I bought this as a gift for my son as he's really nervous about going back to school and also didn't like his backpack which had been handed down about five times. He's going into grade two and the child in the picture looked about his age, but this backpack is more the size for a toddler. It's teeny tiny for him and almost comical. I will be returning it.

I bought 2 bags for my kids and they are 3 and 5. Perfect sizes for both. It's comfortable and supportive to kids. In addition, it has a whistle designed at the clip area. Easy for them to blow the whistle if they are in danger while hiking.

I bought this for my niece thats 2 years old and she loves it! I thought it would be a great way to introduce her to a backpack! She loves. all of the pockets and has been able to use the zippers by herself. I feel like this backpack will be of use for her for several years!

This is the only pack I could find that combines all the features I wanted for my kid, while still being cute enough and not shaped like an animal face. You'd be surprised by the dearth of options out there. The biggest thing is that the straps are combined and lay flat at the top which helps the bag stay on my kid's shoulders.
My 3.5 yo LOVES his backpack. It is perfect for him, with room to grow. He loves carrying his water bottle and snack along with any treasures he finds on our hikes. Little sister (1.5 yo) wants one too! The little pocket is perfect for quick small things likes sunglasses. The water pocket fit thermos bottles well and are snug on the contigo kid water bottles. He needs a little extra oomph to get that one out. His favorite part is the whistle.
I bought the daisy print for my daughter (5) and the space print for my son (3.5). They absolutely love their backpacks! They wear them when we go on dog walks and collect all their favourite things (sticks, stones, pinecones!).
Got this for my 5 year old to use at cycling camp and it’s the perfect size. It has two compartments on side for water bottles and a zipper compartment in front for small items. It’s great for a day trip just big enough to fit snacks, change of clothes and some other personal items. It even has a compartment inside for a tablet/I pad. I think it’s probably good for about 3- 6 year old. Can wear as a daycare bag for toddler too. Colour is also really nice and bag seems of high quality. Has an area to write name inside as well.
We initially bought this to use for preschool and carrying a folder and lunchbox - it is too small for that. That being said-we love this backpack. It’s perfect for our tall 3 year old to wear out and about. It fits his potty seat, a spare set of clothes, a few toys and snacks.
This is an excellent backpack for a 3-4 year old for dayhikes or school. I like that it has the hydration pack pocket inside and it seems to be good quality as all the ospray bags are. I like all the small outside pockets, however I do worry about the zipper on the aux pocket on the back as it seems pretty small for how rough kids are. That being said no issues yet. Also, this bag is quite small. I use it for my 3 year old. But I am glad I sized up to a Jet 12L for my 5 year old as this would have been too small for all the stuff he likes to carry while we hike.
I got this backpack to get my kids used to hiking and biking with their own water bottles (3 in my pack gets heavy!). This backpack is great for that. It can carry two water bottles and a snack, and maybe a thin layer. Kids (8 and 10) say it is comfortable. I am impressed by the quality zipper pulls and organized interior.
