I used the owlet sock paired with the Nanit camera for my first child 4 years ago. Loved the sock, I don’t believe the camera was out yet. Fast forward to 2022, had my 2nd child and hunted down the newest but discontinued owlet sock before stores sold out and absolutely love it and decided to get the camera too. The camera has been so disappointing. I don’t feel comfortable leaving my baby in the room and relying on the camera. There have been times where I heard him cry and I took him from his room and the camera would still show him in his bed sleeping FOR HOURS when he wasn’t there. I reset the camera, talked to customer service. Nothing came of it. Now have a camera I can’t use and owlet says they can’t replace even though under warranty

Ehhh, when it works then it works but when it doesn’t work it’s frustrating. This cam bundled with 2 sock monitors is what we initially bought a year ago. It does the job when it wants to. There is always on going connection issues between the wifi and base, the sock and base, our phones and the cam not loading. It’s been an on going issue, after issue, after issue. Somehow the cam is always losing connection and is “offline”. The sock is always “disconnected from base station” and now notifications aren’t coming through like they had been. Also, there seems to always be a “sock placement issue” even though we’ve placed it accordingly like the instructional videos have told us. This type of negligence and failure to notify shouldn’t be happening for something we spent a lot of money on to help protect our child. We ended up taking our child to the ER. Upon being discharged, several hours later, we place the sock on our child again and the cam was not working. If there is a better monitor out there I would highly recommend checking the reviews, pros and cons between the two and make your best judgement decision. Like I said, when it works it works when it doesn’t work it’s frustrating.

We purchased this camera after having to return another brand that would not stay connected. The Owlet camera is a MAJOR upgrade, and cost less than the other one we purchased. It has great quality, zoom feature is fantastic, and I love that you can be in another app in your phone and still have sound monitoring with the connected app without having to have a second parent unit. We recently took this on a road trip and it was easy to set up at each person's house we stayed at. If I had to leave a complaint, it is that the status light it quite bright, but we don't use it so just keep it off. If that was a feature we wanted to use, I'd worry a little about it keeping baby awake. I liked being able to have the monitor on my phone to check in on my baby. We didn’t have many issues at first as my son slept in our room with us so we didn’t need to use the monitor much. I don’t need it for naps as much as I simply want to see my child sometimes when it’s dark at night.I tried to cover everything I’ve noticed so far, of course I haven’t installed it fully yet but it looks super simple to mount. If you want it and don’t mind the slight issues, get it. It’s a good camera.
