It pills or peels: no, it does not unless you are over-applying it. Use the tiniest amount — you can always add more, it's harder to take product away (this is true anywhere in makeup as it is in art). I put a small drop on and press it into my skin with clean fingers. If I need a little more I add a LITTLE more to cover any areas around my face that I missed.2. It doesn't stop sweat: I've had hyperhidrosis my entire life — the bridge of my nose, head/hairline, upper lip, chin... all sweat pretty profusely. I apply this product over moisturizer (Dermalogica Active Moist, specifically) that I allow to sink in first before using this primer. I use a small amount of setting powder (Hourglass Veil) and powder bronzer (Hourglass) and did not use setting spray of any kind the several times I tested it with both the Fenty Eaze Drop and Haus Labs foundation. My makeup still looked flawless after hours of running errands and puppy walks in the heat.3. It leaks out of the package: Store it wit

I bought this with my own money - no freebie or test product. I bought it because I don't have AC at home and I'm always slowed down so much in the humid heat when I'm doing my makeup because my face keeps sweating as I'm trying to apply makeup. I bought this and used as directed - dry face, tapping on a dime sized amount. It did not work immediately. I still had issues putting on my makeup. (I use a Dyson on the cool shot between steps to try to alleviate this). It does, however, work throughout the day. I haven't had issues of sweating off my makeup as I go about my day. I gave it 4 stars because the reason I bought it was to make my initial application faster, easier, and drier, and it didn't do that. But all the other claims are true. Oh, and I wish it came in a pump, or at least a squeeze tube with the pointy tip. As many others have said here, the tube is messy and wasteful. The product is a little runny and liquid for this packaging.

I'm kind of iffy when it comes to this primer......

I want to love it and I want to figure out why it does what it does. It peels so bad. Idk what I could be doing wrong and I want to know. I want an answer cause I want to give this primer another chance but it unfortunately ruins my makeup as soon as I apply my foundation cause it makes my foundation peel along with the primer. So I end up with a horrible makeup look and I hate it. I try to blend it back in and it doesn't do much good. Like I said I truly want to give it another try but until I know what could be the cause I just don't believe I will ever buy this primer again only because of the peeling. Mainly cause it matches my skin the best since I have fair skin with a pink undertone and I need a mattifying product. Hopefully someone can reach out to me and also explain why it could peel cause I know from the reviews I have read I am not the only one having this issue and I know others would like an answer as well. Thank you. Hopefully I hear from someone. 🙂

IT FINALLY HAPPENED!!
4 May 2023

I'm leaving this review in hopes of helping someone. I have found that this primer does peel with the Nars Soft matte foundation. I haven't found it peels with any others and I've tried the YSL all hours, mufe hd skin, mac nourishing waterproof, estee lauder double wear, and too faced born this way matte. I will continue to keep trying it with different foundations and update as I go. I am not sure why it doesn't work with the nars but it was my first time experiencing that peeling that everyone else has and I used it the exact same way i've been using it for the last 2 weeks. I had to remove my full face. I do truly love this primer and what it does for my makeup, but I am going to hate only using it with certain foundations. I will try it one last time with the nars foundation and see and will leave another review in about a week with more foundations it either works with or doesnt work with. It looks the best with the too faced born this way matte foundation so far. I will try it out with dior forever matte, too faced born this way original, dior face and body, morphe filter effect, nars light reflecting, sephora best skin ever, and loreal infallible pro matte. If you haven't guessed already I am extremely oily and love a soft matte (i guess the girls are calling it cloud skin these days) finish. Plus I need my makeup to LAST ALL DAY. This primer does that and makes me look smooth, if only it'll work with everybody

This is really good primer but......
5 March 2024

The primer itself is truly a great product. I, like a lot of others who have tried this have been faced with peeling after applying and letting it sit. I have found a few things out from trial and error. First make sure face is clean and moisturized and let the moisturizer set for at least a few minutes. Second only apply a small amount or atleast enough to cover whole face without using too much. A dime size is what is suggested, but sometimes I need a little more than a dime size but usually just slightly more, not anymore than that. But before you apply the primer rub your fingers together with the primer on your fingers(that's why I say to put a little more than a dime sized cause by the time you put it on your fingers and rub it in it kind of shrinks in the ... MoreThe primer itself is truly a great product. Then you can apply the primer to your face and press it in or as I like to do, I take it and gently rub it in but not hard or anything just enough to work it into the skin. After doing so, let it sit on your face for a minute maybe 2. Then go in with some loose setting powder on a fluffy brush and set it. Just apply a light dusting on face or on areas where it gets most oily. Then wait a few seconds. Then use a sponge to apply foundation. I use Maybelline products. The fit me kind and it works pretty well with the primer. I use the loose setting powder as well. Then once everything is applied to my face such as blush and stuff I go in with the One Size setting spray and spray it and it helps as well. Also another tip make sure your skin is in a cool area, I like to have the ac going in the car while applying it since it helps my skin not sweat and not get oily since I apply my makeup in the car while my mom takes me to work. I know it sounds a little hectic but that's all I have time for since I have a toddler to care for. Just try and do what works for you. Lol. Just do you. 😂 But in all seriousness try the tip above and you might just have some luck with this primer.

Wanted to love, but disappointed
10 July 2024

I followed the directions with using only a dime size amount, warming up it up on my finger tips, then pressing it onto my skin. Tried to use the pro tip as well as to wait a minute for the product to dry down before applying make-up.After applying it to my skin I did notice a slight burning sensation. At first I didn't see any irritation at all so I just let it be. Once I started to apply my make up I noticed it would look patchy, and cakey in some certain areas. Definitely hard to blend make-up and then it started pilling all over my face.I still tried to give it the benefit of the doubt, so continued on with my day since I would be home all day and this Hawaii heat should put this product to the test. After about 3 or 4 hours, I noticed I'm actually more oily then when I would use the Secure the Blur primer. So at that point I called it a day, because my foundation just started to look even more cakey, patchy, and started to crack/separate.After taking off my make up, I noticed a whole lot of redness on my t-zone, cheeks, and around my mouth. I guess I did end up getting a chemical burn. Not only was I left with redness, but also dry patches on my cheeks that do look a bit scaly now. The pictures taken were the next morning where the redness have subsided thanks to aloe vera.I believe the concept of the product is amazing, but the execution was just not there. I really wanted to love this product, since I do love Patrick's secure the blur primer. Definitely will be returning this product.

I cannot get enough of this product. It's amazing! I have super oily skin along the t-zone and my cheeks get a bit tacky later in the day. My skin is also very textured with large pores. This makes my skin look great and it holds everything all day.I have gone at least 6 hours before by skin starts to feel oily along by brows, but it doesn't look it. There's no shine and my makeup does not budge. Everything still looks great. I didn't get even that with Hourglasses Veil primer or Mac's mattifying primer. I need to touch up a little by the 8 hour mark with just some setting powder along the t-zone as I do get a bit shiny then and can't stand the oily feel. Though if you pair this with the Til Dawn mattifying setting spray from One/Size I don't even need to touch ... MoreI cannot get enough of this product. It's amazing! So I decided to put this up to the ultimate sweat test and I wore this with a full face of makeup to my local ren faire. I will say it performed beautifully! Please read the instructions on the box careful. A little bit of the gel like product goes a long way. I rubbed it between my hands and gently patted it into the skin, no rubbing. It gives a matte finish to the skin which was definitely needed. It was so hot outside in the late 80s with barely any shade. I was definitely sweating! But my make up stayed in tact really well. I even asked my friend midway through the day how it looked and she was impressed. I felt no sweat on my face which made my day a lot more enjoyable. I started to use the One/Size Secure The Sweat Waterproof Mattifying Primer. The tube of this is super cute. However, the tube could use a bit of improvement because once I opened it for the first time. The product was coming out so fast and a lot. I ended up wasting some of it until I was able to squeeze the tube so that it would go back in. Less is more when it comes to this. I applied just a dime-size on my fingers and warmed it up a bit and applied to my face. I applied this after my moisturizer and eye cream. I let me face dry for a minute or two before I applied my foundation. This goes on really smooth. I noticed that my foundation looked way better with this. This has helped my makeup stay put no issues. No smudging. This did not clog my pores at all, so I have not had any breakouts. Typically with sweating in the summer I will get breakouts. While this is a summer must have for me, I am excited to use this year round. This is a perfect item to use when I know I will be going to the gym, and I can still look my best.

just tried out this new primer and i gotta say, i'm impressed! first off, the sweat-proof thing is legit. i wore this to a dance marathon (yes, I know, ambitious!) and my makeup did not budge. like, at all.my makeup seriously lasted all night long, and the matte finish? absolutely beautiful. i have combo skin, so finding something that keeps my T-zone in check without drying out the rest of my face is a struggle, but this primer nailed it. applying it was a breeze too—just a tiny bit is all you need. it's super smooth and really helps my foundation glide on evenly. pro tip: let it dry for a minute before putting on your makeup to get the best results. oh, and they suggest pairing it with their setting spray for extra hold, but tbh, I didn't need it! plus, i love ... Morejust tried out this new primer and i gotta say, i'm impressed! first off, the sweat-proof thing is legit. i wore this to a dance marathon (yes, I know, ambitious!) and my makeup did not budge. like, at all.my makeup seriously lasted all night long, and the matte finish? absolutely beautiful. i have combo skin, so finding something that keeps my T-zone in check without drying out the rest of my face is a struggle, but this primer nailed it. applying it was a breeze too—just a tiny bit is all you need. it's super smooth and really helps my foundation glide on evenly. pro tip: let it dry for a minute before putting on your makeup to get the best results. oh, and they suggest pairing it with their setting spray for extra hold, but tbh, I didn't need it! plus, i love that it's made with botanical stuff and no aluminum. feels good knowing it's working with my skin, not against it. overall, definitely my new go-to for keeping my makeup flawless all day (or all night!) long.
