Great inexpensive classic EDC knife.

Fantastic simple knife with a classic look and feel. Twist collar for blade safety. Blade edge is very sharp and cuts nicely. I choose the olive wood handle for a bit of richness in looks. Feels sold, but not heavy, classic look and feel. Very happy that Kent of Ingelwood has stock as almost all No. 10 are out of stock. Thank you

Light and sharp

Perfect little multi purpose utility knife for my tramping kit. Strong enough to shave feather sticks but still dexterous enough for fine work. Weight is negligible.

Opinel Classic Originals Knife Stainless Steel / 10cm blade

This Opinel size 10 knife is the perfect all-round knife. Good quality blade that keeps a good edge. Great quality. I also own a number 6 for smaller jobs.

Opinel Lock Knives

Brilliant pocket knife. Simple, solid mechanism, nice wood handle that's well shaped and well finished. Dropped a star because the edge was a bit rolled. Didn't take long to get perfect with emery paper, now it has a really sharp edge that lasts well. I think the edge is slightly convex rather than 100% flat and better for it. I've been making shims tricky bits of shuttering to repair a roof. Therese were only from pine wood but very seasoned and it slices through without much effort. Can't open one-handed, but very easy to close and lock one handed - handy working at height and holding on with other hand.

Simple and Effective

I have a No. 8, which I really like. The No. 10 is also great, as I appreciate the larger size. The beech handle is pretty and comfortable, the blade is slender so makes it very slicey. These have been around a long time and the design is not trendy, which is also a plus. Also low cost to buy! A knife should cut, and well. This is what it does!

Turned out great but didn't start well

I have to say I was ready to return this product after the first couple of days. When I first unpacked the knife it was difficult to open, I chalked it up to needing to be broken in. The next morning however the knife was almost impossible to open, like broken thumb nail and eventually pliers to get the blade out.I was literally packaging it up to return it and then I decided to look online, as soon as you google Opinel hard to open lot's shows up. I read that humidity can expand the wood and make it hard to open. I threw the knife on my heat vent at home overnight to try and dry it out. The next morning it opened the way it should.
