First of all I love Osprey bags. I own five and they are consistently the most well designed and constructed brand that I have ever owned. This bag is no exception to that. It is sturdy and solidly built if a little on the heavy side. Also, I love the ability to easily piggy back a smaller bag. The harness system is really well designed and it would be a great bag for travelling light in regions where both the wheeled and backpack function are useful. Unfortunately it has one major flaw and that is the width measures 15" which, as another reviewer pointed out, exceeds the maximum carry-on limit for some airlines. The difference is small enough that they may not notice but why take the chance? It should not be advertised as carry-on luggage and I certainly would not ... MoreFirst of all I love Osprey bags. Bought 2 of these for a 3month trip to Australasia. Really hard wearing and durable. Looks like new after lots of handling on and off planes trains trams. Hugely impressed. Would highly recommend.

A rugged, light weight travel suitcase.Worth the price if you wait for it to go on sale (about 1/3rd off a couple times a year).Previously, I owned the model above this one. The other model had a removable daypack. I didn't like that. It was confusing to pack with the day pack grafted on. Also, that day pack made the center of gravity higher, which made the suitcase easy to tip over while going up curbs and stairs. I think this is a much better suitcase than it's big brother.Besides the very light weight, my second favorite feature is the cushiony and stable backpack. It helps you carry the weight comfortably.

I have just completed my first trip with my Sojourn Wheeled 80 and I love it. It's easy to pack and unpack and I was amazed at how much I managed to fit inside. I'm a 5ft 4 female and I transitioned between case and back pack really easily. I procrastinated for ages about buying it, but I'm now very glad I did!
This bag works so well in different situations. Currently in Vietnam and staying in a variety of accommodation types and travelling by various transport. Having the option to convert to a back pack to carry up steps or on and off buses etc is great but then to just use the rollers at the airport or into hotels is so nice. It packs really well as it has structure to the sides unlike my previous backpacks. I took the time to get the backpack straps adjusted to my size and it’s actually pretty comfy, I wouldn’t go trekking with it but for short distances is perfect.
Osprey offers three excellent carry-on roller bags that also offer a hidden backpack harness . Meridian 22, Ozone Convertable 22 and Sojourn 22. There are many good reviews on the net that spacifically compare features on each Osprey offering as well as the compeating Eagle Creek Switchback International 22. All 3 Ospreys are all well reviewed as rolling luggage. For carrying with harness they run a spectrum with with Sojourn having the "best" back-pack harness, Ozone "better" and Maridian "good". The Eagle Creek Switchback 22 lines up with the Ozone ("better") for backpack-friendly. I bought both an Osprey Ozone Convertable 22 and an Eagle Creek Switchback 22. Both are exactly right for our European travel. None would cut it in the Andes.
I bought this pack (along with the Osprey Daylite Plus) to replace a rolling carry-on and separate backpack that I've been using for the past several years for business trips and shorter vacations. For business, the two items pair together well with the attachment feature to perform as a more professional looking roller set up. For vacation, or anytime that rolling it doesn't work as well (long city hikes to a hotel or transportation center), the backpack set up is dialed in. While I wouldn't use it for a backcountry backpacking trip, I would be happy to hike a few miles with this versus pulling something behind me. I usually pack big checked bags but on this trip with so many train and ferry trips, long walks down cobblestone streets, that wasn’t going to cut it. I was worried I wasn’t going to have enough space but I started calling it my Mary Poppins bag because it was magic. The wheels had no issues on the streets. The bag itself was light and well made. My husband had ordered himself one before the trip ended!
So, bag arrived quickly and in great condition. Thanks Moosejaw. Ok, so the outside is great osprey chassis, with adjustable backpack straps and waist strap. Take special note the sides have a harder fabric to protect from the airport luggage handlers. The inside is a large compartment with pockets in the side and front paneling. Inside also has compression straps. At the top of the bag is a pocket for frequently needed accessories and the tote handle. I recommend buying a daylight plus as it has attachment rings for it also. The 2 bags together are seemless. I don't think there is a better convertible bag: roomy, durable, slick.
I just took this on a trip to Europe for 2 weeks. I carried it on the plane, which was good because we barely made our connection. It is well made. It held plenty of clothes and 3 pairs of shoes for 2 weeks. It rolls nicely with sturdy wheels and handle. I liked that I could use it as a backpack for train travel. I could stuff my raincoat in the backpack strap area. I also like the external straps for extra compression and protection.
