Olympea by Paco Rabanne for Women-1 ml

I like this perfume. I bought it specifically because of the salt note. I don't think the salt is too overpowering and blends well with the florals and vanilla. The green mandarin and florals, as well as the ambergris in the base keeps this perfume from becoming too sweet or the salt too intense. I think that's something I like about this perfume, there's something kind of green, something fresh, something sweet, something salty in it and all of these different features work well together. Fairly strong projection when I first spray it, moderate longevity. I don't think I would necessarily wear this all the time but I like it and will definitely find times where I want to use this.

I blind bought Olympea because I’d heard about it for years being hailed as a cult favourite and I was looking for a nice scent for the upcoming hot weather. It’s a beautiful fresh gourmand scent and reminds you of how versatile vanilla can be. The salt and water jasmine makes the vanilla light and airy, which is definitely needed in warm weather as a true vanilla can be overpowering in the heat. It projects amazingly and I could still smell it on myself after 8+ hours of wear. Strong summer vibes with this one. Added to my summer lineup!

Olympea has been my go-to fragrance since it launched. I worked in a perfumery for years and this was my scent that I loved the most. I remember going to a launch party for it too! It’s a beautiful floral smell, with hints of vanilla, and slightly oriental smells. It’s fabulous for day wearing or evening too. It’s on par price wise with most other designer fragrances.

What can I say about this beautiful perfume. Olympea is a beautiful vanilla fragrance that isn’t too sweet and is perfect for everyday wear. It has a salt scent note that also makes it perfect for the summer. It will make you smell like you spent all day at the beach and you came home smelling beautiful and salty. This is definitely not a gourmand fragrance. The vanilla is a mid scent note that is light and airy, but definitely still there. With top notes of water jasmine and ginger flower, this is such a pretty soft floral that is perfect as an everyday and signature scent. It is also very affordable for what you’re getting. This smells expensive and is worth the money to purchase it.

When I purchased it and brought it home, I noticed that when I’d spray directly onto my skin, the smell was extremely unpleasant. It dried down almost sour-pukey. I tried damp skin, dry skin, lotion, no lotion, different body washes, but could just not make this work for me. So I started using on only clothes but it would inevitably end up with that same smell after a few hours. Summery, beachy, sea breezy. Playful. Shimmery. I feel like a glistening tanned goddess enjoying the hot sun and warmed sand. Sensual vanilla, floral, salty crusted oceanic waters. The fragrance could work year round. If you don’t enjoy salt scents, you might not like this. Don’t blind buy this fragrance.

I honestly really disliked the smell of this at first. It starts very salty but once it blends with your skin it becomes a thick caramel, sweet and salty scent that you'll love. It's definitely not for everyone but it will definitely have you turning heads. It lasts forever and you hardly need to use any.
