Bought this and a ppc212 because I was tired of lugging around a huge, heavy, half-stack (spoiler alert, the ppc212 is the heaviest cab on the planet so that sucks lol)I was a little worried that 15 watts wasn't going to be loud enough to hear over my heavy hitting drummer but dude...this thing delivers! I don't even turn it up half way and it's more than loud enough. Run a boost throught the effects loop for solos and it cuts right through. The tone of the natural channel is a little lackluster but nothing an eq pedal in the loop can't fixPlenty of gain but I use it more for classic rock/hard rock. Keep the gain at about 1 then boost it with an overdrive. Although you could definitely get doomy and heavy sounds if you put a big muff or something in front of it.

I love this amp. The multiple wattage selection and headroom/bedroom selector give me the perfect amount of power for any situation. I'm replacing the micro dark with this. A little bigger than I expected, but still smaller than a traditional amp head. Not quite as much gain but plenty to get the job done. And you can't beat the multiple channels. The usual incredible orange sound that I've come to expect dirty or clean. Highly recommend adding the foot switch.

This is my first tube amp after playing with the yamaha Thr10 for a number of years. I have paired it up with an orange PPC112 and the responsivity is astonishing. This pairing is still surprisingly loud even on the bedroom settings but can still get good tones at low volumes. The amp is versatile and capable of crunchy blues tones all the way up to hard rock. The rocker takes pedals very well and is benefitted by an FX loop. Stacking an overdrive or boost pedal will push it into a nice chug for some metal tones too. The clean channel also takes pedals very well. I ordered my amp whilst it was out of stock but had regular updates and support whenever I needed it so a really faultless service.

Best on the best purchases I've ever made, it comes with a nice carrying case that it'll drop right into and has a place for cords, making my setup tear down time less than 5 minutes. It's small and lightweight meaning I can move pretty much everything in one trip, but 0 sound quality is sacrificed. The greatest feature is the headroom and bedroom switch. I use a 1x12 speaker or a 4x10 cab depending where I am at. In bedroom mode I can turn up the head to about 8 and have the sound and tubes in full effect and you can still listen at a comfortable volume in a small space. In headroom mode it gives you all the power you need to play over a drummer, bass, or other guitar.Initially the name didn't interest me because I thought 1. It would be limited to metal and high gain and 2. 15 watts might not be enough especially for the priceThere is definitely no limit to the amount of tones you can get, crystal clear, crunch, high gain, clean with a little crackle, it'll do it all, and at whatever volume in whatever setting you need. The only thing I miss about my last orange compared to this one is the fact that it's missing a reverb channel. But this amp does handle pedals way better than my last few and paired with an oceans 11 reverb it's perfect
I usually buy from my local retailer or another well known online retailer. But ProAudioStar offered some sweet deals so I decided to try them out. After that I started paying attention. ProAudioStar fills their orders quickly. This particular product is awesome. I love Orange amps. I have a Mesa Lonestar and several Fender amps. But if I could only keep one amp, it would no doubt be an Orange (probably the Rockerverb 50 mk III). As for the Rocker Terror, you might need an EQ pedal for the clean channel, but - depending on which guitar you plug in - they did a pretty good job of coming up with a fairly flat sound. To me, the clean channel sounds best somewhere around 6 - 7. Bought this to replace a Blues Jr. that was just too loud to enjoy in my home. Could never get the thing to breakup without shaking the walls. The built in attenuator makes achieving that sweet tube breakup attainable without bothering the neighbors.Lots of gritty low mids for that rocking crunch that I was looking for.The natural channel has no tone knobs but an EQ pedal in the FX loop lets me voice it however I like.Chicago Music Exchange did not fail to deliver quickly. If you are looking for a tube amp that is playable in your home - this is it.
As a fan of Orange amps and already own several models, I was on the look out for a more compact head that would be good for rehearsal as well as smaller live shows. This one fitted the bill perfectly and came up on a Black Friday deal at an insane price. I had to get it. You don’t need to be a fan of Brent hinds to appreciate this amp. I vaguely know that he is a guitarist in mastodon but that’s it. Ok sound wise on the dirty channel is cranked Marshall Jcm 800 territory. not a typical orange dirty channel but fantastic all the same. It has a wonderful organic gain structure but isn’t a high gain amp as you would expect. To tighten up the bottom end a tube screamer works well. The natural channel is however my favourite and a perfect pedal platform. stick a clean ... MoreAs a fan of Orange amps and already own several models, I was on the look out for a more compact head that would be good for rehearsal as well as smaller live shows. The natural channel is however my favourite and a perfect pedal platform. stick a clean volume boost such as an mxr micro amp in front of the amp for a massive fat crunch tone that is very pick sensitive. I could listen to that one sound all day long. A really good amp that is highly versatile, sounds good and certainly loud enough for most situations. Just get it
Great amp with that Orange rocker tone. The natural channel takes pedals well. I tried the Friedman dirty shirley and it sounds awesome. I'm also a huge fan of the Orange clean tone. On my single coil neck pup, using the natural channel with volume up to about 5-6 it's very clean bell-like tones. I use this with a two notes captor 16 and some impulse responses. The only thing I wish had known was the distortion is very compressed. The waveform is like almost a rectangle. But even so....you can't beat that sound! :)
I'm hands down impressed with this amp. For 15 watts I was assuming it would barely be loud enough for my music room for practicing alone. It's crazy loud. Roll the gain back, great classic rock crunch. Max out the gain, and it has a great tone as well ! I mainly play pop punk and highly recommend it for anyone playing that or any other style that ISNT metal. Straight outta the box I would say avoid this amp for metal unless you have some kind of boost pedal or a high gain pedal. It's totally worth getting though if you like orange. Doesn't sound like the tiny terrors, it has its own ORANGE tone, and the individual controls (other than just a shape knob) are great too. I blast this through a 4x12 Bogner uberkab and it's a monster.
The Rocker 15 Terror is a versatile twin channel amp with great sound straight out of the box. I bought the amp blind (after reading and listening to some online reviews) in order to replace a recently deceased 60W ‘tube’ amp. The ‘Natural’ clean channel is surprisingly American in its voicing at low volume but breaks up into a great British crunch at higher levels. There’s only a volume knob on the Natural channel but the mid-high focused tonal balance is spot on and great for pedals – add a dirt box, phaser and reverb, and you have another lead channel! The Dirty channel has all the classic 70’s Orange crunch and rock tones without the need for any pedals but it will only just about chug if the gain is maxed out. The Dirty channel has all the classic 70’s Orange crunch and rock tones without the need for any pedals but it will only just about chug if the gain is maxed out. Adding my boost pedal to the front end of the Dirty Channel was all that was needed to get serious Metal tones. The Dirty channel is also a great clean channel at lower gain settings and at high gain settings it cleans up beautifully using the guitar volume knob. The amp is perfect for recording, cutting straight through bass lines with loads of terrific mids and highs but little in the way of LF to mud things up. With a larger cab it should be great for gigging too, however like most valve amps it is far too loud for bedroom use; there is a ‘bedroom’ attenuator built in but it’s strictly for practice – I don’t think the Rocker 15 (or most valve amps) would be a good choice for bedroom only players as there are loads of cheaper solid state amps that can produce fuller tones at much lower volumes, and of course it can’t be silenced with a pair of headphones. With some volume, either clean or dirty, the Rocker 15 Terror becomes wonderfully touch responsive and is definitely one of the best amps that I have played into. My only gripe is that the channel footswitch is NOT included but on the plus side it does include a great gig bag.
