As a non-endorsed purchaser (still a fanboy, but not biased enough to point out some flaws) I can honestly say this amp is amazing! As other reviews have said, there isn't a lot of crystal clear headroom in a band situation, but I still get some dreamy cleans where I need them. My only real complaint is the lack of reverb. I'll have to add another pedal to cover that. It's worth it to not have to carry my whole rig out, though. The range of tones this amp covers is huge. The shape knob only needs to be tweaked a little to completely change your sound. The gain on this is outstanding, as well. It really does cover anything from light OD, to screaming thick distortion. If you are on the fence, and can deal with adjusting for cleans and a lack of reverb, save your energy for playing and get this! You can thank me and Orange later.

I have to admit I had high expectations of this amp having owned much bigger orange amps in the past, but to say I am blown away is an understatement. The amount of tonal scope was a big surprise, just using the gain and single tone knob you can get a huge range of tones. The gain itself goes from a lovely light crunch that only cuts through when you play hard to a full distortion that I can play full metal with. I thought it might just be loud enough for small practices but this is easily a gigable amp and has already replaced my old gig amp. Cannot recommend it more.

Good sounding amp that sounds good at low volume levels! (just check that the power supply is OK)

The preamp, helped by the valve really is good.As the power amp is solid state (and a good one), it sounds good at low volumes into a cab - perfect for home use. I practice in a small room at around 75-80dB two metres from the amp. I've tried 10 low wattage amps from the major manufacturers and all of them sound poor at that volume. It doesn't sound as good as a valve amp turned up though. It can get loud, but I haven't tried it at gig levels. If your clean tone is a little quiet, you can put a boost pedal in the effects loop, or run the cab sim output to a PA for extra volume. The headphone output with cab sim isn't as good as my Strymon Iridium, but that's a much more expensive pedal. Orange know that some of their power supplies have this problem.

Great practice amp with fx loop
1 March 2022

I bought this as a practice amp along with a 108 cab. My live rig involves a lot of pedals including using an fx loop and there are very few practice amps out there with a loop.I love the twin volume switches for boosting, and it sounds great clean as well as driven.Having a DI out makes it more versatile but bear in mind you’ll need a longer than usual speaker lead (I found out after that Orange make a 20’ speaker cable: worth buying.I should point out that this can get very loud so good for small gigs too.Only two issues, I would like an extra switch to turn the loop on and off (like I have on my Marshall origin) and I have found it gets quite noisy with the fx loop connected. This may be down to my cheap power brick on my pedal board but never had this issue ... MoreI bought this as a practice amp along with a 108 cab. Slightly more than a tiny terror but that doesn’t have the fx loop

HOW DOES ORANGE DO IT?
30 December 2020

I own this Bad Boy and have Gigged out with it also so I can confirm that this little pedal amp is a Beast for its size and weight. What some people don't realize is that there is an actual preamp tube inside the unit Plus a mini Tube Gain adjustment Potentiometer. After trying this out when I first got it, I decided to LQQK under the hood and changed the chinese tube out with a Russian made Tung-Sol 12ax7 and what a difference this made in volume, tone, sustain, clarity and overall Headroom. I also backed the Tube Gain Trim Pot all the way to the left then set it to 1/2 position and this gave me good Cleans to use pedals But also still had plenty of gain on tap by itself. The 2 Volume controls is a CQQL feature - you can set Vol 1 as your regular level and Vol 2 as a Boost/Lead/Solo level and use the foot switch to switch back and forth. Also, each Vol control has its own LED so its easy to tell which Vol control is active. You can use an 8 or 16 ohm cab with this little guy. It is just so simple and versatile to use. I am Old School so I am all about Simple. It takes Pedals very well so that way the Terror stamp isn't cluttered up with a bunch of built in effects Plus it has an FX loop if you so choose to use it. I also own the Micro Dark Terror, which actually caused me to seek out other Awesome made Orange products - I was that impressed! Guess that would be saved for another Review. Try one today! If you like British tone and Classic Rock, I don't think you will be disappointed!

This little amp is quite impressive! I've tried it in several setups and have found it to be - Very responsive to guitar volume and tone knobs, and pick attack. It's effects loop is great for those time based and modulation effects. It's got a ton of excellent gain, works great as a dirt pedal feeding another amp, and even accepts dirt pedals in front quite nicely... And it's a very loud 20 watts (much louder than I was expecting!). I'm pushing it into a Marshall Origin vertical 2x12 cab, and it's actually moving some air with volume set around 11 o'clock, and can be painfully loud. My current set-up is guitar_EHX soul food (volume at noon, drive around 2 o'clock, treble at 9 o'clock)_ Terror Stamp {volume noon, shape from 10-2 depending on guitar, gain around 1 ... MoreThis little amp is quite impressive! By stacking the transparent boost/gain of the soul food into the Terror Stamp I am getting really great fully saturated tones of hot glowing power tubes being pushed to the limit that beg be played, or by disengaging the soul food, I'm in that great bluesy crunch/classic rock pushed amp territory. And by rolling back on my volume pot, it's a wonderful warm clean sound. Set volume 2 slightly higher than volume 1, and regardless of the tone I'm playing- with a simple step on the pedal my exact tone is boosted. This amp was very well thought out, and delivers the unmistakable Orange sounds that have helped make iconic rock music for decades. I'm very satisfied/impressed with the Terror Stamp. It's minimalistic controls are sensitive, but intuitive and effective. I highly recommend this versatile amp.

My kind of Terror!
5 May 2022

I wanted a smaller amp for home use. My Mesa was a 50 watt beast and I did not need that type of wattage at home. I ran across the Terror Stamp at my local GC and decided it was worth the money. I have not been disappointed so far. I love the small footprint of the amp. For the diminutive size of the amp, it is pretty dayum loud, pushing my PRS 12 easily. The effects loop is a nice feature and I have my modulation pedals hooked up nice and neat. Orange has done it again!!! Thanks

Review of Orange Terror Stamp 20w Valve Hybrid Guitar Amp Pedal
20 April 2023

What’s good about it is also it’s drawback. It provides that classic Orange sound but also colors many distortion pedals with that sound. It’s not necessarily a bad thing, because it still sounds good, and it feels great to play. If you don’t use any high gain pedals, it will make a great pedal platform, because it responds well to overdrives and has an effects loop. If I could change one thing, it would be the tone knob. It would be great if it was replaced with a concentric bass/treble knob. Anyhow, it’s cheaper than most boutique pedals, so it’s great value for money.
