4G unlocked USB dongle

This Huawei 3372 (no wifi) 4G dongle covers all the ranges used in Australia and Eu for LTE/4G. It performs well in the field. It accepts external aerials for poor reception areas (used overseas on same model, if appropriate tails used did not damage dongle). This one is as a spare for my overseas machine.

A nice compact 4G capable unit

It is working well - otherwise I would NOT have an internet connection and thus would be unable to post this review. Very good value, in my view. Easy to set up? Well, yes and no. An unlocked unit in which I have only used one data SIM card so far, with nil 'hiccups'. Will be interesting to see how the E3372 handles any future 'change of SIM' however.

Good but slightly outdated

This USB modem is great. It works not only as prepaid, but if you have a postpaid data sim it works with that too.No bloatware install on your PC, everything is done through a web interface.Lacks small things in the UI that i would think should be included like;Total MB/GB transmitted in the session, time on.It is NOT Optus 4GX compliant (LTE 2300MHz) and thus can't make use of the faster connection speeds. I find this unfortunate.

Good product
4 November 2016

I use this modem to get Internet for my house. It works very well and has a good bandwidth. I had it replaced once and I still go to this one because it works very well. The HiLink version is good when you don't want to setup your computer to connect directly to the cell network. it works as a NAT gateway on a private network. If you prefer to get the IP address directly assigned by the ISP to you, you can either catch a non-hilink version, or flash the firmware yourself.

Good product for basic use

This is a great, low cost, basic USB modem for people that need an ok connection on the Optus network. Just insert your Optus SIM, plug it in and it works. If you're a more advanced user please read on...I purchased this stick expecting to receive the E3372h-607 that Optus has been shipping for the last few years. Turns out that Optus is now shipping an updated E3372h-608 version. The 608 version looks identical to the 607 from the outside but is a completely different PCB on the inside. The 608 version is locked to the Optus network and from my experimentation there is no "stick mode" firmware currently available for this model so you can't unlock or hack it as you could with the older 607 version. This is still an excellent item that does exactly what it says ... MoreThis is a great, low cost, basic USB modem for people that need an ok connection on the Optus network. Great value, quick setup, fast 4G, recommend
9 October 2016

Comes with 4GB included data to use in 14 days. I live in a regional internet area with poor ADSL reception, so I did not expect best results. My marginal 4G reception varied between 1 and 2 bars performance. My maximum download was 18.3Mbps and upload speed 6.3Mbps. If you are in a excellent 4G area, you can expect download speeds up to 150Mbps.In Windows, insert the Huawei 4G modem in USB port and run "autorun.exe". This will open a web page in your browser. I enabled "wireless" in settings, rebooted PC, leaving the modem in computer. On Windows startup the Huawei wireless internet is enabled. This is the latest E3372h model (see Photo)

It flies either way - online, else out the window.

Great microSIM router for the new 4G 700MHz (most common available everywhere), great reception indoors and response. The MAC address filter seems not to support more than several devices (suits a small family home or rental flat/apartment). 2.4G band channels start @ Ch.5 (Chs.3 & 4 made good 802.11n, now only best 802.11n is Ch.11 that EVERYBODY sets causing router interference). Has CONE/SYMMETRIC NAT option.

New Model in Old Packaging
8 October 2020

Be warned that Optus are now shipping a new model E3372h-608 in the same packaging as the old model E3372h-607.The new model is locked to Optus and has completely redesigned firmware and web GUI.Both models are compatible with Mac, however require quite a bit of configuration to get them up and running. There are detailed instructions in a PDF on the Huawei website, just make sure you choose the Hi-Link version of the instructions. It's a good modem that works well in a laptop, just don't expect the new model to be compatible with routers stating E3372 support.

Nice modem, is actually unlocked
11 May 2020

Modem is actually unlocked, worked with Telstra right out of the box.I was also able to change the firmware and Web GUI on it to gain more features.Without changing firmware you get almost no options and are stuck with NAT that you can’t open any ports on (not that it’s any issue for almost everyone who would want on of theses)I was able to get over 100mbps speed test on both Optus and Telstra with this modemOverall good modem but it’s USB only, unlike the Telstra pre paid modems of the same price, they have USB & WiFi.

Works but only with PC
18 June 2021

Dongle requires PC software to configure but won't work as a stand alone broadband dongle to connect to a router USB port.SIM card is included in the package in a credit card holder. It is required to access the internet. No instructions on where the SIM card can be found. See pic.Recharge via Optus web site.
