes would let me know. They haven't watered at all, there is no stinging sensation, no irritation on my face at all. I'm very impressed, and for that reason alone, I will continue to buy this serum.

An AMAZING product when used correctly. If you aren't used to strong acids you need to build up to this. It may irritate, especially when other acids are used. My first time using I was a little cocky with it and didn't research well and ended up with irriation. After learning how to use correctly, building my way up from once a week to a daily routine....I don't think I could live without it! My skin is plump, glowy and all around feels luxurious. This is my winter go to, once summer comes I will switch back to the Vitamin C Truth serum, it's lighter and not as strong, but still amazing.Do your research, everyone's skin is different but I LOVE LOVE LOVE this product.

I honestly don’t understand the bad reviews but I only use this serum at night by itself with the eye cream (also great) so maybe it doesn’t work well with other products on top. BUT… it is worth it to use it solo at night. It goes on so smooth and smells like fresh citrus and in the morning my skin feels soft, smooth and not at all oily. My pores are also noticeably tighter. I've tried a few vitamin C serums before and never really liked any or felt that was much advantage to using them. I had a decent sized sample of this one and finally decided to give it a try. My skin is instantly brighter with use. I love using it on mornings when I feel tired and run down- it leaves me looking fresher, even if I just use moisterizer over it and skip foundation. I ran out a week ago so and miss it, so I ordered a full size today and the eye cream that goes with-- which I haven't tried yet--but hoping it has similar brightening effect. Leaves skin soft. It does have a citrusy-type scent, which surprisingly does not bother me. I only note it when applying it but it is not noticible throughout the day
