I discovered Open Farm after watching a YouTube video talking about how much they recommend the food. I was immediately intrigued because the person discussing the brand was a giant dog breed owner- and this particular breed needs a diet that can keep up with their health and lifestyle. I figured- if someone recommends this for a purebred sighthound my diabetic cat would THRIVE. He had recently suffered a hospital visit after going into Diabetic Ketoacidosis and I thought I had been feeding them a great diet of Orijen with the occasional can of Instinct wet food (both STILL great brands btw- but do we really know how ethical they are?) but after hearing about Open Farm I immediately ordered the Turkey Dry and Wet and my diabetic cat was hooked right away. All 3 of my cats were crying the moment they smelled the food. I was mixing their old food with Open Farm and they went for the Open Farm right away. The wet food even smells appealing to humans- kind of like a very bland stew but it smelled FRESH. There were real ingredients in the wet food and all of us notice a difference. My cats’ fur is glossier- everyone is energetic and playful- bright eyed and healthy- and my diabetic guy is stable and doing great. I now have a subscription for a monthly delivery for Open Farm.

I had never heard of Open Farm before doing some online research several month ago into cat foods. I was looking for a wet cat food with high-quality ingredients from a company that was transparent about its ingredients and sourced them from farms where the animals were raised more ethically, sustainably, and humanely than animals raised for/used in most other premium cat foods. The Open Farm company kept showing up at the top of lists and appeared to meet my criteria really well. Its price was relatively compatible with the wet food I had been feeding my cat in the past (Wellness) so I decided to give it a try. In addition to the "pros" already listed: (1) My cat LOVES it, (2) it is very moist (different, more liquid texture than many canned cat foods, but I see ... Something to be aware of: It comes in a lined pouch/box sort of thing, not a can. Again, different, but just fine once you get used to the difference. The container, once opened, can be stored in the fridge without a traditional cover (the top folds back up, creating its own cover). I'm wondering if this sort of packaging is more environmentally friendly than traditional cans, but haven't looked further into this. In any event, the square containers are more efficient and space-saving to store than cans. Altogether review: A + I've found my new go-to cat food. Chuck and Dons: Please keep working with/stocking this company!

When we adopted our 9-year-old rescue Jeffrey, the shelter told us he would only eat dry food. We fed him twice a day, but he didn't much seem to care for anything we gave him, sometimes skipping breakfast entirely. We thought it was part of his curmudgeonly old man charm, the same way he stares at laser pointers and then walks away, or how he plops down on our house's most uncomfortable rug to sleep for five hours. Then we received a free sample of Open Farm's new wet food and thought, "Well, we're not going to eat it, may as well put it out for him to stare at."He gobbled it immediately. ALL of it. He mews for his dinner now (?!) and routinely empties his bowl, even if we give him just a tablespoon of wet food to top off his previously "unexciting" dry food. ... Recently my 16 year old cat( who has never been sick) developed a bacterial infection and we had to give her Clavamox. With the medicine harsh on the tummy, she became very picky with her normal diet ( which is age restricted) and we had a difficult time finding a food low in Protein without the garbage included. I originally was looking for the Organic Turkey Bone Broth in our store and a clerk gave me this. When I got home I realized it was not broth but a meal and my girlie ate the entire box. I eventually purchased the bone broth online and the variety pack of cat food and so far she is loving her meal. Keeping her body in balance and with proper nutrients while on a medication is so important at an elder age so I thank Open Farm for the options I was able to ... I have had a lot of cats and opened a lot of cat food containers from companies claiming to be natural or wholesome, or a combination thereof, but opening Open Farms Rustic Blend was truly a first. The food really does smell good enough for a person to eat; it smells a lot like human baby food, actually. Our cat has FIV and has had all kinds of strange reactions to various brands of canned and packet wet foods, but it was immediately obvious that Open Farm is on another level. His stools looked healthier, he stopped being sick, and we could tell that the food was doing wonders for him. We are still weaning him off of the 'junk food' by slowly increasing the percentage of Open Farm in his meals. It feels good doing something that is good for his health. Just like you ... Just like you wouldn't let your child eat pizza for every meal just because that's what they want, feeding your cat Rustic Blend is an investment in their health and longevity. Open Farm is a higher level of pet food. As a plus, their boxes are super well designed and easily and conveniently close for refrigerator storage when needed. Top notch product. I will definitely buy again and can't wait to see the day when our cat is totally cat-junk-food free and on a 100 percent Open Farm diet.
Our little 17 year old fella absolutely loves the Harvest Turkey Rustic Blend! He is so vocal every morning and nudges me toward the empty bowl for more! He loves lapping up the gravy and nibbling on the small chunks of actual meat and vegetables! He doesn’t chew hard food well; now we know he’s getting great nutrition. He wasn’t a big fan of the beef flavor. Customer service was great and replaced it with his favorite turkey flavor!
The food is not bad - my ragdoll who has a sensitive stomach was able to eat this without fuss / consequences. However the packaging made it really hard to get all the food out.Even though the packaging is made to more environmentally friendly, there was quite a bit of food left in the container that I couldn't retrieve even with the smallest spoon :( Feels wasteful leaving all that edible food in.Other than that, it is decent food - I purchased it when it was on sale. I don't think I will repurchase at full price
Two weeks and every morning they follow me around waiting to start their day with this topper. I noticed after I switched my kitties to this they threw up a lot of hair balls at first, which is a good thing because my one cat especially was backed up and loosing weight. My vet could not figure it out and wanted him to go on Hill's Science Diet HA. Did that with no improvement and loose stool. Changed to this and in 2 weeks he has thrown up 4 large hair balls and seems to be gaining wait again. I think it's the moisture content in this product that is doing the trick, and it's enjoyable to both cats. So far so good!
Received my order quickly and in good condition. However, when I fed my cat the first day, she didn’t eat anything. Tried second feeding, nothing. I fed her 2 cartons and nothing was eaten and was going to send back but found out though I’d get a refund, I would have to pay the shipping back. Deciding to sell in local FB market at a loss, one day out of cat food, I fed her this and she ate it Finally. Not the veggies but she seems to like it!Did sample a small bag of open farm dry food at Bosley’s, which is why I purchased wet food online though I wish they sampled wet food at pet stores.3 stars because of return policy….
We found Open Farm wet cat food at our local holistic pet store. We believe in the value of feeding our cats the highest quality food. From the day we brought Open Farm wet food home, our cats licked their plates clean. We noticed a change in our cat's fur/coat within a couple of days. All of a sudden it had a silky sheen. Our pickiest eater was picky no longer. We got on the Open Farm website and found that we could register for the auto-renew subscribe and save monthly order delivery and signed up. Open Farm is the only wet food we feed our cats now. From the humane certified label to the amazing organic ingredients to the recyclable packaging, we cannot say enough positive things about Open Farm.
